Mum has been in the care of The Ridings for almost 12 months now, we have had no problems and the staff go above and beyond to keep everyone happy. Should any problems occur they will always contact us straight away which is reassuring.

There are plenty of varied activities that Mum will often join in, her room is well-appointed and is kept clean, tidy and accessible. There has been a new chef appointed and Mum never complains about the food. We are very happy that we chose this home for Mum after looking at others in the area. The Ridings, its staff and management should be proud of what they offer.

From July 2021 to October 2022 my beloved mother - Mommy - was a much-loved resident at The Ridings. She thrived and glowed until her Dementia and probable other physical diagnoses rapidly brought her to end-of-life in October. Over the past eighteen months, I was at The Ridings many times, randomly and by appointment and for the diligent and loving care given to my beloved Mommy and myself, especially in the last eight weeks of her life until she died, in my arms, at The Ridings, I will be eternally grateful. Everyone, at all levels of responsibility, always went 'the extra mile' to ensure that my Mommy and I had everything we needed at all times. The little things like FaceTiming me with Mommy when she could no longer hold, let alone work her mobile phone, meant so very much. Singing with her, remembering with her, being with her when I couldn't, due to my work commitments. Special place, special people... Friends for life.

My mother lived in The Ridings about 12 years ago, so I knew the home well. I wanted to have my planned respite at The Ridings as it was close by for my daughter to visit. The staff and management were all very approachable and very caring and made my stay go well. I would highly recommend The Ridings to anyone who needs care.

My mum was in the care of the Ridings for one year and through the challenges of her dementia and covid, the home provided the care my mum deserved, from her admission to the end of life and since her passing, has been first class. She was loved and respected in the home by all staff members. I spent a lot of time there and was never declined time with her. She was cared for as if she was a family member and I saw staff doing things above and beyond their responsibilities to provide Mum with the best care. I always felt confident they would look after Mum and keep me informed at all times. I would highly recommend the Ridings and I was anxious about placing Mum in a home. I don't regret it one bit - she had the very best care from some amazing people.

The care, compassion, support and assistance my mum received during he time at The Ridings was excellent. The staff were quick to react to any of Mum's medical needs and always kept us fully informed. As a family, we were always very impressed by the meals, and certainly, Mum benefited from good nutrition. Staff were always welcoming when we visited and treated Mum with great care, dignity and compassion, often going beyond what was strictly necessary. Overall, I am confident that Mum received the best possible care.

As a volunteer, I am always warmly greeted by the staff and residents. I feel my expertise is valued, even though I offer my services in a voluntary capacity. When I go in, I see how well looked after the residents are and how the staff engage positively with them all, treating them as individuals with their own needs.

My Aunt has been a resident at the Ridings since May. She suffers from dementia and the staff do lots of activities with her, which keeps her mind active and helps with her mental well-being. She has put on weight (she was very thin) and is cleaner and healthier since moving in. She had care at home for 18 months before coming to the Ridings and it’s noticeable how her general health has improved since May. The staff are caring and helpful to my aunt and us, whenever we visit.

Having experienced more than 5 care homes over the years, this stands out as the best. Staff are proactive and always communicate with us. Food is generally good with a range of choice. Some rooms are a bit tired and in need of a makeover - power sockets being in short supply! Activities vary with staff availability but doing well in a time of Covid.

I was greeted with efficiency at the front door, prior to a visit to a resident. I had neglected to bring absolute proof of my negative covid lateral flow test, but it was explained clearly what I should do, which I have. I was provided with appropriate PPE. The resident was brought to her apartment for my visit. Carers who came seemed very kind and treated the resident with dignity at all times. We were left alone for the visit and I was able to summon a carer easily, to show me out as evening mealtime approached. I know from previous visits how delicious the meals are and was delighted to see how much the resident has improved in general health, since last year. According to a carer, the resident has a good appetite. I always recommended the Ridings highly.

Under the difficult times of Covid-19, I have felt the home and staff have done their best to support the residents as well as us family, within the Government restrictions. Mum is as settled as she can be and is definitely seeing the benefit of seeing me in her room and holding her hand. Albeit half an hour; it's half an hour worthwhile for both of us. I am really looking forward to sharing time with Mum when restrictions as lifted.

