Hello, I would love to say thank you for the care attention warmth and understanding given to my dad since he has lived with you, this makes me comfortable knowing he is in safe hands. Dad has been very unsettled recently due to illness and worries about moving away from the area town he knows best, but the smiley happy staff that you employ really make a difference to everyone's mental well-being. Thank you for everything.

My partner has been a resident in Maurice House for over two years. Despite his move to the care home happening during very trying times (COVID), he has always been cared for to a high standard and treated with dignity.

The relaxed atmosphere in Maurice House suits his needs very well and results in him being calm and happy. I am always made to feel very welcome when visiting.

Thank you so much for your review, moving into a care home is difficult at any time but was especially hard during covid. Thank you for trusting us to look after your partner.

My mother has been in the home for two and a half years and we organised a meeting with the management of Maurice House to discuss our mother's financial situation. The person we met was very helpful, understood our concerns and pointed us in the right direction with regard to organising support.
The home itself is clean, bright, tidy and well-maintained and the staff are caring and diligent.

There are lots of activities organised if the residents are able-bodied enough to join in.

When my wife became a resident at The Lodge it was very distressing for us after 64 years married and never been apart, however, she eventually settled and started to interact with the carers. Every day I could see the excellent quality of care my wife received. The difficult times my wife experienced were outweighed by the good ones. The carers would dance, sing and watch my wife play the piano and laugh at her sense of humour. As time progressed she became incapacitated after breaking her hip. She was so distressed and confused that she had to be sedated. The final stages of her life were very serene, carers would monitor her needs periodically and treated her with dignity. Our three children and myself stayed with her day and night to the end.

We were always made welcome and The Lodge became my second home. The care given by the management, carers and housekeeping is unique and priceless, they are without doubt sterling people and I am indebted to them for the care they gave my dear wife.

My mother has been in the dementia unit at Maurice House Care Home since April 2016. The care she has received has been excellent throughout, with caring and attentive staff, in lovely surroundings.

I am always kept up to date with any developments. Her longevity, ninety-three now, is due in no small measure to how she has been looked after, including her recovery from a broken hip.

A comfortable, nicely furnished home in lovely grounds. Staff are attentive and caring and residents are provided with a wide range of stimulating activities and opportunities take part in visits around the local area. The menu is varied and of good quality and visitors are made to feel welcome. My father has complex care needs but is always treated with compassion and patience. Medical issues are dealt with in a highly professional manner.

I must thank the manager and assistant manager for the smooth running of Maurice House and all Mum's carers who treat her like their own Mum. There are too many carers to mention but they are all kind and caring.
Mum's mobility has waned, but the care hasn't. As a family, quite often other duties call, so it's reassuring to know Mum is in good hands. The food and facilities are excellent, I often fancy a break there myself getting waited on! It has a nice vibe and every member of the staff is very upbeat. Obviously, nothing is ever perfect, but any issues are responded to and resolved. There is always updating and improvement going on. The grounds are beautiful and restful. It's lovely to have a beer in the bar when Mum's up to it, or on the verandah in sunny times. Or grabbing a free coffee on arrival for a visit is nice. So all in all, top marks.

Thanks.

My mother has received first-class end-of-life care - all staff, from cleaning to nursing staff and management, have provided a caring, sensitive service. There have been challenging moments caused by her condition, which have been met valiantly! Maurice House does need updating - but the people who work and care for the residents don't. The staff make the place a welcoming environment.

Mum moved into Poppy Lodge approximately four months ago. Her room is lovely and always kept beautifully clean. All the ladies/gentlemen caring for Mum and the other residents are extremely helpful and friendly. There are plenty of activities and the minibus outings are really enjoyable for Mum. The food is really good - I myself have sampled the roast Sunday lunch.

Mum has been at Maurice House Care Home since September 2022. This was just as the rooms on her wing had been refurbished. The room itself is very plain with simple furniture and hospital bed, you are allowed and encouraged to make the room your own which is great.
The en-suite is amazing with everything Mum needs and if she wants to have a bath there is a great bathroom with everything to assist getting in and out.
The staff have been excellent throughout, very approachable and nothing is ever a problem and they also always look in on Mum with a friendly face to see if there is anything she needs.
The activities downstairs are on throughout the day with a visual board for everyone to see and a printed leaflet delivered to all the residents. From carpet bowls, chair yoga to fun games like bingo, all are encouraged to participate.
You have a large patio with a pagoda to the rear leading to six acres for you to walk and explore.

We, as a family, are more than happy to recommend Maurice House.

Thank you to all the kind caring staff who were involved in my wife's admission today. Wonderful professional staff who made everything seem so easy on what could have been a distressing day. Maurice House is more like a luxury country hotel than a nursing home. Thank you.

I took my father into Maurice House on 3rd September 2021 and I have never looked back! He is so well looked after by the team in Poppy Lodge. He looks so well and is dressed in the same combination of clothes that Dad and I would choose! All of the team really care about him, and all of the residents. They are engaged on so many levels with the different activities and dad particularly loves the rides out on the bus.
I always thank everyone as I don’t think relatives realise what’s out there in respect of quality of care. Premises can be shiny and new but if you don’t have the team to deliver that top notch care (Dad's previous home a prime example) I was still worrying about him, now I don’t have to if I can’t get in for a week or two!

I can’t praise any of the team enough! Thank you for everything you do!

My mum moved into Maurice House in July 2019 and from day one was made to feel very welcome. She had a lovely room with an ensuite and the hygiene and cleanliness were of the highest standard. All the staff were very friendly and caring. Mum's health, drugs and wellbeing were closely monitored. Mum enjoyed the gardens, the sea views and the activities, particularly the minibus trips.

All in all, an excellent home!

Mum lived at Maurice Lodge Dementia Unit for her last two and a half years. She was so well looked after, loved and cared for every day. The staff are amazing and always treated Mum with respect and saw the person behind the dementia. They are amazing people and deserve medals for all the hard work and commitment we will always be thankful.

Father has been a resident for approximately two years. The room is spacious, clean and residents are encouraged to bring personal objects. Staff are always happy, polite and helpful. Full range of entertainments, activities and outings for residents stimulation. Visitors can make own refreshments. The home itself is large, well decorated and maintained. There are no unpleasant "smells" which so often accompany care homes. Maurice House provides both residential and nursing care, depending on personal requirements.
