My mum has been a resident at The Old Vicarage for just over two years, suffering from mixed dementia and with mobility issues which have both significantly progressed. Before lockdown, I visited most days and found the staff at all levels, amazing. The residents are treated with dignity and respect and I found the interaction between all the staff (from the manager down) and residents lovely to see and listen to, almost as if they were dealing with elderly family members. My mum lived on her own for years and can find the hustle and bustle of the communal spaces very tiring. The staff respect this and take her to her room when it all gets too much, even though this makes so much extra work for them and is something not allowed when in respite care at other places. Any lack of facilities and activities are more than made up for by the care given. I can only agree wholeheartedly with all the other reviews given.

A very nice home and pleased I chose it for my Dad. The staff and the Manager are great and very kind and attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Dad is happy here and well looked after. I recommend it.

The management and staff of The Old Vicarage Care Home provide an exceptional level of care. My mother is treated with dignity at all times. The staff make sure that her needs are met and as her daughter, I know that she is being looked after by caring friendly staff. The management always informs me if she is unwell, they will take immediate steps to call a doctor or nurse to ensure her speedy recovery. I would highly recommend the home to anyone looking for first-rate care for their loved one.

My mum has been a resident here for almost two years and has had problems with mobility, dementia and deafness and failing eyesight. We have visited many times and been warmly welcomed and can't fault the care she has received. The staff are friendly and cheerful, often in the face of very trying circumstances! And very approachable and responsive if we have any minor concerns. We feel they do their very best to meet individual needs and respect the dignity of the residents. We have always felt our mum to be in safe and caring hands and are particularly grateful for the very intensive and loving care she received in the last few weeks of her life - not to mention the kindness shown to us at such a difficult time.

The care provided is personal and very special. As well as dementia my wife also needs a special diet, medication for controlling her Osteoporosis, Thyroiditis and Depression. Care for all of these is delivered with courtesy and respect.
The home is situated in a small village with a rural setting, has a lovely garden and is well managed.

I had bitter experiences with other care homes, seduced by glossy brochures and immaculate facades. You will find none of that at the Old Vicarage. Their focus is on providing good care and that is what I want for my wife, therefore it receives my recommendation.
