I visited several homes for my mum but settled on Bramble Cottage as they appeared to have the most caring people and best atmosphere. Mum has been there 16 months and is very happy with everything there despite the Covid restrictions. The food and care are both excellent as is the communication between their management and me. The staff are nothing short of superb and nothing is too much trouble. If Mum is happy so am I. Highly recommended.

After almost one year at this care home, I find it extremely difficult to find fault with the staff, accommodation, food and the environment. Even the squirrels, pigeons and doves do their best to be friendly and happy.

I'm so glad I found Bramble Cottage for dad, he is so happy there. He loves being able to watch the wildlife on his balcony and the staff are all so friendly and caring. It's been particularly important to know he is in good hands during the Covid crisis and they have come through beautifully to date. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Cannot recommend highly enough. The home is welcoming and staff can't do enough to help - they are wonderful. Food good, activities appropriate and jolly. We made a great choice here and feel very lucky mum is so well loved and looked after. Thank you Bramble Cottage.

Bramble Cottage provides a very homely, non-institutional care home for those needing some care and support. Residents are always treated with dignity and respect and encouraged to lead fulfilled lives with as much independence as possible.

Bramble is a careful and caring environment, which has done well in the pandemic at protecting the residents. I am grateful to the staff and management for the care and professionalism they have shown looking after my mother in these last years.

What stood out about Bramble Cottage was the commitment of the management and staff to the care of the residents. Most of the management and staff are long-term, and this feels most important to me and my parents. They have coped really well during the lockdown, and their strict Covid rules have been reassuring and effective. I know the first names of many of my parent's carers, and I do not hesitate to recommend Bramble Cottage most strongly.

Bramble Cottage staff provided a caring, kind environment to our mother during her final month of life. They ensured that she was comfortable, and well looked after as possible. Where necessary enlisting the help of community nurses to support them during this very difficult period. I feel confident that although I was unable to visit her during the final month of her life that she was given all the care and kindness she needed to ensure that she was in peace and without pain at the end of her life.

During her 4 years at Bramble, she was happy in her room and loved many of the staff. She enjoyed the food and felt that she was listened to and respected. The staff were always patient with her, however demanding she might have been.

I used the home for a week following hospitalisation for a left leg severed quad tendon before returning home.
I was most impressed with the care and it was an excellent decision to use their particular home for respite.

Thanks to the management and staff.

I cannot praise the care my Father received at Bramble Cottage highly enough. He was not only afforded the physical care and respect for his dignity that you would expect from any residential care home but he was shown love in all the little and big kindnesses shown to him by the staff during his last year of life. His health was very poor when Dad moved in but with the staff's constant support in ensuring he took his medication correctly and with the wonderful 3 meals a day he received his health improved to the best it had been in quite a few years. Dad was very happy at Bramble Cottage, he enjoyed many social events throughout the year, outings and the weekly quiz. My family and I owe a massive debt of thanks to everyone who cared for Dad.

My mother is very happy at Bramble Cottage, her room is big enough for her and she is extremely pleased to have a walk in shower, where she is assisted with her showering every day. The staff are lovely, very caring and kind under the excellent leadership of the care manager. The manager and some of the staff have been at Bramble Cottage for a long time and this shows in the smooth running and homely atmosphere. There were a number of successful activities, events at Xmas which were very well planned and much appreciated by residents and family.

This is a wonderful homely residential home. Many of the staff have worked here for years and they have all treated my father with warmth and respect. Nothing is too much trouble and my father has settled in very quickly. I can't recommend Bramble Cottage highly enough.

My 96-year-old father has been in Bramble Cottage for 16 months. Mentally, he is very sharp but physically he is quite disabled. As such, his life is limited to his room only and his contact with the outside world is through television, the occasional visit from a relative but mainly through interaction with the staff, who are a really lovely and caring group of people.

The food is many times better than the delivery meals he would endure when he used to live elsewhere in the country with his wife before she died. He seems happy with his lot and a great deal of this is due to Bramble Cottage.

Mum originally arrived for 2 weeks respite care, having always been adamant she didn't want to leave her home of nearly 50 years. Over the next few weeks, however, she became more settled - enjoying her foom with its views of the garden and local bird and wildlife, and welcoming the care, support and attention of the manager and her staff - and now she has been a resident for nearly 9 months. The ensuite facilities in her room afford privacy and comfort, helped by being able to personalise the room with some of her own personal effects and furniture, whilst the communal facilities for dining and social activities enable her to meet and socialise with other residents when she wishes. If she wants to remain in her room, I feel reassured that she still sees members of the friendly and caring staff who regularly pop in during the day with cups of tea, medicines or to do the cleaning. Residents are encouraged to let staff know if they have particular needs or requirements (e.g. food), individual's dietary needs are recorded and managed effectively and the in-house chef and manager hold regular meetings with residents, inviting suggestions for the new season's menus.
