Overall Experience

My mother in Law had lived at Fairby for almost 3 1/2 years, until she recently passed. She was so happy there, and they catered for her Alzheimer's. Her bedroom was always immaculate, with matching bedding changed regularly. The care and support shown to her and all the residents by the positive, dedicated staff is phenomenal. The staff have been there for years and there is a Fairby Grange 'happy family vibe'. This is lovely for residents' continuity. Always daily activities, and the chance to go out in the mini bus for weekly outings. Singers come in for residents - so lovely to hear them sing and remember words of old songs (even the dementia residents). Fairby is a charming building and is immaculately clean and tidy and always smells so fresh. Small touches - linen tablecloths and napkins, and upmarket flower arrangements in reception changed regularly, make it homely. I would recommend Fairby 100% for anyone having to make the decision for a loved one.

From the moment you step through the door at Fairby Grange, you're surrounded by a welcoming, homely vibe that sets it apart from many other care homes. The staff are friendly, caring, patient, and kind and have a magical way of making each resident feel special. There's a stimulating program of activities to keep residents engaged, ranging from outings to local places of interest, to armchair exercises and quizzes. Every birthday and special occasion is celebrated and the residents all appear to be happy and content. I felt that we were incredibly lucky that Fairby Grange had a vacancy at the moment when we needed it.

My Mum has been living at Fairby Grange for six weeks now and has settled in very well. The staff are incredibly caring and I know my Mum is safe and cared for, nothing is too much trouble. The activities are fantastic, Mum has been on trips out that she loves and her smiles when she is engaged in an activity, mean the world to me. The home is spotless, and very homely, and Mum loves the food which is a blessing. I feel very lucky to have found somewhere as wonderful as this.

My Father is very happy living at Fairby Grange, he feels safe and well looked after. I find all of the staff very friendly, and they all like my Dad. He initially went in for respite care whilst I was away on holiday. When I returned from holiday he asked if he could stay at Fairby Grange as he preferred it to living on his and felt safe knowing help was always on hand. I am reassured that he is there and I also feel he is safe.

Fairby Grange is a care home. The staff are cheerful, empathetic and show genuine regard for the happiness and welfare of the residents. They take good care of my father who has now been a resident for 10 months. Because it is an old building, it feels homely, warm and welcoming. There is always something going on, be it trips out, entertainments in the lounge or just visitors and staff passing through. I feel confident that this is the best place for my father to spend his declining years.

We visited several places before making the important decision for our dear mum, and the moment we walked into Fairby Grange, we felt it had a warm, homely atmosphere that set it apart. The staff are exceptional - caring, patient, and always generous with their time. It's clear they genuinely care about each and every resident. There's always something going on, from activities to outings, keeping everyone engaged and entertained. All the residents appear happy and content. We honestly can't fault the place. Every visit feels relaxed and welcoming. The staff even bring us cups of tea and take the time to chat. They know mum so well, which gives us such peace of mind. We feel incredibly lucky to have found Fairby Grange.

Mum moved into Fairby Grange as her well-being and safety became an increasing concern for the family. Within a short period of time mum settled, became very comfortable and really enjoyed life at Fairby Grange. Over two years the staff became friends and really looked after. As her health deteriorated and her independence lessened, mum continued to be well cared for. As a family we could not praise the staff highly enough for everything they did.

As mum could not cope at home between us we came to the conclusion that mum would be better in a home and after some research Fairby Grange seemed to meet mums needs so we set up a month trial initially that went well so we decided to make it permanent. During mums time here she was looked after really well, made friends with other residents and particularly the staff as always enjoyed her talks when they made the time to sit with her. Sadly mums health deteriorated while she was in the home but the staff were exceptional at the end and made mum comfortable and treated her with compassion.

My husband was in Fairby Grange for three weeks of respite whilst I was recovering from an operation. The care he received from all the staff was excellent and they made him very welcome. This gave me peace of mind to know he was being taken good care of. He enjoyed his stay and thought the food was great. Thank you once again for taking such care.

Fairby Grange is a caring, comforting, compassionate and friendly care home. The owners, management and staff used their expertise to settle and reassure my mum when she first arrived there over a year ago and she soon settled in. She was always happy, clean, well-presented and comfortable within the cosy but professionally run surroundings. Mum particularly enjoyed her lovely, bright room, trips out in the minibus, the wonderful, home-cooked food and her time spent in the on-site hairdresser. Having nice hair was important to her and she would say to me on almost every visit that she really loved where she was staying. Any particular concerns were always reported by the manager/owners or appropriate staff and dealt with both sympathetically and efficiently. As a family, you are consistently and heartily welcomed into the nurturing environment that they provide. I was always so reassured that she was looked after, quite simply, by the very best of people.

My overall experience of the home is very good but recent changes particularly concerning visiting has taken away some of the friendliest of the home and made it feel more regimented.

I have no experience of other homes but feel my wife is well looked after.

Fairby Grange is a warm and welcoming home offering excellent fresh home-cooked meals. The management and staff are extremely efficient, displaying a level of care and experience that has made my mum settle relatively well. The daily activities, warmth and care generated by the staff are very apparent.

Through their social media updates, we get to see Mum and the residents having fun. With an on-site minibus, they offer regular offsite activities for residents to participate in.

My mother-in-law settled into Fairby Grange very quickly and is very happy there. The owner, manager and all the staff are very kind and caring towards her and are all very pleasant and helpful. They have a great team there - nothing seems too much trouble. She is always saying how happy she is there and the staff are lovely. She enjoys joining in the many activities during the week and going on outings in the minibus, plus always loves having her hair and nails done at the home.

Fairby Grange is very clean and has a homely feel about it, the food is home cooked and varied too. Whenever we visit the staff are so friendly and helpful to us and the manager always keeps us updated on how she is getting on. Our family are sure we made the right decision by entrusting her care at Fairby Grange and we know she is well looked after there, this is reinforced every time we visit and see her smiling and laughing with the staff - We would definitely recommend Fairby Grange.
