Hi, My name is Sophie and I am the Registered Manager here at Saltwood Care Centre.
I have worked in the healthcare sector since 2008, I have worked in various different roles and developed my skills along my journey. I have worked for both private and public health providers.
I worked previously as a home manager and have supported a range of needs throughout my career including specialist Dementia and nursing care. I have gained qualifications such as my NVQ 5 in management & leadership.
I am passionate about delivering a high standard of care and making a difference in people's lives. For any person, family member or loved one, choosing a care home can be understandably difficult and I aim to make the transition as smooth as possible with care and understanding to all involved.
Sophie leads her team by example – being open, honest, and passionate about providing the best person-centred care for all residents. Sophie takes pride in her work, always giving her best and ensuring that Saltwood Care Centre is a special place for residents, their families, and the team at Saltwood.
My name is Maria Theresa Guerzon. My family and friends call me Terri but Maria at work. I have been working in the UK care industry for almost 21 years.
I completed my degree in Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Science in Nursing in Philippine Universities. I started working in England as a Senior Health Care Assistant, passed my Nursing adaptation and registered as a nurse in 2006. I completed my nursing adaptation at Philbeach Care Centre, which is now called Saltwood Care Centre. I studied further At Christ Church University and completed Leadership courses.?
I worked in different care settings as a nurse, agency nurse, clinical lead and Deputy Manager. This enabled me to gain a wealth of knowledge and experience and provided me with the tools to ensure that residents receive the very best care.? I love music. For me, music itself is healing. Sometimes patients call me “the singing nurse.” ?I am honoured to be part of the Integrum Care Group and to work alongside a great team at Saltwood Care Centre.
I Joined SCC as a receptionist in Nov 2020, in the middle of the Covid lockdown, previously working in guest services.
Both my husband and sister work within the company and I was very aware of the effect covid was having within the care home industry and really wanted to help. My intention was to return to my old job but here I am over 3 years later and now a resident experience manager.
I have always had a great relationship with our resident's families and now I get to spend time with the residents too. I look after the domestic team, catering and reception. I also support The Home Manager, Sophie as much as possible. Sophie and I work very well together and enjoy a fantastic working relationship. Saltwood has a great team, and I am very proud of them daily.
