My mother initially went to David Gresham House for respite care. She received such excellent care that she took the decision to stay permanently. We are all full of praise for the whole team, who are professional and caring, and always friendly and accommodating. My mother feels safe and supported and is treated with respect and compassion. There is a full and varied programme of events and outings to ensure residents are stimulated and entertained, and feedback is sought and encouraged. We are delighted with all aspects of David Gresham House and would highly recommend it.

I have looked at many care homes in the area and David Gresham stands a head and shoulders above the others in terms of their friendly caring environment and excellent activities programme which i know mum will enjoy when she stays there.

5 star. Excellent service and care in a comfortable, clean environment. My dad lived independently in one of the flats for 2 and a half years. He was in the care facility for the last 3 weeks of his life where he was treated with the utmost respect, love and kindness. The care he received was impeccable, and support for us as a family was wonderful.
Thank you for your kind words. It's been a pleasure to look after Dad at David Gresham House.
Our Mother has been a resident for over two and a half years now. Throughout, she has been treated with the utmost care and kindness from all the care staff. There is definitely a personal, family feel to David Gresham, which gives us the family a great deal of reassurance. There is a wide range of activities provided for the residents and we have always enjoyed attending the events that are arranged to include the family.
Thank you very much for such a positive review.
I would recommend it highly.
Best Regards
We can only thank you for giving us the opportunity to look after you during your stay and look forward to you joining us again.
Our mother was a resident at David Gresham House for two years, and during that time me and my siblings felt incredibly secure in the knowledge that she was being looked after by a very professional and caring team at the home. The staff are first and foremost lovely people, caring and easy to talk to, and all had a nice sense of humour and positivity about them. We eventually reluctantly decided to move our mother to be nearer to my sister's home so that she could get daily regular family visits, and it was quite emotional seeing the staff saying goodbye to her and wishing her well in the future. You could see that they were going to miss each other. Thank you to David Gresham House for giving her such an enjoyable two years.
It was our pleasure and an honor to be given the opportunity to care for such an amazing lady who had achieved so much.
Mum had been a resident since 2021 and we've always found the care staff excellent - the care is personal and consistent. There is a small team who remain constant in contrast to the home my father went to for his last couple of months where you rarely saw the same face twice in one week. There is a sense that nothing is too much to ask. She was treated with dignity and respect. My mother died at the care home in December - she was allowed to remain there in her room and not sent off to hospital as she per her wishes. Staff could not have done more to make mum comfortable popping in to hold her hand or give her a sip of water when the family was not able to visit and they were also incredibly kind to us as we visited in the last few days. Prior to this last month I would say that mum enjoyed being at David Gresham House and liked her room. She did not join many activities but those she went to she really enjoyed facilitated by staff for example offering enlarged texts for the play-reading group.
It was a pleasure to have been able to look after Mum and to provide her with all the care she needed with such a wonderful, supportive family. Thank you very much for your kind words and the very positive review.
My stay was a very happy one, and all helpers were exceedingly kind and helpful to me and my family.
Thanks very much for your kind words - we are pleased that you enjoyed you time with us. It was a pleasure having you as part of the DGH community and If you need any support from us in the future, don't hesitate to get in touch. All the very best,
My mum looks forward to her respite time at David Gresham House. The management and staff are welcoming and caring. She is looked after very well, enjoying the company, various activities and mealtimes it gives our family peace of mind to know mum is happy there.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this view. Your comments are very much appreciated.
My third respite visit and once again have been very impressed with the care and attention I have consistently received each time from all staff and look forward to the next occasion I find myself in need of the so sympathetic ambience invariably present.
Thank you so much for your kind words - the registered manager and her team will be so pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay at our home once again. We very much look forward to welcoming you back again soon! Best wishes from all at DGH.
My mother moved in six months ago having been struggling at home. She has settled in well, the staff are all friendly and helpful and she particularly loves the food. She now has the choice of her own company in her room, or joining others for meals and activities. She also enjoys the garden now the summer is here.
Great to hear Mum enjoys the lifestyle in her new home. It is a pleasure to have her as part of our community. All the very best from the DGH Team.
There are activities nearly every day if not every day and a hairdresser is also in the home on a regular basis and someone to take care of their nails, which my mother appreciates and is always proud to show me when I visit.
My mother had lived on her own for twenty years prior to moving to David Gresham House, with care coming in, however, she was becoming increasingly agitated and worried about falling and had a poor diet consisting of microwave meals. Her diet has vastly improved as has her mental stimulation.
All the very best, the DGH team.
Daily clean clothes.
The food excellent and I am more than saddened that I have a very poor appetite. Appreciated the no pressure to go to the dining room and thank you for bringing lunch and dinner to my room.
More than glad that I was recommended by friends (her mother was in here) on discharge from the hospital. Not ready then for home but the staff have helped me to prepare for that. Thank you all.
All the very best from everyone at David Gresham House.
I had a short stay following surgery. All the staff were very caring and helpful. My requests were listened to and acted upon speedily. This was my second respite visit and thoroughly recommend David Gresham House for this purpose.
Thank you for your very kind response it is very much appreciated.
The staff and facilities for my stay were excellent, and I felt comfortable and was very well supported throughout.
This respite stay has informed me considerably, and I now know there's a solution ready and waiting to meet future needs.
Thank you for your kind response it is very much appreciated.
My grandmother went to David Gresham for temporary respite; she soon made remarkable progress and decided to remain there as a resident. David Gresham has given her the security and support she needed after struggling on her own at home. The staff are truly wonderful, they are on hand constantly and will help with anything - I previously spoke to my grandmother every day when she was at home and the staff have ensured that we are able to easily have the same level of contact which is so important. David Gresham House offers its guests and residents so much; great food, warm and comfortable rooms, a social calendar with a fabulous selection of events and friendly support. Cannot recommend David Gresham House, the manager and the staff enough. This was the best outcome and the best decision my grandmother has made. Thank you for everything!
Thank you for your kind words it is very much appreciated.
If you allowed 110% this would show how good Gresham is. I could not praise it enough. Everyone was so kind. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words it is very much appreciated.
My mother moved into David Gresham House at the beginning of October 2022, having been widowed a year previously. Before moving she had become increasingly lonely living in the family home. Since moving in she has had a new lease of life. She is a very social person and the daily events at the home have enhanced her life. The food is excellent with a daily choice for the residents at all mealtimes. The cleanliness of the home cannot be faulted and mum's room is well-appointed with everything she needs. She has total freedom of choice in what activities she partakes in, with the lovely garden affording a great place to enjoy the outdoors. Special mention goes to the staff, many of whom have been there for many years, a great indictment of how the home is run. The staff are friendly and welcoming to residents and visitors alike. Undoubtedly this was a great place for mum to move to.
Thank you for your kind words it is very much appreciated.
