I feel staff listen to my concerns and where possible, act to address them or reassure me. I am treated with respect and the staff are always cheerful, friendly and encouraging.
I believe there is a good relationship between the staff and all who provide medical care to the residents.
Staff always act professionally and are readily available to the residents and their relatives.

This is a very safe environment at Oxenford House. I feel very content and safe here.

My mother has been in Oxenford for almost 2 years and I've been really happy with the care from the start. The carers are amazing, they continue to show great kindness, patience and care. There's also a good deal of laughter. A great range of activities are provided, not all of which mum wants to join in on but she's given the freedom to make her own decisions - even though she probably misses out on some fun! They had a lovely visit to the seaside in the summer which she still talks about. I'm always given a warm welcome when I arrive and they put on some lovely events for residents and family. There's a very happy atmosphere in the Home. There seems to be little change in the staff which must reflect on good and happy management. My mum's words probably sum it up 'I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.'

Mum has now been at The Abbeyfield Oxenford for five months following her transfer from a nursing home, and she has settled in so well. She is fortunate to be one of the more active residents so can make full use of all the facilities and activities on offer, from what I see whenever I visit, it is heartwarming. The residents are all treated with kindness, thoughtfulness and dignity. All the staff are cheerful and friendly. The home is spotless and sweet-smelling. The food is varied appealing and much praised. Her room is lovely and there is an excellent activity programme. It is a very welcoming place in all respects.

Mum has been a permanent resident at Oxenford House for 5 years. She quickly settled in, thanks to the staff, and has really enjoyed participating in the many activities on offer (particularly musical). As her health has gradually deteriorated, with the development of dementia, the staff have excelled in providing increasing levels of care and reassurance to her. Mum has enjoyed the food and the lovely garden. I have been struck by the endless patience of the carers and their exceptional kindness to her. I would fully recommend Oxenford House to anyone seeking a welcoming, clean and safe environment for their loved ones.

Mum has been a resident at The Abbeyfield Oxenford Society for almost six months and during that time her Carers have been wonderful. Without exception they are kind, friendly and have endless patience. The home is always clean, fresh and welcoming. The management is very efficient and there are plenty of interesting activities and outings for residents who wish to interact. I would highly recommend Oxenford House.

My mother has lived at Oxenford House for 6 months. I cannot speak highly enough of the care that she has received there. The staff are an incredible team who work together to ensure that all my mother's needs are met. Along with managing her practical care, a great deal of effort is put into making her life as rich as possible. She loves being taken out for walks and taking part in all of the activities that are on offer. The new vehicle, which has just been purchased, means that she can now be taken out to places a little further away and that has made her life much more interesting. I always feel very welcome whenever I call in to visit, and so do the rest of my family.

I struggle to find sufficient words with which to thank you and your lovely team of caring carers who wonderfully looked after my wife for the last two weeks. Thank you. Caring for these old folk is not just a job, it is a vocation in The Abbeyfield Oxenford Society Care Home and done with professionalism and tender loving care!
My wife, aged 93, has dementia and cardiac failure. She can just about shuffle but is very forgetful and quite confused by both day and night. I am only 90 this year but have some physical limitations. It has been my privilege to be her personal carer for over five years now but it is increasingly demanding.
My wife appeared to respond very well to Oxenford, your organised routines, the presence of other old folks around and the gentle help and attention of your great team of carers. It was amazing to see her participate in the chair-based exercises and eat her meals with enthusiasm. Of course, she also dozes comfortably in her chair, as do many of her companions, but she looks contented, is safe and watched over. Altogether, I was happy with everything that was done and realise that I cannot look after her nearly as well at home. Indeed, I hope that you will welcome her back to Oxenford soon.

Because I live very close to Oxenford I have been able to visit more often and longer than any other relatives. Unobtrusively I have been able to observe various activities and see the genuine affection that many of your carers have for the old folk, especially those who need the most help. From my observations, I feel happy and confident that my wife was, and would be, safe and lovingly cared for in Oxenford. Thank you to all the carers there, individually and collectively.

