Balgowan provide a great level of care and know my brother very well with his difficult ways which they handle professionally.
Staff are aware of his needs and couldn't be any more helpful, they are always very friendly and will answer any questions or concerns.

The nursing team really helped dad to settle when he arrived at Southdowns, he often gets taken down to the lounge to join in with activities and seems happy when we visit him.
The staff are always polite and very informative with every aspect of dad's care.
The home is always kept very clean and
tidy.
All of the staff are lovely.

My dad has been in Southdowns care home for a few months now and I couldn't be happier with the care he is receiving. Although he is nearly non verbal now he always seems very happy, relaxed and content. He always receives very nice meals and there is always someone checking that he is drinking well
too. All the staff are amazing and take such good care of my dad, they are very caring towards him and always chat to him even though they don't get much back. They are always very polite and friendly to me and the rest of my family when visiting. The manager (Kerry) has been amazing with the whole process of my dad going into the home, she is extremely helpful and has fab communication skills which made myself and my family feel more relaxed. It's not a nice thing to have to put a parent into a home but seeing the love and care he receives in Southdowns has made the process much easier for us. We wouldn't want him anywhere else.

I visit my wife at the home every day from about 11am to 4pm and therefore I am able to view the home and the staff closely.
The care is of a high standard and the staff are always kind and caring to my wife and in fact all the residents.

We have a relative here (a number of years now). Generally, his care has been excellent. Very welcoming caring staff. When my sister and I went to Hythe View before our mother became a resident we were pleasantly surprised. The two members of staff we initially meet were so friendly and gave us a thorough tour of the home. Everything was clean and tidy and no smells which was a clincher not like some of the horror
stories one hears.
Mum's time at Hythe View until her passing in August 2025 was amazing she was so well looked after always clean and tidy and regularly out of bed and into the lounge area for some form of entertainment.


I can't praise the staff and management enough not for what they did for mum but the peace of mind they gave to our family knowing she was safe and cared for.

I looked at many homes for my mother who has moved and decided on Saltwood Care Centre. Without a shadow of doubt I made the right choice. From the managers to all the carers everyone has been amazing. The building is always immaculate and never smells (not like most). Everyone cannot do enough for
my mum which is all that I ask for. If you need to go into a home don't bother with any other one.

I will recommend the Hythe View Care Home to anybody or everybody who's looking for a home for their relative or friend. The care home is full of love and reliability. I have a brother living there for two years. He is very happy and very well looked after. The care home is very clean and managed with
efficiency and kindness. The staff are reliable, kind and very friendly. There is a TV in every room, and there are concerts in the lounge.

Very happy with the care my mum receives. Staff are always friendly and polite. The care home is always clean, warm and secure. Mum has dementia and is unable to communicate; however seems very happy and settled at the care home. It gives us as a family peace of mind, knowing that Mum is safe and well

My mum came to Cavell House just over two years ago. The staff at every level have been absolutely amazing. They have taken the time to integrate her and made her feel part of a family. I cannot thank them enough. The responsibility of the carers is massive and yet they keep smiling and remain cheerful
throughout their working day. They're a fabulous bunch of humans.

Excellent care 24 hours a day. The activities manager really creates a full programme of events each month, including trips in the minibus to the beach and theatre, e.g. pantomime.

My brother is cared for with compassion, understanding and respect. The staff are very hardworking, committed and professional. My brother's preferences and choices are respected and met, and they listen with any concerns or enquiries I may have. The staff are very friendly welcoming and warm. My brother
is included in all activities he likes to do. He is very well care for and happy. The staff always take the time to converse with my brother and are patient and kind, my brother has an acquired brain injury and is in a wheelchair, non verbal, but has understanding. The staff spend time with him one to one in activities and take him out in the neighbourhood. They email the family every week with an update of my brother's week. Swanborough House is a lovely warm environment. Recently it has been refurbished and looks really lovely. I am very happy with my brother's care there and the hardworking dedicated professional team who work there.

My aunt was a resident at Saltwood for 7 years. During this time I could not have asked for a more caring and proactive team. She felt safe, cared for and loved. There was always company, many varied activities and good home cooked food which she enjoyed. As her health deteriorated the attention to
detail and the extra mile all the staff went to to keep her comfortable was second to none. I felt supported by the team at all times and comfortable that I could ask any questions at any time. Under the care, love and encouragement of this wonderful team my aunt was able to enjoy her final years and live well with dementia.

When my wife first arrived at Saltwood about 6 weeks ago, we were immediately made to feel welcome. Saltwood provides a homely atmosphere and the staff are friendly and supportive. My wife needs 24 hour care and lots of help with her daily routines. She is always treated with respect and dignity. She
now has limited ability to communicate but she is always encouraged to join in the various activities if she wants to. I visit regularly and when I leave I never feel worried that she won't be well cared for.
