I have lived here since I came out of the hospital. Rooms have a nice view of the gardens. The meals are very good and plentiful. The home staff and management are providing a pretty for me and 18 of my relatives for my 80th birthday on 26/10/2024.

Thank you for your kind words and I'm so glad you are happy and comfortable at Saltwood Care Centre. The party was well deserved and lovely to see all of your family come together for such a special birthday. Thank you.

There have been occasional lapses in care. When I came I found that he had previously opened his bowels but his bottom had not been cleaned. He has complained to me that one or two carers have not treated him with respect and have been rude. Whether this is because they find it difficult to understand his speech and become impatient I don't know but generally the carers are kind, helpful, patient and understanding.
Thank you for your comment, after a meeting we discussed any concerns and believe any previous concerns have been rectified. Thank you for understanding that the carers are kind, helpful, patient and understanding.
My Mum was originally booked in for Respite Care, as although nearly 102 and been totally independent all her life, she had suddenly lost her strength and needed care. I had a holiday booked with my grandchildren, so we agreed she would have her own holiday in Saltwood Care Centre. The Admin Team...
I was able to go away for 4 days, safe in the knowledge that she could not have been in better hands. Sadly on my second night, she passed away peacefully. I was kept informed of her sudden decline and then of her passing. Again, everything was seamless which helped me incredibly at a difficult time.
I cannot praise Saltwood more and highly recommend their facilities and teams.
Thank you so much, very kind words - I will of course share them with the team. Your loved one was a pleasure to have in our care.
Good knowledge and understanding of patients' needs. Excellent activities throughout the day.

For him, the accommodation was adequate for his needs. My daughter, son and I also found staff kind when we visited.
The only thing to criticise was the dirty-looking carpet.

The staff are consistently friendly and helpful - they genuinely seem to like what they're doing and the people they're caring for. My mother was showing signs of dementia when she entered Saltwood. As her condition deteriorated, and she was eventually confined to bed, the Saltwood staff continued to take the greatest care of her, making sure she was as comfortable as her circumstances would allow.
My father survived her by another two years, although with increasingly failing health. Again, the Saltwood staff took great care of him. They did what they could to help him maintain his mobility. When he was no longer able to move, they made sure he stayed clean and comfortable.
On the very few occasions when we did need something done, we only had to ask and the management team took care of it.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it was a pleasure to care for both of your parents. I will share your thanks with the team at Saltwood.
I had my first break and I really enjoyed it. I didn't think I would like it here but I really enjoy being here.

The staff have been wonderfully kind to us and my Uncle and we are very grateful to them. We have experienced other homes and consider Saltwood to be head and shoulders above the rest.
Thank you for your very kind response. It was an absolute pleasure caring for your uncle.

My brother has been in this home for a year having suffered a serious stroke nineteen years ago. He is not able to converse easily but the staff give him time to try and in fact, with their help, he is now able to say more words. Staff are friendly and caring, laugh and joke with him, this helps tremendously. They are encouraged to take part in activities which helps them to keep their brains going, this is important. I have no hesitation in recommending Saltwood Care Centre. Well done to them all.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is very rewarding to hear that your brother has improved from the help of the team and that his days are made pleasurable with the interaction he receives. I will ensure the team is aware of your praise for their time and care.

Mum looks so much healthier since being here and has a great relationship with all the staff. It's so laid back and you really feel welcome visiting. Thank you Saltwood for everything.
Thank you for such a wonderful review. We are so happy your mum is happy and settled and that you find the home welcoming and friendly. I will ensure the Home Manager and the amazing team are aware of your kind words.

My father was admitted to Saltwood Care Centre in October 2022 following a fall at home. He remained at the nursing home until his passing in June 2023. The care he received was exemplary despite him being very difficult at times. All the staff that cared for him were kind, professional and non-judgemental. I would also say that the support I received from the staff throughout this very difficult time was incredible. They were attentive and kind and were always willing to lend an ear to me! I always had a smile from them when I arrived ! The reception and office staff were also exceptionally professional, kind and supportive. Thank you to you all for all the support I and his wife have received.

The ariel system for the home and its rooms is inadequate which doesn't give all free view channels and can be temperamental. My father often has to wait 20 to 30 minutes for his internal call bell to be answered.

My father, who had Alzheimer's and severe mobility issues, stayed with Saltwood Care Centre for the last few weeks of his life. His room was spacious and clean and had a beautiful view of the sea. My family and I visited at various times of the day, the staff were, without fail, welcoming and...
What I really appreciated was the kind, caring way the care home treated my mother when she visited as well. They could not do enough for her and were incredibly compassionate when he died.
I cannot recommend this care home highly enough.
Thank you for such a lovely review, Jane. We are so pleased you were happy with the care your dad received.

Thank you so much for your kind words, it was a pleasure to take care of you loved one.
My mum was in Saltwood for over five months recuperating from a stroke, and we cannot fault the care and respect that she received. The food was amazing, with homemade goodies. The staff were brilliant, and the entertainment could not be faulted.

Hello, thank you so much for your kind words; it was a pleasure looking after your loved one. Please don't hesitate if you require our support in the future.

My mother was at this nursing home for the year before her death. She was totally bed-bound, and over the last 12 months of her life, she gradually lost her voice and the use of one arm. My family visited at various times of the day and on different days of the week. The care home were excellent in their care of Mum. I wish that I had known that Mum could need nursing care when I had picked a care home a couple of years ago, as it would have been better for her to go to the nursing home in the first place and not be moved here later. Thank you, Saltwood Care Centre, you have been brilliant!
Thank you so much for you kind words, I will be sure to share with all at Saltwood. It was a pleasure having your loved one in our care.

My mother was only meant to be in for four weeks and ended up nine months. Although my mother wanted to go home, she was treated well and looked after and has come home better than when she went in. She had a grade four bed sore when she went into the care home from the hospital and was treated at the care home and fully healed her bed sore, which we are very grateful for as my mother was suffering in a lot of pain for weeks.
It was our pleasure taking care of your mum and so pleased the end result of getting home was achieved.

I Joined SCC as a receptionist in Nov 2020, in the middle of the Covid lockdown, previously working in guest services.
Both my husband and sister work within the company and I was very aware of the effect covid was having within the care home industry and really wanted to help. My intention was to return to my old job but here I am over 3 years later and now a resident experience manager.
I have always had a great relationship with our resident's families and now I get to spend time with the residents too. I look after the domestic team, catering and reception. I also support The Home Manager, Sophie as much as possible. Sophie and I work very well together and enjoy a fantastic working relationship. Saltwood has a great team, and I am very proud of them daily.
