My mother has been in respite care at Southdowns since April 2025, and we're so grateful for the care she's received. It was incredibly difficult seeing her need 24-hour support, and when she first arrived, her health and mental state were quite poor. Since then, we've seen a huge improvement in both
her physical and emotional wellbeing. The staff have been consistently kind, attentive, and accommodating of her individual needs, including her food preferences and personal routines like wake-up and bedtimes. Their thoughtful approach has made a real difference. We especially want to thank the manager, whose compassion and support towards my sister and me during such a hard time has meant more than words can say. It's never easy to trust others with a loved one's care, but Southdowns has provided comfort, dignity, and genuine kindness when we needed it most.

Could not ask for a better home for my mum. All the staff go above and beyond. There aren't many that can say they had visits from ponies, chicks and the Easter bunny whilst bed bound. Thank you for all you do. It doesn't go unnoticed.

My friend came for care from her home to be nearer me. She has been given exceptional time and assistance to help her to settle in and gentle support over the weeks, she has spent with you all. I appreciate all you do for her and am reassured that she is now in a safe friendly place. I experienced a
difficult incident last Friday when all the staff reacted in an exemplary manner. I was impressed and very grateful.

Following a stroke last autumn I had to make the very difficult decision to put my husband in a care home. How lucky was I to find Mulberry House so close to home?
Sadly he passed away in early January, but in his last three months, he received exceptional care from the staff at Mulberry House. From
the cheerful cleaners to the friendly and efficient maintenance team, nothing was too much trouble, but my special thanks go to the care assistants and the nursing staff whose care and compassion I shall be forever grateful for.

Dad was at Southdown's Nursing Home for the last 3 years of his life. He went at a very difficult time in his life, our beloved Mum had died and he had broken his hip and could no longer manage at home. The staff helped him and us cope with our loss. The staff have always tried to work with Dad who
was desperate to maintain as much independence as possible. To dad the staff became friends and nothing was too much trouble. At the end of his life when he could no longer do the things he wanted they always made sure he was as smart as he would have wanted to be which was so important for him. We were welcome to visit at any time and involved in his care to keep him as comfortable as possible. Dad was treated with dignity and respect at all times. I consider ourselves lucky to have found such a lovely home and be part of the Southdowns family. On the rare occasion we thought something could be improved we simply spoke to management and it was sorted. I can't praise or thank them enough.

All of the staff at this Care Home are totally awesome. They really get to know each resident and are so kind and caring and can anticipate the resident's needs. I was lucky to be present at one of their special afternoons with a singer who sang all the songs that we all recognised and enjoyed, most
of the residents were present and so were a lot of the staff, I could see several examples of such love and care from the staff to the residents I was so impressed. It was a lovely afternoon and I thoroughly enjoyed it and I could see that the residents did too, thank you Southdowns for such considerate kindness and care it just confirmed my first impression when I came to choose a place for my husband.

I can't praise the staff enough at Mulberry House. They have helped me get back from a very bad place and because of the people at Mulberry, I am better and will move to a supported living shared home. I would especially praise the activities staff and admin but all the staff are fantastic at what they
do and it's like a family and feels like home.

My mum has been in Mulberry House for the past few months following a stroke in February this year. Out of all the homes I have visited during the past 6 years of caring for my parents, Mulberry House was above and beyond the best that I have experienced. The team/staff at Mulberry are exceptional -
nothing was too much for any of them who carried out their work in a kind, efficient and extremely cheerful manner. They interact with their residents in such a lovely way - it was a joy to watch. Some of the female staff danced and sang, engaging with their clients daily and all the staff entertained them, cared for them, followed them around, cleaned them, fed them, kept them safe and loved - and responded to all the requests quickly (no matter how bizarre they might have been) all with a smile and caring tone. I cannot recommend Mulberry House highly enough - the whole team are absolutely amazing.

I have been visiting the home for the last ten months since my wife died at the home after being a patient there for three years.
From what I observe it is well run and clean and the carers are very pleasant. The people I visit seem to be happy and well cared for.

Excellent care, especially the staff who are wonderful. My wife is bedbound but receives all the care she needs. The cleanliness of her rooms is exemplary. She suffers from Alziemers but seems happy in the home in her own little way.

My mother has been resident with you for nearly four years. She is confined to bed and cannot walk. During this time we have found the staff and management to be supportive, kind and informative to her and us. We are very happy with all the care provided. She feels safe and secure and very happy, which
brings us much comfort as we are unable to look after her ourselves due to my disability. Thank you for everything.

My mum has recently moved into the home. She and we have been made to feel welcome by the friendly team. It was obvious from speaking with the manager that she had conducted a thorough handover with the hospital my mum was transitioning from and also sought extra information from me to enable the home
to effectively support my mum when she does become unwell again. The home seems to be having work done to it, which is a good thing. The lounge is large, airy, clean and spacious, and I can see from the home's Facebook page that my mum is beginning to join in with the activities that are available.
