Banbury Road, Southam, CV47 2BL
Galanos House is situated on the edge of Southam, a small market town in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside. Last year Galanos House celebrated its 50th anniversary of being open with a whole host of challenges, activities and even a World record attempt with the local community.
Galanos House currently has 91 bedrooms, offering residential, dementia, respite and nursing care. Each day about 12 people living with dementia come and spend the day at the home, giving their relatives a well-earnt rest. The home runs a monthly Dementia café offering support and advise to people living with dementia and their carers.
Last year the home was rated Outstanding with CQC. This is the second inspection that has resulted with an Outstanding rating. The home also has recognition for their End of Life/Palliative Care being awarded a Beacon rating by Gold Standard Framework for end of life care.
One of the homes staff, Head of Catering, is the Legions longest standing employee, having clocked up 48 years service to the home.
This year will see the home expand with a further 10 bedrooms on Poppy Lodge, our specialist dementia lodge, a specialist day care unit for up to 25 people and the Legions first Community Hub.
