Very positive.
Residents feel genuinely cared for.
The food is fab.
The daily entertainment is good fun. I'd stay there no problem! A well managed establisment.
Good maintenance needs to be supported by life cycle replacement, which is lacking at the moment.
Reply from Katie Wade, Manager at Halsey HouseThank you so much for such lovely feedback. Its a great honour to care for our lovely residents and support families.

I would just like to thank the Restaurant Manager and staff for their efforts in making the dining room so pretty this Mothers Day.The swathes of pink ribbon on the chairs and tables, pink carnations on the table, made a very attractive display. It was such a nice environment in which to have lunch
with my mother. I remain confident that Mais House is one of the best places she could be for her needs.
Reply from Susan Knight, Registered Manager at Mais HouseThank you so much for your kind feedback. We are delighted to hear that you and your mother enjoyed the Mothers Day dining experience and that the teams efforts created such a lovely atmosphere.

We would love to welcome you to more of our events. Our dining team always enjoy having families join us for lunch, dinner, and celebrations, and we pride ourselves on creating memorable experiences for residents and their loved ones.

Every time we visit my mother-in-law at Mais House, we are reassured that she is receiving the best possible care. All staff who work there, whether in kitchen, domestic or clinical - always name-check her and show genuine care and affection. We must also say how grateful we are to the superb culinary
and dining team, who have managed to tempt her into putting on a little much-needed weight. Having eaten in the dining room ourselves, it is easy to see why! With our sincere thanks for all you do.
Reply from Susan Knight, Registered Manager at Mais HouseThank you so much for taking the time to share such a kind and heartfelt review. It truly means a great deal to all of us at Mais House.
We are delighted to hear that your mother-in-law feels supported and well cared for, and that every member of our team from clinical to domestic to catering is helping to make her feel known, valued, and comfortable. Building genuine relationships with our residents is at the heart of what we do, and your words are a wonderful acknowledgement of that.
We are especially pleased that the culinary and dining team have been able to encourage her appetite and support her in regaining some much-needed weight. They will be thrilled to hear your feedback and we completely agree, the food is rather tempting!
Thank you again for your thoughtful message. Your appreciation means so much to the team, and we are honoured to be part of your mother-in-law's care.
Warmest regards,

My first impression of Halsey Hoyse when initially phoning, then visiting to view on behalf of my mum, was how helpful and kind the administration staff were. The building itself was spacious and clean, and I was impressed with the various communal rooms and the main dining room.
During the four months
that mum was a resident, I was happy with the standard of care (although I sometimes felt that the carers were overloaded). The nursing staff, housekeeping and carers were all very kind and cheerful and did their best to make mum's last months as comfortable as they could. Her room was always kept clean and I was impressed with the standard of cleaning in the ensuite.

I only visited once, but was impressed with so many aspects of this care home. To start, the friendliness and efficiency of the staff was comforting. The dining room had the atmosphere of a restaurant and the menu could be tailored to suit individual tastes. There was a lovely garden where residents
could go out to or be taken whenever they wanted. Altogether very impressive. My friend sadly was only there for a short time but he had the very best ofcare.

Today I attended "arts uplift" which is an 1 1/2 hour class for the over 65's. It's an incredible space with a wonderful teacher have learnt so much. Tomorrow I will be there for a Tai Chi class which will give me a chance to help with my fitness. The cafe provides good food and drink at very reasonable
cost, great selection. I go to the the men's shed and am slowly learning how to operate things and make wooden items. It's a great place to be.
