Overall I have found all staff members willing and helpful. The home is very clean and tidy and organised. My mother's room likewise checked and cleaned regularly however it is a little on the small side, I am aware there are limitations due to the buildings architecture. Food is good generally and
a reasonable choice offered .
Safety and security appears to be up to regulation standards. I would recommend the establishment to others.

My mum has lived in St Peter's now for almost 7 years! She is really settled and I am so grateful for the top-quality care she receives from all the staff. Any concerns that I do have regarding mum's health are always treated seriously and with compassion...the Manager and staff are always willing to
discuss any issues of concern and they genuinely care for each and every resident. They really do go that extra mile to make sure that the resident's are living the best life they can in the home. Thank you to all the Staff who work tirelessly caring for my mum with compassion, integrity and dignity.

preferences.

St Peters Care Home has turned out to be the perfect place for my mum. She has been a resident for two and a half years now. She settled in really quickly and the care from all staff at every level has been professional and caring, but mum also looks on them as friends. She is well cared for and listened
to and her views are taken into consideration. She very much feels part of the home. As a visitor I have always been made welcome and feel very comfortable visiting. I feel lucky to have got my mum a place at St Peters.

Most staff are friendly and attentive. I get the impression that there is a shortage though.
Decoration of rooms and corridors is an ongoing issue, and needs regular attention.
The non-urgent alarm going unanswered remains the biggest problem.

My brother has been at St Peter's Care Home for 2.5 years now and I can honestly say I couldn't be happier that I chose this place for him. My first impressions were that he will be very well looked after and cared for. St Peter's had (and still has) a warm, friendly and caring feeling to it together
with smiling and happy staff who made Michael feel 'at home' and safe. When he arrived he was poorly and frail and needed 24 hour care. I was so concerned for his recovery following a cancer operation. He has always received excellent care in every aspect and within one month he had put on a stone in weight. What a huge relief! He has gone from strength to strength with the care he has received from ALL the lovely management and staff. He is a permanent resident and knowing his future is happy and secure gives me and our family the peace of mind we need. I cannot fault St Peter's. Also I am extremely grateful for the support and kindness they show to me. So grateful to you all xxx

My mother has been in St Peter's since November 24 and we have constantly found all levels of staff professional caring and very friendly and supportive, the home is always very clean and welcoming and I have found that I don't worry about her if I can't get in to see her for a day or two because I
know the staff will be doing their usual excellent job of caring for her.

My mother-in-law is thoroughly enjoying her time at St Peter's. She enjoys both the company of other residents and staff. She is extremely well cared for by all staff members and enjoys the various entertainment and wide variety of food.

Moving to this care home was a carefully considered transition. It was an emotionally exhausting experience for those closest to my grandmother as it needed to be the right establishment to meet needs but also to support the well-being of someone leaving their home of nearly 60 years plus.
From the
moment my grandmother moved she was made to feel welcome by all staff as were we as her family. The staff continue to show care and consideration treating my grandmother with the dignity and respect that she deserves. Thank you St Peter's.
Reply from Nicola Masters, Service Manager at St Peter's Care HomeMoving to a care home is indeed a big decision, especially when you've lived in your own home for many years. We're absolutely delighted your grandmother has settled in so well and so quickly and feels at home here. She is a pleasure to care for!

Mum was assessed in her home environment before having a month respite in February. Staff were amazing to Mum and her visitors from start to finish, kind and friendly, doing all they could to make her feel welcomed and comfortable. Mum was fully included in all activities within the home and joined
in with more than we thought she would. We can't thank the staff enough and will not hesitate to book another stay when required. The home had a comfortable, homely feel. Would totally recommend this home to anyone.

I have no hesitation in recommending St Peter's as a care home for loved ones. My uncle has been a resident at St Peter's Care Home since November 2018, and we have been very satisfied with the care/support he has received during that time, particularly given the tremendous extra pressure on management and staff relating to the Covid situation. The general facilities etc, have
also met expectations.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.410)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.410) out of 10 for St Peter's Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 11 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.635 for St Peter's Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (82 Excellents x 5) + (42 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 126 Ratings = 4.635
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.775 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Peter's Care Home is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 = 3.775
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 48 registered maximum number of service users is 9.6, which has been reached with 11 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
