Ridgway Court Reviews (22)
Ridgway Court has a Review Score of 9.5 (9.516) out of 10, based on 9 reviews in the last 2 years.
Over all time Ridgway Court has 22 reviews.
It was a hard transition for her to residential care but Ridgeway staff have ensured that she feels at home, so much so she never wants to leave.
Ridgeway Court is a credit to the care profession, if only all care homes were as good.
The staff and management have my everlasting thanks as my aunt had all but given up but is thriving again at Ridgeway Court.
Thank you for your lovely review. I will inform all staff of your kind words. We work hard at Ridgway to ensure that all residents are included, safe and happy with their time here.
Our mother is very well looked after and happy at Ridgway Court. The staff are all very friendly and caring. The outings are to interesting and varied places and try to cater to all tastes. The kitchen staff provide a good variety of meals, with plenty of choices.
Thanks so much for taking the time to share them.
Monthly reviews take place and they are helpful in dealing with any issues.
Thank you so much for your kind review. I shall inform staff of your kind words.
It is an amazing care home. As it is so small and the carers really get to know the residents it has a lovely family feel. My parents were there for 8 years and my mum still is. I know she is well looked after and safe and there are lots of outings and activities. I do think the communication can be poor sometimes and the diary not checked for medical appointments. Otherwise outstanding.
Thank you so much for you review I am pleased that you feel confident about moms safety at Ridgway Court and that she is being looked after well. I shall let staff know your thoughts.
The staff are very caring and have gone out of their way to make him feel comfortable and at-home.
The garden is lovely and easy to access. There are activities throughout the week and a well organised excursion about once month. A facility minibus means trips are both local and far ranging.
The food is really good, and care is taken to make sure there are always meals that my father will enjoy. Snacks and tea are provided throughout the day.
Visiting is easy and it has been a pleasure to get to know the regular carers and other residents.
I really appreciate how communicative the staff and management are, which has been reassuring and very helpful. I am kept informed of how he's getting on and his changing medical conditions, and feel well supported when making necessary decisions about care.
I highly recommend Ridgway Court and am very appreciative of the care and fond attention my father is receiving.
Thank you so much for taking time to share your kind words. We will pass these on to the team and they will be so pleased that both your father and yourself are happy with his care at our home. Best wishes from all at AWVS.
My father chose to move to a care home a few years after the death of my mother 20 years ago. He was 85 years old and in good health when he moved first to a very good facility in Guildford, and when that had to close, re-locating to Ridgway Court. He had pieces of his own furniture around him and his favourite pictures, photos and sentimental special things. My dad died recently, just before his 100th birthday. He was a difficult man to look after, but for 5 years the Ridgway staff always went out of their way to care for him sensitively, and listen and respond to him. They did their best for him in sometimes challenging circumstances. The manager was kindness itself to me as well, and my family are grateful for everything they did for my father.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, I am so pleased that we were able to provide care and support to both your father and yourself. I will certainly let all the staff know of your kind words. I am so sorry for your loss.
My mother entered and has been cared for by Ridgeway Court residential care for 14 years, at first she had a very amenable nature and was very polite to the staff but sadly this changed and she was a very angry person.. this being said the staff was wonderful. Mum was cared for as well if not better than we could have managed ourselves. They have wonderful varied hot meals, the cook is excellent and all staff were exceptional, extremely welcoming and hospitable celebrating all of her birthdays not lest her 100th and 101st birthdays with elaborate cakes sadly she passed just 5 weeks shy of her 102nd. They became a part of our family unit. It is sad to say goodbye now that Mum has passed away, we highly recommend Ridgeway Court when considering a place for your loved one when the time comes to need care.
Thank you so much for your kind words which I will filter down to all the staff at Ridgway. She was a wonderful person and she will be sadly missed at Ridgway Court. I wish all the very best for your family, and if you want a slice of our wonderful cake pop in and see us.
It's not easy for him to stay with you because of his Parkinsons he is resistant to change!
You all welcomed him back having remembered him from a previous stay with you. Thank you again for your care & understanding.
I would happily leave him with you whenever I am unable to look after him.
It was a pleasure to have him back at Ridgway Court. We thank you for your kind words and look forward to seeing you again.
Only in July, I wrote a review of Ridgway Court which had been so welcoming to my mother. Since then she had a wonderful 96th birthday party, with all the residents gathered for a birthday tea, with a splendid cake and joined by family and friends, it was a genuinely lovely occasion which she really enjoyed. Sadly, in August she died, peacefully in her sleep. The staff were absolutely magnificent, keeping us fully informed and supporting us at all stages. The manager and her team then helped us with the necessary tasks, provided us with the information requested, and eased the whole process. Our family was so comforted that our mother's last months were happy, secure, and content, and we have no regrets at all about her time in the care of Ridgway Court. She had a long and fulfilled life well lived, and it ended in the best possible way it could have done, peacefully, quietly, and securely in the care around her. We cannot recommend Ridgway Court and its wonderful staff more highly.
My father moved to Ridgway Court in January following a number of weeks in hospital. As a family we instantly saw the care and professionalism of the home. From the very start the manager and assistant manager took personal ownership of our dad's care and we have seen him go from strength to strength. The home has such a positive and friendly atmosphere Dad has settled in so well and could not be happier. To see him as he is now is a testament to the Wey Valley Society and all the staff at Ridgway Court. On behalf of my family a very sincere thank you for all you have done for Dad.
Thank you for passing on your kind comments. It is great to see your dad's improvement since moving into Ridgway Court and it is a pleasure having him as part of our great community. Best wishes from all at Ridgway Court and the Abbeyfield Wey Valley Society.
