Saltwood Care Centre

I have lived here since I came out of the hospital. Rooms have a nice view of the gardens. The meals are very good and plentiful. The home staff and management are providing a pretty for me and 18 of my relatives for my 80th birthday on 26/10/2024.

I came to Sandringham Ward (naked). You gave me food and drink (coffee) and you clothed me.

There have been occasional lapses in care. When I came I found that he had previously opened his bowels but his bottom had not been cleaned. He has complained to me that one or two carers have not treated him with respect and have been rude. Whether this is because they find it difficult to understand his speech and become impatient I don't know but generally the carers are kind, helpful, patient and understanding.

I cannot praise Saltwood more and highly recommend their facilities and teams.

Good knowledge and understanding of patients' needs. Excellent activities throughout the day.

The only thing to criticise was the dirty-looking carpet.

Both of our parents received great care at Saltwood. The staff are all excellent.

On the very few occasions when we did need something done, we only had to ask and the management team took care of it.

I had my first break and I really enjoyed it. I didn't think I would like it here but I really enjoy being here.

My Uncle greatly enjoyed his staff of almost just over 2 years at Saltwood Care Centre. Ownership during this period has changed, improvements have been made and are underway in marked down. The staff have been wonderfully kind to us and my Uncle and we are very grateful to them. We have experienced other homes and consider Saltwood to be head and shoulders above the rest.

My brother has been in this home for a year having suffered a serious stroke nineteen years ago. He is not able to converse easily but the staff give him time to try and in fact, with their help, he is now able to say more words. Staff are friendly and caring, laugh and joke with him, this helps tremendously. They are encouraged to take part in activities which helps them to keep their brains going, this is important. I have no hesitation in recommending Saltwood Care Centre. Well done to them all.

Mum looks so much healthier since being here and has a great relationship with all the staff. It's so laid back and you really feel welcome visiting. Thank you Saltwood for everything.

From cleaners to management you cannot ask for a more dedicated group of people. Mum was at the home for two and a half years and was looked after very well. The carers and nurses work so hard, but always had time for Mum (even when she was being nasty). Just wish she could have joined in with the activities which are run so well.

My father was admitted to Saltwood Care Centre in October 2022 following a fall at home. He remained at the nursing home until his passing in June 2023. The care he received was exemplary despite him being very difficult at times. All the staff that cared for him were kind, professional and non-judgemental. I would also say that the support I received from the staff throughout this very difficult time was incredible. They were attentive and kind and were always willing to lend an ear to me! I always had a smile from them when I arrived ! The reception and office staff were also exceptionally professional, kind and supportive. Thank you to you all for all the support I and his wife have received.

The ariel system for the home and its rooms is inadequate which doesn't give all free view channels and can be temperamental. My father often has to wait 20 to 30 minutes for his internal call bell to be answered.

I cannot recommend this care home highly enough.

This care home is outstanding. My Nan has been there 7 and a half years and recently passed away and all I can say about the staff and facilities are there outstanding I honestly can not recommend and speak highly enough about this home. The staff become family. The care that was given was exactly what we as a family wanted. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

My mum was in Saltwood for over five months recuperating from a stroke, and we cannot fault the care and respect that she received. The food was amazing, with homemade goodies. The staff were brilliant, and the entertainment could not be faulted.

My mother was at this nursing home for the year before her death. She was totally bed-bound, and over the last 12 months of her life, she gradually lost her voice and the use of one arm. My family visited at various times of the day and on different days of the week. The care home were excellent in their care of Mum. I wish that I had known that Mum could need nursing care when I had picked a care home a couple of years ago, as it would have been better for her to go to the nursing home in the first place and not be moved here later. Thank you, Saltwood Care Centre, you have been brilliant!

My mother was only meant to be in for four weeks and ended up nine months. Although my mother wanted to go home, she was treated well and looked after and has come home better than when she went in. She had a grade four bed sore when she went into the care home from the hospital and was treated at the care home and fully healed her bed sore, which we are very grateful for as my mother was suffering in a lot of pain for weeks.
