Kettlewell House is clean with no nasty smell. The staff are very pleasant to the visitors and are very caring to the residents.
There seems to be entertainment of music frequently. There are also outside events in the garden during the summer.
The residents appear to be relatively content. I cannot
comment on food and drink, though it seems good, or value for money.

I have been coming for about four years to see my wife.
Initially, I came every day and fed her. For the past three years, I have been coming weekly as I had a stroke. I have always been impressed by the lead of care from everyone for the manager, the carers, the cooks and the cleaners. Since I had
the stroke I have been provided with a meal for which I am very grateful.

Generally, there is a caring and welcoming atmosphere. Staff know about resident's situation and are helpful when asked about his health, wellbeing, needs etc.
Care plans and daily reports on the website are very useful. Symptoms eg infections are recognised quickly and acted on promptly. Management
are responsive to questions and requests. Ad-hoc communication is good and the meetings for relatives are informative.
While some activities are difficult for resident to participate in due to communication problems, he has benefitted from several eg outing to Wisley, animal visits, PAT dogs, hand massage, Christmas morning festivities. Visits from healthcare professionals are appreciated. The resident is treated as an individual and given choices where possible. He is settled in the home, likes the carers and often looks happy and smiley.

Overall very good. Every effort was made to help my wife settle in.
Everybody was very kind to her and she and I were made to feel welcome and to get involved as far as she was able.
Activities and entertainment were excellent in general. The organiser was very good and welcoming. The bedroom is satisfactory
although the ensuite is narrow making it difficult to assist with the toilet.
I have limited experience of the food but my wife seems satisfied.
Overall, management was excellent and everything possible has done to make her feel welcome.

After spending four years gaining experience in other homes, Ana's deep connection to the Kettlewell House team and its unique atmosphere drew her back, solidifying her decision to return to what she describes as her 'family'.


Ana's passion for the care and well-being of older adults has been a driving force since her university days, guiding her career exclusively within care homes. This dedication has made her exceptionally skilled in her field, understanding the nuances and specific needs of elderly care. Ana considers herself an expert in this area, a testament to her commitment and extensive experience.
