My father was admitted to the home from an assessment right after hospital treatment with a view to long term care. He's been looked after very well and his committed his carries were very nice. Myself and my family feel very happy about him being in the house and the carers have removed a lot of the worries about looking after my father.

I am so happy that we were lucky enough to find this beautiful home.
The staff are amazing and we feel really happy that Mum is so safe and wonderfully cared for.
It is a very difficult decision to make, but with the support of the home, it makes things a lot easier.
The building is very stately and very clean and tidy, the grounds and position are stunning.
Everybody I have met there on my visits are so friendly and caring. Always laugh and are so lovely towards the residence. The choice of endless food is amazing, it is like sitting in a restaurant. The staff work so incredibly hard and get the feeling that the whole operation is managed very well.
We would like to thank each and every one of you for looking after Mum and the care you offer to her.

Thank you so much.

We have found Holywell Park to be friendly and welcoming. All the staff care ably for the residents. We are reassured that the residents are in a safe environment with constant care and nursing. The range of activities provided for the resident's entertainment is good and the staff support and engagement is always kind.

My 91-year-old mother has been at Holywell Park for nearly two months. The staff and the care they have provided have restored her dignity, mobility and enjoyment in life. All of these had been lost as the result of a short stay in hospital after breaking her pelvis.

Overall Experience

My 85-year-old husband, with dementia, needs constant attendance. He wishes to 'be busy outdoors' at all times. He has been given minor gardening jobs; he has been allowed to roll his Bowls along the lawn and to practise golf putting, always with someone in attendance. I have been able to contact my husband by FaceTime and on the telephone because staff have helped by pressing the correct buttons. His room is bright, warm, clean and has an ensuite toilet. When it is time to leave him he is sometimes upset but there is always a nurse who will comfort him and ensure he is safe and happy. Staff have always ensured that all information sent to me has been copied to my daughter (at my request) to enable me and my family to make decisions. All staff have been incredibly kind and have always been willing to answer all my queries. I have always been kept informed if there have been any problems. I could not wish for a happier, safer place for my husband to stay.

Overall Experience
My sister has only been at Holywell for the past three months. She originally came for just six weeks but shortly afterwards she decided she would like to stay full term. The reasons my sister stayed was, she felt safe and cared for, along with cleanliness being top class, and the food was out of this world.
My own experience and observations are, at the first point of contact a friendly receptionist answers the phone with a very happy and cheery “Hello, Holywell park”. Puts you at ease straight away. I have found the managers very helpful in answering all my many questions. I congratulate Holywell park for retaining such good quality staff. The carers are brilliant with my sister, they happily provide all her needs. The nurses have made my sister very comfortable as she has a few health issues and they always contact me to report any changes.

My sister is profoundly deaf and all staff are very good at communication. I thank every one of you.

Mum came to Holywell Park following a long stay in the hospital after being abused at another home. Obviously, we were very concerned, however, we need not have worried. Mum's care at Holywell Park has been second to none, and we would have no hesitation in recommending.

Contact with care staff is friendly, and they are very pleasant with my husband. It is difficult to make a detailed commend as Covid has reduced visiting time so severely, but it's a great relief still to be allowed in.

The care my mother is receiving at Holywell Park is excellent. All the staff show a deep commitment to making the lives of residents as fulfilling as possible. The staff also show great respect for the residents, recognising that although they may now be frail and with poor memory they have lived vibrant and fulfilling lives in earlier years.

I have been very impressed with the arrangements around the Covid epidemic. Firstly that they have managed to keep Holywell Covid-free by their commitment, and secondly by enabling visits when possible that minimise anxiety to the residents.

I am pleased with the care my aunt has received. The staff understand her needs and requirements and are happy to assist with any queries raised.
The standard of procedures put in place to minimize any risk of infection are excellent. The arrangements for visiting, if permissible, have been well thought out.

Staff are always friendly, approachable and and willing to help and I am most grateful for all the care my aunt has received over the years; many thanks Holywell Park.

My mother has been living at Holywell for nearly four years and feels very much at home. Holywell is set in peaceful surroundings with beautiful grounds. The staff are extremely kind and caring towards the residents, rooms are kept clean and the food is good. A variety of activities are organised daily which residents enjoy. It has been greatly appreciated visits have been arranged since we have come out of lockdown.

The nursing care for my Dad at Holywell has been very comprehensive and I am very grateful. Staff have been very caring and have managed particularly well during the COVID restrictions. The outdoor visits have been well organised with a second sheltered space having been cleverly created. The home has a family feel about it and when I have contacted the manager with any query she has always got back to me promptly.

Our mother has been at Holywell Park Care Home for over 3-years, and she is extremely happy there. She has made numerous friends both with other residents and with members of the staff. The staff are conscientious, courteous and friendly and are always willing to help if there is a problem.

The home has had numerous improvements during the time our mother has been there, and the atmosphere is always welcoming when you arrive. My mother is lucky and has her own lounge area if she wants to watch her own tv or entertain her visitors.

There are plenty of activities arranged each day, and before the COVID 19 lockdown, there used to be outings every fortnight and lunch at the local pub every Thursday for those who wanted to go out.

My mother has lived at Holywell Park for five years now. She has vascular dementia, and no short term memory but is physically well and mobile, needing minimal nursing care. She has been very contented here and is always telling me how kind everyone is looking after her. The staff all genuinely care for all the residents and know them well as individuals. There are lots of activities available throughout the week, and themes change in the dining room according to the seasons, which means displays and menus are often varied. My mum particularly loves all the music and singing, and the visits by farm animals and pets. The home has had several managers since I’ve known it and has steadily improved in the last couple of years, particularly in terms of record-keeping, staffing levels, and communication. It really feels like a home, and I strongly recommend it for residents who don’t have challenging behaviour.

My father and I had visited a number of care homes before deciding on Holywell Park. The property is well maintained, furnished to a good standard and doesn't smell like a lot of care homes do. He has received excellent care since staying at Holywell Park. The staff have been very professional and caring, even when my father has been very challenging and aggressive towards them. There are always plenty of activities for the resident to participate in and quiet rooms if they don't want to. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Holywell Park.

Becky Cooper-ThornJob Title:Head of CareJoined: 2003

I have worked at Holywell Park for 20 years, I started as a housekeeper and I have worked my way up through housekeeping, kitchen assistant, care assistant and team leader, then finally settling as Head of the Care team which I have been doing for the past 4 years. I am extremely determined. I feel my confidence and knowledge have grown massively over the years. I’ve enjoyed every minute of learning about the different aspects of care, there is so much more to being a care assistant than exclusively meeting personal care needs. I love building a good rapport with all the residents and providing an excellent standard of care in a person-centred approach. I love to go that extra mile to see a smile on our resident's faces.

Jo LinghamJob Title:Head of ActivitiesJoined: 2010

I have worked at Holywell Park for over 13 years.

I began as a care assistant, through to team leader and now Activities and Wellbeing Leader.

I’m a Mum of 3 wonderful boys who are my world, they love coming in to see the residents, I want them to grow up see a care home setting as an inclusive environment.

I have been revamping the range of activities at Holywell Park to accommodate some of our newer residents and introduce new opportunities.

We are finding out so much more about our residents and able to give proper holistic care.

With a greater understanding of their backgrounds, I am able to act as an advocate to improve their daily lives.

Holywell Park has always had a family feel and now we can get back to normality post covid, we cannot wait to extend our family further and invite you all along on our journey.
