Overall I have found all staff members willing and helpful. The home is very clean and tidy and organised. My mother's room likewise checked and cleaned regularly however it is a little on the small side, I am aware there are limitations due to the buildings architecture. Food is good generally and
a reasonable choice offered .
Safety and security appears to be up to regulation standards. I would recommend the establishment to others.

My mum has lived in St Peter's now for almost 7 years! She is really settled and I am so grateful for the top-quality care she receives from all the staff. Any concerns that I do have regarding mum's health are always treated seriously and with compassion...the Manager and staff are always willing to
discuss any issues of concern and they genuinely care for each and every resident. They really do go that extra mile to make sure that the resident's are living the best life they can in the home. Thank you to all the Staff who work tirelessly caring for my mum with compassion, integrity and dignity.

St Peters Care Home has turned out to be the perfect place for my mum. She has been a resident for two and a half years now. She settled in really quickly and the care from all staff at every level has been professional and caring, but mum also looks on them as friends. She is well cared for and listened
to and her views are taken into consideration. She very much feels part of the home. As a visitor I have always been made welcome and feel very comfortable visiting. I feel lucky to have got my mum a place at St Peters.

Most staff are friendly and attentive. I get the impression that there is a shortage though.
Decoration of rooms and corridors is an ongoing issue, and needs regular attention.
The non-urgent alarm going unanswered remains the biggest problem.

Westerleigh Nursing Home

Both of my parents were cared for at Westerleigh in the last months of their lives. We selected the home for my father, with his consent, because of the excellent care my Mother had received seven years ago. Due to the nature of the building (a converted house) it is not as 'flashy' as some newer homes
but it is very clean, well decorated, and very welcoming. My father's room was light, bright and newly decorated. Family and friends are welcome to visit at any reasonable time. You can also bring your dog.
There is a wide choice of food at mealtimes and a range of social activities, for those who wish to take part. The (many) staff are all very friendly and seem to genuinely care about the residents. Being a nursing home, there are always nurses on duty, who were very good at keeping me updated on my father and his medical needs. If you are looking for a nursing home for a relative I would recommend contacting Westerleigh.
Reply from Jacqueline Anderson, Business Manager at Westerleigh Nursing HomeWe were grateful to have had the opportunity to care for both of your Parents, thank you for leaving us such a lovely review, your kind words mean a lot to all of us here at Westerleigh.

If only I had known how good it is here I wouldn't have worried and spent so long awake crying. As its not easy when we have this decision to make. We have just had a very pleasant Christmas together, my dinner cooked as well. Lots of fun and entertainment before the big day. Thanks to everyone for
all you do.
Reply from Jacqueline Anderson, Business Manager at Westerleigh Nursing HomeWe were so pleased that you were able to join your loved one for Christmas here at Westerleigh and also in the run up to the big day itself, when as you say there was lots of fun and entertainment, about which we had some lovely feedback from Residents, their families and friends. We are so fortunate to have such a talented team of colleagues here, including an awesome catering team, who go the distance and more to make sure Residents get the things they like to eat and drink, they say there is so much choice it can be difficult to make a decision! Thank you for your lovely comments and as a team we really appreciate you taking the time and trouble to let us know how very pleasant Christmas was for you both, and to thank us.

My brother has been at St Peter's Care Home for 2.5 years now and I can honestly say I couldn't be happier that I chose this place for him. My first impressions were that he will be very well looked after and cared for. St Peter's had (and still has) a warm, friendly and caring feeling to it together
with smiling and happy staff who made Michael feel 'at home' and safe. When he arrived he was poorly and frail and needed 24 hour care. I was so concerned for his recovery following a cancer operation. He has always received excellent care in every aspect and within one month he had put on a stone in weight. What a huge relief! He has gone from strength to strength with the care he has received from ALL the lovely management and staff. He is a permanent resident and knowing his future is happy and secure gives me and our family the peace of mind we need. I cannot fault St Peter's. Also I am extremely grateful for the support and kindness they show to me. So grateful to you all xxx

My mother has been in St Peter's since November 24 and we have constantly found all levels of staff professional caring and very friendly and supportive, the home is always very clean and welcoming and I have found that I don't worry about her if I can't get in to see her for a day or two because I
know the staff will be doing their usual excellent job of caring for her.

Our dad was admitted to Westerleigh for end of life care. The building is tired but they have started the process of updating it.
All the staff from management, nursing and ancillary were very kind and caring towards dad and his daily needs and his comfort were of paramount importance to them.
The
support they provided to us as a family was amazing, especially in dad's final few hours.
I have no hesitation on recommending them to anyone looking for compassionate care for their loved one.
Reply from Jacqueline Anderson, Business Manager at Westerleigh Nursing HomeThank you very much for your extremely positive and kind review. The leadership team and our colleagues are so appreciative of your review as we endeavour to look after not only the residents themselves but their family and friends too, to provide truly holistic and wrap around care and we are privileged to have had the opportunity to care for your father. As you rightly say, we are underway with updating the interior environment and are pleased to have now completed phases one and two, and are actively working on phase three, it is already looking more modern and appealing, and we are pleased to have had positive comments from recent visitors. Thank you again for your review, it means so much to us as a team.

My partner had the privilege to have two weeks respite at Westerleigh Nursing Home. He thoroughly enjoyed his stay there. All the staff that he meet or involved in his care were very caring and nothing was a problem. He will certainly be returning in the near future. We would certainly recommend Westerleigh
Nursing Home who is looking for high quality nursing care for a loved one.

Reply from Jacqueline Anderson, Business Manager at Westerleigh Nursing HomeKevin. Thank you for your positive review and recommendation about Westerleigh Nursing Home and we are delighted that you find our colleagues friendly and caring, and that the food is good. We all strive here to offer the best possible care and support and it is a whole team approach, that in addition to the Registered Nurses and Health Care Assistants, includes our Head Cook and their team along with our other colleagues. It is great that we get such regular and excellent feedback about the food offered at Westerleigh, as you know, there is such a choice of meals and snacks it is often difficult to decide what to have. Our 24-hour availability of meals and snacks is a real bonus for residents who do not always want three full meals a day, so they can choose the lighter meal options and then have a snack when they like.

My mum was admitted for end-of-life care. She was a resident for just over 2 weeks until she passed. We met with the manager prior to admission where her needs, wishes and likes were discussed in depth. Throughout her short stay, the care, compassion and dignity shown to Mum was excellent. We were kept
advised of her condition at all times. I would highly recommend this nursing home.
