We moved Mum to Woodside in January 2020, from another local care home. I wasn't happy with the way Mum was being treated, so my main priority was a high standard of care and sense of dignity. Woodside has this in spades. From the start, I could tell it was a caring, homely environment where care is taken very seriously, from comfort and the floor pads which alert staff to residents getting out of bed, to medication. The carers were all doing just that, caring. Not sitting about, filling in paperwork and ignoring residents' needs or chatting to each other. The place is bustling with staff and the delicious food never stops coming out (from the huge kitchen) which suits Mum! She was welcomed by everyone and sat down with a nice cuppa and afternoon tea. The place is dated and being renovated, so don't judge it on aesthetics – if you look closely, everyone feels at home, so it actually feels just right for the residents. And the manager is super responsive to my questions and concerns.

Woodside is an exceptional care home. Just before Christmas 2019, my mother was unwell and couldn’t stay at home. Management recognised our predicament and immediately allowed my mother to stay with them for respite care. All of the staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they have taken away the concerns and worries of looking after an elderly relative. Mum had always intended to return home with a private care support service but having spent time living at Woodside, Mum decided to stay on as a permanent resident. As a family, we are confident that Mum is being well looked after. She has plenty to eat and plenty of cups of tea. There are organised activities and always staff around to support the residents. Outside of the coronavirus lockdown, we are able to visit Mum at any time. I would definitely recommend Woodside to others looking for a care home.

The level of care the staff give is superb, it gives me peace of mind to know that my Dad is being so well cared for. There are group and one to one activities ranging from puzzles to singers coming into the home to entertain everyone. My Dad's room is clean, comfortable and warm. Thank you all.

Woodside has provided brilliant care for my mother, who has dementia.
The staff are caring. and my Mum seems very happy.
I visited several care homes before choosing Woodside, it has a very homely feel to it, and I am kept informed about how my mum is doing.

Thank you all for the work you do.

The home, communal area and Mum's room is kept clean and tidy. My Mum is well cared for and whenever I visit, she is well dressed. The staff are fantastic, nothing is ever too much trouble and the meals are well presented and plentiful. Should my Mum ever want a snack or drink throughout the day or night, it's never a problem.

My Dad has been at Woodside now for several months. During this time we have found the staff to be very friendly and caring. The home manager is very approachable, should I ever have any questions about Dads care she is always happy to discuss this with me. The home is currently having an extension being built, which has created a bit of mess, but despite this the home is kept clean and tidy.

My Mum has been in need of full time care for quite a while and residential care is something I have been very reluctant to consider. But Mum is currently at Woodside and I was so impressed with the level of kindness and care I and my family have witnessed her receiving.

Mum stayed at Woodside for 3 weeks and as I guess is normal, she felt nervous and apprehensive when she first arrived, however, we did not need to worry ourselves for leaving mum "alone" in a new room, the staff are fantastic, helpful and always ready to help, assist and advise. Mum is at home now, the stay was a respite period but on taking her back home, she is now beginning to think that this is where she would like to be, so watch this space.

Our thanks and gratitude to all at Woodside for there help and for taking care of mum.

My father has been a resident since June 2015. He initially found it hard to adjust but the management and staff made the difficult transition as smooth as possible. I cannot praise all the staff highly enough. Dad was provided with all his needs in a caring compassionate and safe environment. The staff have a very good understanding of the demands of residents with dementia, which I am sure gives their care a premium edge. Dad celebrated his 90th birthday recently and when he returned after, we took him out for lunch and a nice surprise awaited him on his return, a party with entertainment. It really made his day.

We have always been made welcome when we visit and we are always asked if we would like a cup of tea or coffee. One of the most welcoming aspects of Woodside has been the peace of mind that their care has brought to us. They care about the wider family, not just the resident. This was most evident when my father passed away recently after a short illness. Thank you all at Woodside.

My father has been a resident since September 2017. The staff are attentive and genuinely caring. My father has advanced dementia and his complex needs are met consistently and to a high standard. The home environment is welcoming and the atmosphere is calm and relaxed. Management and staff really do go the extra mile to welcome not just the resident but family involvement too. My father is treated with dignity and respect.

It's a year on - Mum has been at Woodside care home since August 2016. My two sisters and I each visit the care home weekly and are extremely pleased with the level of care our mum receives. Mum is not very sociable and keeps strange hours - but we are impressed with the level of attentiveness Mum receives. As soon as we get there the care assistant will tell us where she is, they seem to know exactly where each of their residents are at any given moment. Even though Mum is not particularly sociable she still gets included in outings and enjoys these little trips out. Whenever my sisters or myself visit we are welcomed with a smile and never feel we are getting in the way. Very happy with Woodside care home, thank you to all the staff.

Residents are treated like kings and queens and are constantly asked if they are alright. All staff are familiar with resident's names which add a personal touch and ensures a homely atmosphere. Juice is always available in several locations and the tea trolley has regular outings. The food is good with meals being varied but also of the traditional type favoured by the older generation. Visiting is allowed without an appointment and a warm welcome can always be guaranteed at the front door. The manager's door is always open to both residents and visitors.

My mother was at Woodside for over three years and has been very well looked after during that time. The home always has a warm and bright atmosphere and the team always very caring, creating a cosy and family feeling for residents and visitors. We have always been kept fully informed of her health and any other issues, and had a good level of communication with the team, especially during our weekly visits. We are very grateful for the care provided and never had to worry, as we knew she was in in the safest of hands. I have nothing but praise for the very professional but compassionate way in which they cared for my mother, especially towards the end of her life when a high level of personal care was required.

My Mother was always treated with respect and understanding during her time at Woodside. In the last weeks of her life, the carers showed her great compassion. The family visited day and night so could experience first hand the dedication and professionalism shown by everyone there. To say a lovely family atmosphere is apparent sounds a cliché but is nevertheless true, as we were always made to feel very welcome. It was a great comfort to us that Mother looked on Woodside as her home. Our genuine thanks to you all.