Family visited Mum during her stay and were made very welcome by staff.
Thank you all from the family.
We are thrilled that your mom enjoyed her stay with us, she made some lovely friends here and ensured that she took advantage of all the activities that were scheduled. Thank you for your kind words which I will communicate to all staff. We look forward to seeing her again soon.
I just wanted to thank all the staff at Ridgway Court for being so welcoming and friendly to my mother, who made the decision herself to move to a care home. It was a difficult decision for her, she has always been a very independent person. Living alone was, however, becoming a chore. She was worrying constantly about her house, which was getting her down, and being alone was also an issue. My sister and I visited a couple of times a week, but then the rest of the time she was lonely. Since moving to Ridgway Court, she has become much more active and alert and is back to her old self, full of chat and enjoying life once again. She greatly enjoys the company of others and the activities and outings. We, as visitors, are always welcomed to sit in her room or the conservatory. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful, always a smile and time for a chat. I am sure the move will give my mum more happy years to enjoy. Thank you all at Ridgway Court.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It has been a pleasure welcoming your mum into our small community at Ridgway Court and we are so pleased she has settled in so well and is enjoying her new home. All the very best from the manager and her team at Ridgway Court.
I chose Ridgway Court because it immediately felt like a true home to me, not pretentious or sterile, yet well organised and most competently run. And it smells like a proper home, of home-cooked food - soap- fresh air! I was also really pleased she could bring so many of her own things - being allowed to hang pictures all around her room has made it feel as if it is actually the same home she has always had.
For me personally just knowing that people are looking after her through her various day-to-day crises is such an immense relief; it's only with hindsight that I realise how much of a toll it was for me being on-demand 24/7 at a distance of 30 miles.
And for my mother - well she isn't lonely any more. Enough said!
It is great to hear that your mum is happy and also the fact that you know she is enjoying her environment has helped your quality of life too....
Please pass on our total gratitude to the caring team, the kitchen team, the cleaning team and the management. You are doing a truly amazing job.
Thanks so much for taking the time to write your kind review - the team at Ridgway Court really appreciated reading your comments.
I cannot recommend Ridgway Court enough. My mum moved in last week after a long and arduous stay in hospital. I'm navigating the process and can hand on heart say that every single professional I've spoken to at Ridgway from Marketing, Management, and all the care staff within this wonderful organisation have all been welcoming, informative, and above all else friendly. My mum is happier than she has been in a very long time and I feel massively part of the process. I would say to anyone stepping into the care sector for a loved one, have a look around and speak to these special individuals. You will be comforted and reassured. Recommend 100%
Thank you so much for your kind words - all our team will be so pleased to know your mum is settling in well and enjoying her home. We're also very happy to hear that you feel part of the process - that's our aim too, as the resident's loved ones are an integral part of life within AWVS.
Really good to see my father's friend enjoying life to the best of his ability and his family are very grateful to all the staff within the home.
Kind regards, All at AWVS.
My mother has been at Ridgway Court for 3 years now, during which time she has required a great deal of physical and emotional support. The staff constantly adapt to her needs and are a great support for me. I feel that she is well cared for in a small, friendly environment. During this Covid year, the team at Ridgway Court have made sure that I could visit my mother several times a week, either outdoors, or in the visiting pod. I am very grateful to the staff for all their efforts at this extremely difficult time.
Thank you very much for your review - our team of great carers will be so pleased to hear they have been a vital help and support to both you and your mum, particularly over the past year which has been so difficult. With all our vaccines now administered,we look forward to a better year ahead for everyone.
Best regards,All at Abbeyfield Wey Valley Society
My mother has been a resident at Ridgway Court for some three and a half years. She is very happy and content in the gentle environment created by the wonderful staff at Ridgway Court. I cannot fault the way my mother has been looked after, especially during these disturbing and worrying Covid 19 times. The manager, nursing staff, carers, cooks and ancillary staff all take responsibility and are always ensuring that the residents are happy and their needs are taken care of. As a daughter of a resident, I have always been listened to and all my requests have been acted on. A simple entertainments programme provides a change of scene for everyone once or twice a week. During the summer, the residents were able to get outside into the garden if they wished and enjoy the sunshine with a cup of coffee/tea and biscuits - my mother loves to sit outside, so this suits her fine. I would thoroughly recommend Ridgway Court and Abbeyfield Wey Valley to anyone thinking of long term residential care.
Thanks again, and best wishes from all.
Ridgway Court provides a homely atmosphere and the many activities, entertainment and outings pre-Covid were greatly enjoyed. During lockdown, the staff have worked tirelessly to ensure the residents are safe and have allowed us to visit from a distance in the garden. They have also put on imaginative entertainment in the gardens. The caring and hard-working staff are a credit to this home.
Thank you so much for your kind words Rosemary - we are extremely proud of the passion and dedication of our staff and its lovely to hear your father enjoys being part of the RC family!
My uncle has spent the last two months or so at Ridgway Court. In that time, he has settled in very well. Ridgway has a wonderfully warm and friendly feeling and the staff are tireless in their care, treating everyone with great dignity. The balance of residents and staff works very well together and there is a real sense of family between them with a lot of fun and laughter. The Christmas period was very special, many times I visited, I found everyone singing carols or old favourite songs. It is often very difficult when a relative has to go into care, but everyone at Ridgway has made this time as easy as possible. I would recommend them to anyone.
Thank you very much for your kind words. We have enjoyed looking after your uncle over the last few months.
