My parents were at Wey Valley for respite care after they had both been in hospital. The care they received was excellent and the staff were very thoughtful and kind. Nathan and Michelle went above and beyond to make ensure my parents could spend time together and to cater for their various needs. I would highly recommend the care home as a safe and happy environment.

My mum had respite care after a hip replacement. Everyone at Wey Valley House was helpful and friendly. They had activities regularly and were dedicated to the residents welfare. The food was also very good. We would definitely use Wey Valley House if we need respite care again.

On entering the home there is a wonderful atmosphere- extremely clean and bright. The staff are amazing and certainly care for the patients. On seeing the laundry put away in the wardrobe was amazing- all very neatly ironed. The staff are a credit to Abbey Field, they deserve 10.00.

I highly recommend Wey Valley as an exceptional care home. My father has been a resident for several years and is very happy with the care and dedication of the staff. They are all very friendly, welcoming and professional and make the place feel like 'home'. There is a great atmosphere and lots of activities, entertainment and excursions for the residents. The dining room and lounge area is a lovely meeting place and overlooks the river with doors opening on to the patio when the weather is warm. There are lots of 'passers-by' walking along the riverside path.. cyclists, dogs, children etc. which my dad loves to see! The communication from the home is excellent, with regular news letters, monthly entertainment schedule etc. If there is any problem with my dad, I immediately get a call to inform and update me and I know that he is checked on regularly when he is in his room. He enjoys the food with varied menus and plenty of choice! This is a fantastic home with fantastic staff.

The team at Wey Valley are first class. They endeavour to make the care home as much like a home as is reasonably practicable. They work together well, lovingly care for each resident, and keep the family informed of any changes or needs. There is a full programme of activities and trips out and they're always celebrating something or other! Meals are freshly cooked and much enjoyed.

From a daughter's point of view I feel reassured he's safe, well cared for and greatly respected.

Made several visits to my friend. On each occasion I have noted how friendly the staff are, very considerate and smiley. The bedroom and bathroom were lovely and clean. The surrounding area well kept. The atmosphere when entering the home is homely and welcoming. Enjoy visiting and pleased my friend is content staying in Abbeyfield.

Shortly before having a total hip replacement operation I was told about Wey Valley House offering short post-operative support/respite care. This suited my requirements perfectly, I visited and then immediately booked myself in for a week. It was the right decision in every way. The staff were all caring and supportive, the overall atmosphere of Wey Valley House is a very happy one, the food was varied and enjoyable and I was able to just get on with focussing on my recovery. I have already decided that should I need post-operative care in the future I would want to return to Wey Valley House. I have given similar feedback to several of my friends.

Just a lovely place with a great atmosphere where everyone is treated with respect, compassion and love. For my dad, he couldn't be better served and cared for. For myself and family, there is peace of mind knowing my dad is in safe hands. I love to visit and am treated with a warm welcome always and feel the staff act like friends. Just seems like a wonderful atmosphere for them all to work in which is positive on all levels.

Thirty years ago I did the tea trolley here and always said if I go in a home when I am old, this is where I wanted to come. Soon after my ninety-fifth birthday I moved in and can honestly say I have never regretted it for one moment.

My friend was previously at another care home where he resided for a year. A family decision to move him closer to his direct family, he opted for Wey Valley House. He is happy here, has a pleasant room overlooking the canal.

Care levels are good and meals are good.
