Overall Experience

After my mother's last hospital stay I really thought she would have to go into nursing care, but with the amazing support and determination from the manager and her dedicated staff, she is now walking again and seems to be completely at home and content with life. The constant activities and interaction is also a huge help with stimulation and encouragement, which is essential. I am so happy and more importantly, my mother is really happy at Prideaux. Thanks to the manager for the excellent service you provide. I am so pleased we found you.

Upon one of my visits to see my father in law, we took along our pet German Shepherd dog. He is still very young and bouncy but it was lovely to be able to take him into the home to see Dad and to sit with him in the garden whilst we had a cup of tea and cake. It really is just like visiting my father in law at home. The staff not only know my wife and my name but also the dog too. We spent a lovely few hours there. The attention to detail from all staff is brilliant.
Nothing is too much trouble, a very pleasant afternoon spent.

Thank you Prideaux House.

It was a challenge for my mother to accept it was time for her to go into a care home for her own safety and wellbeing, but everyone at Prideaux made this transition very easy and it is definitely the best thing we could have done for her. She has settled in well, regards Prideaux as her home now and has received plenty of social stimulation from interaction with the staff and other residents, together with the busy programme of activities both inside and outside the home and some major events held there this summer in aid of various charities. The indefatigable and very capable new manageress and her team, who we had the pleasure of meeting individually at a Family Evening, create a warm, friendly atmosphere, are motivated and very kind to the residents and their guests! Moreover, their extra dedication and commitment to my mother during her recent health problems has been touching and commendable. I am so glad I can rest assured that she is and will be safe and well cared for.

My mother has dementia and feels she is under attack, but the carers are very patient with her and manage to deliver a high standard of personal care despite having to duck out of harm's way! They are very well equipped to deal with her needs.

We are so happy to have found Prideaux House for our mother. She settled in incredibly quickly and is clearly enjoying the extensive range of activities. All the staff are very kind and friendly and extremely helpful, also in all the administrative issues and paperwork. The rooms are lovely, ours with a view of the garden. I highly recommend this home.

Staff immediately settled my mother and spent time chatting to her, looking at photos and building a relationship. They now know her (us) well and understand her needs, worries and what makes her happy. They encourage her to socialise and are very kind. The management are always happy to chat to me and keep me up to date. They have taken a lot of my worries away and are consistently professional.

Always a friendly welcome from the staff and offered a drink on arrival. The building has been newly decorated and looks fabulous, very inviting for residents and visitors. The staff were so kind and efficient with my uncle, a great team of lovely people. I would highly recommend this home. The garden is beautiful and set up for their needs.

Mother moved in April because Prideaux House could cope with her needs far better than a residential home. The staff are very caring and kind and have seen her through a difficult period for all whilst she settled. She is now a different person, trying to make conversation and there is now a spark in her eyes. The room is bright and airy and the facilities appear to be good.
