Your heartfelt review encompasses everything we strive towards, and we are a home that will always do our best to accommodate and adapt to changes to a person's care needs.
Thank you for the acknowledgment of the challenges we have faced in recent years and how we have managed them. It has not been easy.
It is due to a truly amazing, caring, dedicated group of people working together at Generals Meadow we have all the ingredients for happy residents such as your beloved Nan.
It's lovely to hear your feedback that your relative is happy and safe under our care. We take a lot of pride in our appearance and facilities to give our residents and visitors the best experience possible.
A big thank you for your feedback from all the team at Generals Meadow.
As you said, it's the team of dedicated staff and health professionals, including your father all working towards a common goal and not giving up.
I remember when he first moved to GM from another local care home he affectionately said "I would love to walk again David", and a year later he has achieved his goal! (Now we will need a new one).
The ripple effect on your father's happiness, confidence and overall well-being cannot be described. The input from you, his family also has a big part in supporting his wishes.
Thank you for sharing your experiences, it is most appreciated.
We thank you for taking the time to submit a review about us. It makes us very proud to hear the feedback that your father and family are pleased with the care and progress which has been made during his time with us. We do not use agency staff at all, so yes this does provide continuity of care and the staff have got to know your father very well.
He has made some valuable contributions to our residents' meetings and by his request we moved his room about so he could watch the TV when he is in bed, improving and promoting his quality of life and choices.
Dear Melanie,
Thank you for the review. Your mother-in-law always looks forward to your regular phone calls and visits which is so important to our residents' mental health, it's clear that she has a very caring family. She loves helping out in the home and picking fruit in the garden. It's a pleasure to have her with us she is always making sure that nobody gets left out.
Covid has been a challenge for everyone and we feel that we have done everything possible to keep the home as safe as possible whilst still encouraging the freedoms we all enjoy.
Dear David,
It's a pleasure to look after your lovely mother, who always has something nice to say to everyone. She is always cheerful, like yourself, and grateful for all that we do to make life a little easier. Your mother has attracted many friends in the home which is no surprise given her joyful and friendly personality.
I will pass your generous comments to the team.
Dear Sue, Thanks for the review. We do miss seeing you as we did before Covid impacted our lives, but I am glad that you appreciate everything we have done to ensure the continued safety of our staff, residents and visitors such as yourself.
Your telephone calls and letters to the residents are very welcomed as is your visits now they have started again in care homes.
Your positive comments are welcomed by the whole team at Generals Meadow, and it's always a pleasure to welcome you when you visit your sister.
We are sorry to hear that the other care providers were not up to the standard you expected but happy that you found that the 'luxury hotel' environment at Generals Meadow was to your sister's liking. The Jacobean style of the property certainly doesn't look like many other care homes, so we are fortunate that we are quite unique in what we are able to offer in such a nice location with beautiful grounds.
Your sister has settled in very well and the staff love it when she sings to them. She has put weight on during her time with us, enjoys her meals and often tucks into her biscuit barrel in her room!
I think we have a pretty good routine and plan of care in place, however, if there is anything else we can do to accommodate your sister's stay with us please just let me know.
Thank you for taking the time to review Generals Meadow, it's really appreciated and also gives other families in similar situations some insight of your own experiences.
It was a sad time for us all knowing that she was not going to make a recovery following her recent diagnosis, she was a kind lady who thought about others all the time. It does provide warmth and comfort during these times knowing that we were able to provide care according to your step-mother's wishes, and to remain at Generals Meadow with familiar, caring staff by her side.
I will pass on your kind feedback to the rest of the team, who we are indebted to for their dedication, kindness and care. The home will not be the same without her, and she will be missed by the other residents who had also grown very fond of her.
Thank you for your review, which we are most grateful for. We have tailored your relatives care, which is quite unique, and we have learnt all her quirky ways. All the staff mention how nice it is to have your sister-in-law with us, and they enjoy playing solitaire with her any time of the day. Yes, we have made a significant investment in the home in recent years, and it's appreciated that it's been noticed. It's a beautiful building, and we are aiming to complement it with all of the refurbishments.
We will pop your name on the waiting list when you are ready for a room!
Thank you for taking the time to fill out a comment card, we are always willing to listen to feedback and work on areas to improve our service.
It's such a shame and disappointing that you did not express your views about the home whilst your friend was being cared for by the team, as we promote an open and transparent culture, receiving good feedback throughout the four years we cared for them until the end of her life, providing enhanced care, equipment and support.
You said you were relieved she was able to remain at Generals Meadow.
To address your inaccurate assumptions made from infrequent visits.
-The missing item was investigated, and you were satisfied with the outcome.
-Two staff from 28 have moved on to other careers in the last 12 months.
-Our food hygiene rating is 5/5, comments from the latest resident meeting were very complimentary about the food where we serve home cooked meals, made from scratch.
I will attempt to contact you to discuss this feedback.
Thank you for the review and commenting on the excellent end of life care your mother received. You are correct in your observations that we have needed to invest a lot of time, money and thought into the refurbishment of the property since we took over the ownership 12 months ago. We have made good progress, prioritising the areas of improvement which included fire prevention and detection measures, staff training, decoration and refurbishment of the indoor and outdoor spaces. Half of the bedrooms have been completely refurbished, repainted with new carpets, curtains, new oak furniture, bedding and also the addition of shower en-suite bathrooms. It was a shame that we were not able to refurbish your mother's room during her time with us (now completed), however, her poor health took priority and as you have already mentioned, we provided excellent end of life care, respecting your wishes as a family whilst respecting your mother's dignity. Thank you for the staff Christmas gifts.
Your review encompasses everything we are striving to achieve. This ensures that our service reflects what the residents, visitors and staff appreciate and expect from a residential care home. The refurbishments have done the building justice, and we will continue to enhance the home's facilities and service. Your comments will be passed onto the team of staff who are our real heroes. We are very pleased that your mother is happy and thank you for entrusting her into our care.
Thank you very much for the feedback about Generals Meadow.
It is an absolute pleasure and an honour to be able to care for your father who always has a smile to share with us.
All the other residents love it when your father bursts into a song during the activity sessions, which he clearly enjoys entertaining others!
Thank you for your review of Generals Meadow. It is a pleasure to care for your father who certainly manages to capture the staff's affection!
Yes, the last year has seen many improvements to the home which are still ongoing. Coupled with our amazing team of staff we are able to provide the facilities and service which this generation deserve.
