Swanborough House is located in a peaceful residential area of Brighton. Their care home manager has managed the home since 2015 and has been at the heart of Swanborough House for more than 20 years. Her consistent leadership, expertise and commitment to residents, families and staff have helped shape the warm, supportive culture that defines the home today.
The dedicated rehabilitation team supports adults living with a wide range of brain injuries and associated conditions, delivering personalised care tailored to each individual’s needs. Whether supporting everyday activities, working towards rehabilitation goals or maximising independence, the focus is always on helping people achieve the best possible outcomes.
Swanborough House works closely with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, as well as art and music therapists, to ensure care remains holistic, progressive and responsive.

My brother is cared for with compassion, understanding and respect. The staff are very hardworking, committed and professional. My brother's preferences and choices are respected and met, and they listen with any concerns or enquiries I may have. The staff are very friendly welcoming and warm. My brother is included in all activities he likes to do. He is very well care for and happy. The staff always take the time to converse with my brother and are patient and kind, my brother has an acquired brain injury and is in a wheelchair, non verbal, but has understanding. The staff spend time with him one to one in activities and take him out in the neighbourhood. They email the family every week with an update of my brother's week. Swanborough House is a lovely warm environment. Recently it has been refurbished and looks really lovely. I am very happy with my brother's care there and the hardworking dedicated professional team who work there.

Daisy Fernandez is the Registered Manager of Swanborough House, Brighton’s specialist acquired brain injury (ABI) residential and rehabilitation service. With more than 20 years of experience in neurorehabilitation and adult social care, Daisy brings a strong blend of clinical expertise, warmth, and steady leadership to the service.
Having worked at Swanborough House for many years, Daisy has developed a deep understanding of the residents, the community, and the unique needs of individuals living with acquired brain injury. Her background as an Occupational Therapist gives her valuable insight into how ABI impacts daily life, independence, and emotional well-being. This clinical foundation shapes her compassionate, person-centred approach, ensuring every resident’s strengths, goals, and personal journey remain central to their care and rehabilitation.
Daisy also holds a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, enabling her to lead with clarity, empathy, and a strong focus on quality and safety. She fosters a supportive team culture and is committed to continuous improvement across the home.

I am Kalule, and I have worked in the Health and Care sector for over 15 years, specifically in management in ABI, where I have been able to use my knowledge in psychology and sociology to provide intentional outcomes for the people we work with.
Within my role, I provide operational leadership, compliance delivery, and team development across the home. This is guided by a strong team of professionals, including Rehabilitation Assistants, a full therapy team, comprising a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, and Rehabilitation Assistants. What really guided me to the brain injury was seeing the successful journeys of the people we work with. It’s always a triumph seeing the progress that they make every single day due to their hard work in their rehabilitation, while closely liaising with other professionals in ensuring we deliver a wraparound service for them.
At Swanborough, we are a family that sees each other through the day, going on about our different roles, but working together to ensure the people we are supporting are getting the best care out there. For this reason, we are especially grateful when we get feedback, as it enables change in the right direction or ensures that we continue to do what seems to bring a smile to all our residents and their loved ones.
