My mother has been at East Dean since November after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's. My brother, sister and I are very impressed with the care she has been given. We could not have chosen a better place for her to live out the rest of her life. Special thanks to Anita and Sarah who have made her feel so welcome and at home. The activities and entertainment makes Mum feel she is on holiday!

Leaving my mother at East Dean Grange for the first night was made easier because it felt like leaving her with family. High level of cleanliness, comfort, and care . Amazing care by the whole team contributed to her living there an overall positive experience.
I was so very grateful for the pure kindness shown to my mother and to us, her family .

I would throughly recommend this care home above all of the others that we visited.

Mum has been in East Dean Grange for just over five years. She has loved her time there, and has always said that she is well looked after. In the last days of mum's life, the manager and staff went above and beyond in their care for mum, and called us when mum was nearing her passing so that we could be with her.

All the staff are friendly and caring. The manager particularly stands out as a caring, helpful and competent person. Thank you for looking after mum.

Thank you for taking such wonderful care of mum since the Autumn. She has taken a while to settle in and integrate with the other residents, but now seems to be comfortable and accepts her lot. The staff have been great in making her welcome, especially the management. We look forward to a long stay in this lovely environment.

We are so pleased with the care that our mum is receiving. The home is well run with a great understanding of how to deal with the problems created by dementia. Mum is always treated with respect, and as members of the family, we are always welcomed and kept informed of how mum is getting on.

Our mum was given the best care and attention every day of the 9 months that she was resident at East Dean Grange. Every member of staff was kind, considerate and respectful. When mum was in hospital 2 senior members of staff visited her to give her support and reassurance when she was confused and worried. Mum was so well cared for at end of life and so were our family. We are so grateful to the wonderful team and would recommend this great home to any family looking for a loving home for their loved one.

What can I say about this care home that I haven't already said in the past?
This time it is so painfully difficult for us as family to submit this review. But in order to support the ongoing outstanding work that care staff do it is vitally important that families voices are heard globally!
My husband was a resident at the Grange for 2 years. On the 7th of October he passed away peacefully in his room surrounded by those who loved him deeply. Heartbreaking as it is for us as a family we never expected to receive the support we did from staff; everyone treated us with respect and dignity.

All Care homes must invest in outstanding leadership, which in turn inspires compassionate skilled care staff. It is evident that the Grange has implemented a leader that is committed to ensuring that staff are well equipped in supporting every individual residents needs.

My soon to be 96 year old mother has been a resident at East Dean Grange for well over a year now and she has presented quite a few challenges during that time one way or another. However, I can honestly say that the staff at the home have demonstrated nothing but kindness, respect and patience with her. She seems to have settled now and is far less agitated and when she is it's less often and the excellent Manager ensures that I am fully involved at all times. It's a huge relief to my brother and I to know that mum is being cared for so well. The staff from the housekeepers, care and nursing staff and the Managers are always so good with her and are happy and friendly to us as a family.

After 18 months living at the Grange with Parkinson's, my husband's health deteriorated quickly. After hospital discharge, it was a relief to him to return to East Dean. The care given was brilliant. So much detail was taken care of. All the staff treated him as a member of the family. His family was also supported lovingly - right up to the peaceful end.

My mum was here for 2 weeks respite. She was reluctant to come but the staff were very patient and tried to accommodate her as much as possible.
They were very patient and respectful of her needs and wants.

I was very happy with the home and will be looking to place her here again in the future.

Mum is very happy and settled here and taken care of very well. All the staff are kind and friendly and make sure she is comfortable. They are always very welcoming and cater to everyone's needs. Mum is flourishing here compared to being at home and the socialisation with other residents and staff has done her so much good. Staff always get her up and engaged and we are lucky to have such dedicated staff.

My aunt has been at EDG care home for just over a year. Since the new management team has been in place things have drastically improved mainly the atmosphere. My aunt is well cared for, the staff are very kind and patient and she is treated with understanding and patience. Her room is spacious and has lovely views. Food is showing signs of improvement. I feel there could be more daily activities and encouragement for residents to more more. My aunt does get bored at times but I realise residents with dementia are challenging. I am very happy with the service at EDG Care Home and would recommend it.
