Holywell Park is a large country house, set in its own grounds in the hamlet of Ashley-Cum-Ridley. Offering 24 hour nursing, dementia, residential and respite care the aim is to provide a friendly, caring environment for older people.

The home employs registered nurses, qualified care assistants, chefs, kitchen assistants and on-site housekeeping and maintenance staff.

Daily activities include: manicures, maintaining hobbies, playing games, Bingo, movie nights and themed nights. The home receives regular visits from musical and theatre groups, along with visits to the pantomime and garden centres.

I have been so pleased with how excellent this care/nursing home has been for my stepfather and my mother. The home looks beautiful and the grounds are kept immaculate. The rooms that my parents received were thoughtfully allocated, concerning their needs and wants. The food has always been a high standard
and the home is clean - The management have always been above and beyond for my family - We would have long chats and probably expect too much, but all we received back was a smile, an answer and explanation if required. Most importantly, the incredible empathy and compassion that ALL the staff have given to our circumstances have been so touching. The way they gave our family time to share special moments was beyond what I would expect from any nursing home. It has a family feel with the staff and the residents and my only regret is I was not able to give my mother longer in this care home to enjoy the smiles, the cuddles, the moments, that the staff here give freely and honestly.

Holywell Park did wonders for my mother. She went there in a very frail depressed state and we saw an immediate and substantial improvement. The staff were excellent making sure she was well taken care of, medication was taken, doctors visiting, well fed, responding to requests and above all that
she was loved. They organised daily events she loved taking part in and were a great help when medical emergencies or other hospital trips were needed. The staff have also been excellent with us (her relatives) making it easy to visit, easy to raise concerns over her health and arrange for her to have a full life including outings for family events.


Sadly my mother died recently and again Holywell Park and especially the management team were excellent at helping us with this.

My mother received palliative care at Holywell Park from January 2017 until her passing at the end of May 2017.
As a nurse myself, I recognise that the management and the nursing team worked well together and I cannot praise them highly enough.
My mother’s physical and emotional needs were always
met and she was regularly assessed and her care plan adjusted accordingly.
She was cared for with compassion and dignity under some difficult circumstances and as a family, we feel very privileged that she was staying at Holywell Park.
During this time my family, including our elderly father, were also supported and cared for by the team. There were always refreshments offered and time was found to chat to us, by every member of staff.
We appreciated the kindness you showed us all.

My mother was happy from the day she arrived at Holywell Park and enjoyed the various activities as well as the beautiful setting. She loved the food and when her appetite diminished a lot of effort was made to assist with her calorie intake and really tempt her with snacks which were delicious and
easy to eat. As her health deteriorated we were so grateful for the loving care she received, the staff were so gentle and kind and were really concerned for her welfare. Her final days were comfortable and pain-free, and the staff really looked after me as well. I am very grateful - choosing a nursing home is such a difficult decision and I never regretted our choice.

The manager and assistant manager at Holywell Park were always ready to talk with family members about our mother's condition, needs and general wellbeing. We were frequently updated if we were unable to visit on any particular day and there were no visiting restrictions.
In addition, the nurses and
carers all did a great job in making her stay at Holywell Park as comfortable as possible. As a family, we all feel that our mother was in the best place possible for her palliative care during the last 3 months of her life. At no time during this stressful period did any of us feel that we would rather have seen her in any other location.
The setting for the home is one of rural tranquility, with a former manor house set in beautiful grounds. Food and facilities were very good indeed and the catering staff were always obliging in responding to specific dietary requests. All the family would highly recommend Holywell Park with confidence.

I started my career at Holywell over 10 years ago as a nurse. I loved it straight away and being the General Manager has always been my dream job.


We think of ourselves like a family at Holywell and treat our residents with kindness, respect, and dignity.


We are a lively bunch, and no day is the same. I believe in looking at the person, not the illness.


My door is always open to residents, relatives, and staff. I like to say hello to every resident every day and have a chat.


Good communication and daily updates with all departments are essential for effective teamwork.


I encourage professional and personal growth through training, supervision and being self-aware.


I have 2 grown-up daughters and family overseas so we love to travel.


I play Pickleball every week, enjoy coastal walks, and lots of socialising and enjoy life at home and work.

I’ve enjoyed every minute of learning about the different aspects of care, there is so much more to being a care assistant than exclusively meeting personal care needs. I love building a good rapport with all the residents and providing an excellent standard of care in a person-centred approach. I love to go that extra mile to see a smile on our resident's faces.

I have worked at Holywell Park for over 13 years.


I began as a care assistant, through to team leader and now Activities and Wellbeing Leader.


I’m a Mum of 3 wonderful boys who are my world, they love coming in to see the residents, I want them to grow up see a care home setting as an inclusive environment.


I have been revamping the range of activities at Holywell Park to accommodate some of our newer residents and introduce new opportunities.


We are finding out so much more about our residents and able to give proper holistic care.


With a greater understanding of their backgrounds, I am able to act as an advocate to improve their daily lives.


Holywell Park has always had a family feel and now we can get back to normality post covid, we cannot wait to extend our family further and invite you all along on our journey.

I started working at Holywell Park in December 2017 as a Part-time Administrator and was then offered the full-time position of Home Administrator in January 2019 due to staff changes.
I am responsible for the smooth running of the payroll and other financial issues and work closely with our staff, residents, and families. I also work alongside our accounts team.
It’s a challenging but enjoyable role as no two days are the same.
Before having my children, who are now teenagers I worked as a payroll officer for an international advertising agency. I then took a work from home job with a media agency while raising them.
As a family we spend some of our weekends watching my daughter show jumping as she has her own horse.

My name is Derrick, I have been working at Holywell Park as the Kitchen Manager and Chef for the last 16 years.


I run the meal service and manage several kitchen staff ensuring legislation and paperwork is up to date.