A dear friend has been a resident of The Ridings for 3-years now, and she has been well cared for, and often the staff have gone above and beyond what is normally expected. Celebrating her 100th birthday during lockdown might have been a non-event, but the staff made the day special, and she certainly felt like the Queen for a day. Thank you to all concerned.

My husband first went into The Ridings care home for respite, when his condition got worse we enquired about him going in on a permanent basis. We had no problem getting him there everything went really smoothly. Since being there permanently he has settled in very well. It’s lovely and clean and has a full range of meals to choose from including breakfast, lunch and evening meal.
And of course snacks and drinks during the course of the day. My husband doesn’t usually get involved in activities but they’ve even got him doing some and he enjoys it. The staff are extremely lovely and take their job very seriously.

What I’m more than grateful for is the way management and staff have coped with the Coronavirus virus, they have kept everything going although at times being really tired and short of staff. Well done The Ridings.

My father-in-law has lived at The Ridings on a permanent basis since November 2019. Prior to this, he was going to The Ridings on a regular basis on respite. I have always found my father-in-law happy, well looked after and busy. Activities throughout the day - seven days a week. I especially like how we are kept up to date on the Facebook The Ridings page, lots of pictures of what is going on, ie, activities, events and day to day information. Staff are genuine, caring, compassionate and person-centred. If I did have any worries or concerns I would know who to talk to. My wife is always kept up to date, of any changes to care, concerns, GP appointment, etc. There is a very friendly and homely feel about The Ridings, more like a family. Residents look happy and content. I feel The Ridings do a remarkable job, especially through the pandemic we are currently in!

Mum has been a resident for just over 12 months. The care and affection from all staff has been excellent. From carers to cooks, cleaners and all staff. I also feel so at home going there to visit (which obviously has not been for a while). She has been poorly recently, but kept safe and cared for at the home due to hospital quarantine. The staff keep me well informed and have enabled me to keep in touch from time to time on social media. I never thought I would find her being so content and happy and most importantly safe and cared for. Thanks to all you wonderful people.

My father attends here and I would not have it any other way, my dad is happy, well looked after and the staff are very friendly and always have my dads best interest at heart.

While my father has been in the care home, he has been content which puts my mind at rest. Therefore, I do not have to worry so much as I do not live near the home.

My mum spent three happy years in The Ridings care home. She loved her flat, the cleanliness and brightness of the home, the well maintained large garden, the activities and the care that she received from everyone.
I truly believe that it was because the home offered mum such a lively, stimulating, varied and crucially safe environment that her cognitive functioning remained so stable for someone living as she did, with dementia.

Our family will always be very grateful to all the staff for making the last year's of mums life such a positive experience for both her and for our family.

I would highly recommend this residential home. My grandmother lived here for many years. The care of the staff is excellent. The staff at the home, go out of their way to make each resident feel welcome. After many years of struggling in her own home and getting upset in another residential home, the staff at The Ridings were able to make my grandmother feel instantly at ease. My grandma was a social character but withdrew because of her dementia. They gently encouraged her to integrate with others, eating every meal together, joining in with games and quickly her social circle expanded. Her confidence came back within just a couple of weeks and her cognition, as a result, which had been rapidly declining, plateaued, which is a credit to the home. Her mobility was variable but the home organised exercise classes and encouraged walking into the garden and between rooms. I couldn't recommend this home enough.

My father has only been in The Ridings since October 2018 but so far everything is excellent. He has settled in nicely and all the staff are very helpful and kind to him. I am really happy with how they look after dad and would definitely recommend The Ridings. Before he went to your home, I went to every home in Banbury and liked yours the most. I had a good feeling about it.

I have been working in older peoples' care for nearly 15 years.

I started at Godiva Lodge care home in Coventry as a care assistant and then became a team leader after 2 years. I then transferred over to an Extra Care location as a team leader. In 2017 I became a Deputy Manager and worked across three of Anchor’s locations. I returned to Godiva Lodge as the Home Manager in May 2023 to cover a period of absence.

I really enjoyed my time as a Home Manager and feel that I made an impact on the team at Godiva Lodge. I am looking forward to getting to know residents, staff and relatives at The Ridings.