Thanks to the excellent staff The Abbeyfield Oxenford Society enjoys a very pleasant ambience. That, combined with the great food, makes it not only a relaxing environment for the residents but somewhere you know your relative is going to be happy and well looked after.

Such a wonderful home from home. During December everyone has been involved in activities, making gingerbread, Christmas cakes, decorations, reminiscing about Christmas past and singing. This is just a few of the things they have been doing. All the staff are kind and always have time for their residents and their relatives! Mum is happy here and that says it all.

Mum stayed at The Abbeyfield Oxenford House for two weeks respite following her illness. She received excellent care throughout and on leaving said 'I am only going home thanks to you helping me to get better'. Everyone was professional and compassionate and concerned to meet Mum's individual needs.

My mother has been a resident at Oxenford House for 8 years and the staff continue to care for her as her dependency has increased. I am so grateful she has not had to move on to another care home as she has become more frail and forgetful. It means so much to the family that we have a relationship with those who look after our mother thoughtfully and patiently and that she trusts them to do so too.

The staff and facilities are to be congratulated, especially since covid 19 has been an issue in the community. The staff are friendly and supportive of my father's care needs. My father's medical welfare is well managed and I've been kept informed about any issues concerning his health. Overall, the building and rooms are well maintained and the garden is well kept, landscaped and seasonally planted to create an inviting and safe area for residents and visitors. The Abbeyfield has held several resident and family events over the past 12 months, including Christmas, which have been well organised and enjoyed by all attending.

Dad has been very well cared for, especially since Covid struck, when he aged quite a bit, they have been so patient with him. He always seems to enjoy his meals (and if their social events are anything to go by, the chef is excellent) and is always looking smart and well-tended. I always felt confident that Dad is well looked after.

Mum has been at Oxenford House since March 2020, she arrived just before the first lockdown. Everyone at the home has treated mum with care and dignity since she arrived, getting to know her likes and dislikes. With the restrictions lockdown have brought every effort has been made to enable updates on mum, with help she even embraced using Skype. Due to mums severe macular degeneration issues I was unable to use garden visits. Since last autumn though I’ve been able to visit mum using the micro pod, it allows us to sit as close as possible so mum can see me with both of us staying safe.

March 2021 saw mums 100th birthday which everyone made very special. A beautiful cake was made for mum with a picture of her favourite dog on it, I joined her at the pod for cake. Mum herself says everyone is very kind to her and the food is good, for a fussy eater that is high praise. Thank you to all the staff for making mum's new home so safe and comfortable.

My father (97) moved into The Abbeyfield Oxenford Society at a very difficult time in May 2020. It was during lockdown, he was recuperating from a broken hip, losing my mum and his little dog, all in the previous eight months. He was isolated for two weeks due to Covid risks. Unfortunately I still haven't been able to see his room or view inside the home. Very difficult times.
However he is settled, his general health has improved and he looks well. He enjoys the food and says he is happy there. The staff are kind and caring and very approachable.

It was a difficult decision for me to make to put him in Oxenford House, but it's wonderful to see the difference in him now.

My father moved to Oxenford House in early 2020, settled in quickly and was very happy there. I think that was largely due to the happy atmosphere in the home and the excellent personalised care and genuine affection he received from the staff. Many of the carers have worked at Oxenford for several years and it is obvious that for them it is more of a vocation than just a job. The home fully deserves its CQC rating of outstanding for care. I have been particularly impressed by how well and cheerfully they have coped with the pressures of the coronavirus working conditions. The food is good, the garden is very pleasant and the activities programme is varied. A planned upgrade of residents rooms will make the home even better. The management team are friendly and efficient and communicate well with residents' families. I have visited relatives in other care homes and Oxenford is definitely the best I have experienced. I don't think I could have chosen a better one for my father.
