MHA Greenways is located in the seaside town of Bognor Regis. Greenways provides a homely en suite accommodation for 44 residents with residential and residential dementia care needs. As well as long term care, Greenways offers short-term stay.

Residents enjoy home cooked food, spending time in the secure, landscaped gardens and a varied activities programme which is based on their preferences - this includes visits to the garden centre and walks along the promenade at the seafront.

At Greenways, a music therapist interacts with residents through singalongs, playing simple percussion instruments and responding to musical cues in either a one-to-one or group setting.

The accommodation is designed to suit professional care standards, while carers themselves take pride in helping residents to achieve an independent lifestyle in which they feel at home and respected.

The carers, who as ever in a care home setting, are hard pressed, are notwithstanding this, supportive and attentive. The manager is very hardworking and is an excellent leader of the team. Whilst understanding that time is at a premium for staff, the one area which could be improved is communication
on specific actions that arise from the Care Plan for the resident e.g. progress on medical appointments and, for example, are physiotherapy exercises being administered.

My mother has only been at this home a short time but since she has been here she has improved and engages more. The communication from the home and the interaction the carers have with my mother is very good.

I think everyone is very approachable and my client seems very happy here. The Senior Carer is really nice, supportive and very good with the residents. Every carer I have seen has been caring and compassionate. The Activity Coordinator has been great at sorting out visits during and outside of Covid
and setting up brilliant activities with the residents. The home is well kept and I am looking forward to seeing the refurbishments when complete.

My mother has settled in well at Greenways. The staff are very attentive and communication between them and myself is excellent. During busy times, and especially Covid lockdowns, they were always polite and gave me time. The care home is undergoing a makeover so there has been a little disruption i.e.
noise and people moving beds about but we have been informed of progress along the way. I have already recommended Greenways to a friend and their relative is now also a resident and making more of life. The permanent staff team are always friendly and obviously works well together while being attentive to all.

Of course, one does not want a parent or loved one to develop dementia. It is a terrible illness. However, that is not something that one can control. If it happens, however, it would be a blessing for the dementia sufferer to be at Greenways, and a relief for their family to know that they will be
cared for and treated with dignity, respect and affection. I live abroad but it was a pleasure, and relief, for me to be able to visit my mother and see her so well cared for, and an immense comfort to my father to know that she is safe, secure and very well provided for. The activities are marvellous and the home dealt with the government-imposed mandates due to Covid very well. The staff are friendly and always helpful. It is indicative of their care and their attitude that they have a sign in the home (I paraphrase)- “remember that the patient lives here and this is their home, you only work here.” Thank God for those that do work here.

My mum was a resident for six years until she recently passed away. I cannot praise the manager and staff highly enough - they were a great support to us. She was very happy throughout her stay there. I will continue to support Greenways as much as I am able.

My mother has been a resident at Greenways for five years. During that time, she has been well looked after and very happy. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday, and despite the restrictions of Covid-19, my sister and I were able to spend valuable time with her for the first time since lockdown.
The staff decorated her room, joined in singing happy birthday to her and made the day memorable for us and Mum. The staff are always professional, kind and caring.

My mother has received excellent care from all members of staff at Greenways ever since she became a resident 2 years ago. She has been very happy and settled from the day she moved in and we have always found everyone supportive and approachable should we have any concerns or worries about her. The
home has also coped extremely well during the COVID crisis and it is a comfort to know Num continues to be well cared for.

My mother-in-law has lived at Greenways for nearly two years and from the transition from living in her own home to Greenways until now, I have been very impressed with the care she has received. Like many people, she has significant health needs and I am particularly impressed by how proactive the
staff are in managing this, in partnership with the GP surgery next door.
I live a significant distance away and am very happy with communication with and from the staff who are always so helpful when I telephone or email. My mother-in-law was in hospital recently and was very anxious to return home to Greenways as she knew she would get the care there that she needed to recover. For her to refer to Greenways as home is testament to the care and attention she receives daily and which we are both very grateful for.

