Always found staff to be very pleasant and polite , and my brother has always said that he finds staff to be very helpful , any problems always sorted very quickly , very clean and tidy , shelter for smokers which is very good ,and pleasant garden , can always make a coffee , no nasty smells ,always helpful ,

We had to find a home quickly due to mums declining health. All staff, from walking in the front door to the management and care team were friendly, professional and compassionate. They made this difficult transition so much easier. Thank you.

I visit my friend in the home. I am always pleased with how well she is cared for, staff are very friendly. There is always evidence of activities. The security system is excellent. I chat to other residents also and they all say how happy they are at Balgowan. The food always looks very good, varied and wonderful cakes. I am always offered a cup of tea. The care is very good. Medical issues are dealt with promptly, the management is excellent and always available for a chat. I am very pleased that my friend is in a really good place. I used to be a Registered Manager for KCC Elderly Services so I recognize the effort involved in giving consistent good care

After a poor interim placement from hospital, Saltwood Care Centre was a revelation. Starting with the receptionist, all the staff (and there were plenty of them) showed the utmost care. Nothing was too much trouble. Even when our friend moved to hospital, we had regular enquiries. I don't believe we could have done better!

Really impressed with dining room communal spaces. The outdoor areas very pleasant. It felt a very relaxing comfortable home

My wife was admitted 27th. June 25. up until Christmas my wife was nursed and cared for very well. After Christmas the home had new owners and they spent a lot of time and effort refurbishig up grading the home which made the whole experience of visiting my wife more pleasant. My wife died there 24th.July 26.and was nursed sympatheticly to the end. All the staff seemed happy and were excellent in their duties.

I have always found the staff very friendly helpful caring and good at what they do they always tell you if there is something wrong they make you feel very welcome as a visitor and will always talk to you about what is happening and things that are being done like if they are taking the residents out for the day

Excellent service & care taken of my mother that was in your care for 4 years. Nothing was to much trouble, always greeted with a smile from all the staff. Always kept informed of her health. Would highly recommend.

Balgowan House staff were exceptional while my Mum was there. They genuinely care and are all very positive about the home. It is a real 'home'. My Mum was only there a short time, but I felt like we were with family. The home was always beautifully clean, very different from other homes I have been in. I am just so glad that my Mum came to Balgowan House for the most precious, but difficult time. I wouldn't have wanted her to be anywhere else.

My husband came to Hythe View after 5 months in hospital, and it has been an absolute breath of fresh air. All staff understand my husbands needs and have got to know him quickly. He is cared for constantly, with kindness, humour and sensitivity. My sons and I are always warmly welcomed and feel very much part of my husbands life - so important to all of us. My husband is so much more contented and really enjoying the attention he gets - particularly the haircuts, shaves and manicures! Staff work constantly to keep him engaged and smiling. I can thoroughly recommend Hythe View, particularly for its real warmth and excellent care.

Mum is very happy there.

I am very happy with the care my mum receives at Hythe View. In spite of her at times difficult behaviours, Hythe View staff understand the nature of her condition and are able to stand back and step forward as needed. We are treated with warmth, as part of the family when we visit and I feel I can say anything to staff if there is a problem. I wouldn't want my mum to go anywhere else.

My grandchildren, ages 4, 7 and 10, also enjoy visiting their "Pops" and again are made most welcome and comfortable in Balgowan. They especially enjoy the activity days and are always extremely keen to join in.

Beyond the exceptional clinical care for mum, the team provides wonderful support to us as a family. we truly believe this is the best nursing home in East Sussex!

Staff are aware of his needs and couldn't be any more helpful, they are always very friendly and will answer any questions or concerns.

All of the staff are lovely.

My dad has been in Southdowns care home for a few months now and I couldn't be happier with the care he is receiving. Although he is nearly non verbal now he always seems very happy, relaxed and content. He always receives very nice meals and there is always someone checking that he is drinking well too. All the staff are amazing and take such good care of my dad, they are very caring towards him and always chat to him even though they don't get much back. They are always very polite and friendly to me and the rest of my family when visiting. The manager (Kerry) has been amazing with the whole process of my dad going into the home, she is extremely helpful and has fab communication skills which made myself and my family feel more relaxed. It's not a nice thing to have to put a parent into a home but seeing the love and care he receives in Southdowns has made the process much easier for us. We wouldn't want him anywhere else.