Mum has always been treated with care and respect. The staff are very caring, friendly and helpful. The home is well run and organised.

My aunt was a resident of Greenways from March 2019 to March 2020 when she died peacefully at the home; having been so well looked after by the lovely staff.
She had a lovely large room that was always kept spotlessly clean. The staff were always helpful, professional and caring. They work extremely
hard and take pride in their work.

We have been pleased from the outset of his care at this home.
The staff are always helpful and polite.
The care home always smells pleasant; which is not always the case when you visit other homes.
His room is spacious and always clean.
We can speak only praise to the staff who are stoically managing

All the staff are working so hard under very challenging and difficult circumstances. I am amazed that they can keep so cheerful and attending to their duties in a very caring and professional manner. My father who is 97 and has been a resident for over one year always remarks on how lucky he is to
be attended to by such caring, compassionate and cheerful staff, as well as occupying a warm, spacious and comfortable room. The meals he receives are freshly cooked and well presented too and of course very tasty. I hope Greenways is still available when my time of need comes along.

My wife was a resident of Greenways from Sept 2018 to May 2019, when she died with a staff member by her side playing some of her favourite music. The care during this period was excellent, particularly during the "End of Life Phase" when the attention to my wife's needs was extraordinary. I was assured
that she would not be rushed to the hospital and the necessary care provided in the home. The cooperation between the Home Staff and the local NHS Staff was particularly good with the District Nurse offering both support and advice.

In May we used Greenways as a benchmark to review local homes for my mum. Nothing compared and we have been very pleased that Mum settled into this beautiful, purpose-designed care home with almost no distress after leaving her family home at 94. From the outset, Mum and the family discovered a loving
and sensitive staff willing to help resolve our 1001 questions, mums health needs and offer the reassurance that mum was valued.
Staff cope with Mum's deafness and moods and have improved her well being with foot care and bathing.
Despite health limitations, she becomes involved in many of the activities that are available and interaction with other residents. Mum has made new friends. She has a room she particularly likes as she can see the main road and life going on! There is a superb garden she can access.
Staff took out her along the prom (ice cream of course).
Mums just celebrated her 95th birthday and was baked a cake. My mum is happy and has a new home now - Greenways.

Sylwia Fafara

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2021

I joined MHA Hampton Lodge care home in 2011 as an Administrator and was promoted to Admin Manager and Regional Admin Support. After completing my Level 5 Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care qualification and winning MHA's Learning Achievement of the Year Award, I successfully applied to be Home Manager at Greenways in 2021 where I have been leading a dedicated team ever since.


My current role is amazing. I am really enjoying it and for me it’s a dream come true. Having worked in the care industry for over 20 years, I know the difference a great home can make to the quality of residents' lives and my mission is to make Greenways a home from home, where everyone feels valued and loved.

| have 12 years experience of working in the care industry and prior to MHA I worked in HR. Working as Admin Manager for Greenways is truly rewarding. I joined the Greenways family in 2019 and it's such a friendly place to work and I love getting to know all our residents and their friends and families. I have so many favourite memories but the one that comes to mind first is of the recent Christmas Craft Fair where we had live music, Mrs Claus welcoming children, and wonderful stalls.

Even after working in the building industry for over 40 years, I wasn't ready to retire, so when this Maintenance role came up in 2019, I jumped at the chance to contribute my experience to a very worthwhile organisation. Over the last six years, I've made great friends with residents, their friends and families, as well as MHA colleagues. One of my favourite residents was a gentleman who I discovered grew up in the same town (Dunstable in Bedfordshire) and we even went to the same school.

I loved my work placement at Greenways so much that I joined as a permanent Care Assistant after completing my NQL Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification at Chichester College in April 2024. What I find most rewarding, is knowing that I'm contributing to the happiness of residents and their friends and families every day. I am really enjoying my role, and I am so happy I decided to take it on. My highlight so far has been dancing with residents and their visitors at the Christmas party. Dancing is my favourite hobby so I was in my element!
