My mother has been in the home now for one year and is very happy and settled. The staff are amazing, they have an inordinate amount of patience, even when she is difficult and uncooperative. They keep me informed about everything and make me very welcome each week when I visit. I can now relax knowing that she is in safe hands. It is a lovely home and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

My mum has now been at Greensleeves for 3.5 years, which is definitely home to her now. On visiting my mum weekly, she seems really happy and content and always greets me with her lovely smile, which means everything to me. The staff are amazing, always there to comfort her. The home is excellent, as well as the food and activities. Really appreciate the care my mum receives from all the staff at this very friendly, run home.

Having had my mother in another care home, which was not so good, we as a family are really glad we found Greensleeves. Everyone there is helpful and kind. According to my mother, the food is very good and she seems much healthier because of this. As for activities, it's been lovely to see just how many ways the staff at Greensleeves find to amuse and occupy the ladies.

But the main benefit for our family is knowing that our mother is in safe and caring hands.

Greensleeves exudes laughter, love and positivity. Mum has been here for two years and is so happy. There are activities every day, quiet reflective spaces and a wonderful garden.
The staff are incredible, they know each lady as an individual, their likes and dislikes, always encouraging them or just sitting having a chat, even reading a book together. The food is delicious, my mum has special dietary restrictions which are catered for no problem.
All the staff team are very approachable from the cleaners to management and will help me and Mum with what is needed.

Knowing my mum is here is a huge relief for me. I know she is loved, cared for and the staff want to do the best for her. Mum is non-verbal now and whenever I see her she always has a big happy smile on her face, you can’t fake that kind of happiness.

Greensleeves is the perfect care home I cannot praise it enough, from the very high level of care and respect shown to my mother to the very high standard of cleanliness. The place is spotless at all times and my mother's room is always cleaned to a high standard. The food is varied and wholesome with lots of desserts and if Mum doesn’t want it or like it they go out of their way to find something she does, no problem at all. The activities here are plentiful and varied with something for everyone every morning and afternoon. The staff are all fantastic from the managers, cleaners, chefs, laundry, activities and carers and especially helpful throughout the pandemic was the office staff who have kept us all in the loop and made appointments for us to visit. The staff treat all the ladies with great respect and dignity and are very gentle and kind at all times. Mum has improved dramatically since she came here 18 months ago and I wouldn’t have her anywhere else. Facebook is great for updates. 5-stars!

My mother resided at Greensleeves Care Home after going into hospital for an initial assessment but stayed on a little longer until being hospitalised again and after another assessment, it was decided that she could return to her own home as she had improved.
Staff at Greensleeves showed kindness and compassion throughout her stay and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was adequate and the chef and food choices were fabulous. There was so much entertainment for the residents and things to do every day should they wish to join in.

I cannot thank you all enough and would recommend Greensleeves to anyone.

My mother has now become part of the Greensleeves family having been a resident for three years with advance dementia, she has problems with communication but this has not prevented her from being made welcome and joining in with all the daily activities. The backbone of this wonderful care home is the quality, dedication and diligence of all the staff led by the management team which extends to all the wonderful carers, the cleaners and the catering staff who prepare excellent food with various choices and different menus each day.
The building is always clean and tidy to a high standard, we have witnessed the building improvements that have occurred, obviously, the impact of the last two years has prevented some of the planned works from going ahead, although this I am sure will be back on track soon.
The dedication of all the staff has been amazing over the past two years in the most challenging times.

I simply can't praise and recommend this unique women-only care home.

My mother became a resident in 2008 and in the Thirteen years in the care of the management and staff it became her second home, some of the staff still working there to this day. Over the years the improvement to the facilities and the activities provided have been of the highest standard, the memorable Summer and Christmas parties and numerous other activities to engage and stimulate the ladies. The openness and inclusion by management and staff are unrivalled. At the age of 98, my mother was hospitalised and it was deemed fit that she enter a Nursing home but much to my relief, the staff were adamant that they could provide the care she needed and so she was able to spend her final days back at her home with what became her second family. I cannot praise them highly enough for the help and support given over the years and would highly recommend Greensleeves to any future residents.

On entering the home in March and talking to the manager, we were immediately impressed by the warm welcome and friendliness of all the staff, the homely atmosphere and cleanliness. The staff nursed Mum through Coronavirus, caring not only for Mum but supporting and keeping her family updated. We were so thrilled to learn of all the activities, both in and out of the home. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, certain activities can't take place, for instance, a day trip to the seaside was planned but was told they held a beach party outside in the garden area which was enjoyed by all. On seeing Mum's room for the first time when restrictions had eased a little, I was so impressed. The room has been decorated and furnished beautifully and is absolutely spotless. A socially distanced lunch to celebrate Mum's 91st birthday was arranged for my two sisters and I. It was held in the garden area. The manager and staff made us so welcome. The lunch was delicious and we enjoyed a truly memorable experience.

Greensleeves is one of those rare things - a nearly perfect care home. Mum has been treated as one of the family from day one, has made friends easily and the care she has received is exemplory. With daily activities and entertainments, but times of quiet too she is settled and very much at home. The team work tirelessly to ensure that they know the requirements of each lady, and meet those needs with genuine love and care, and always with a smile. There are links with the local community, outings and a wonderful garden to send time in during the sunny days. Family members are invited to participate in the "Family Forum" meetings which are always informative and show first hand how much thought is given to the care and wellbeing of all the ladies. Diet and nutrition are always given much thought, and meals are always well presented. Dementia is a terrible thing, but I believe if Mum could have chosen her own care this would have been it. Thank you every one.

I have been visiting a friend on mine in the home for the past few years and I can not recommend the home enough.
Since my friend joined Greensleeves she has come so far and really improved since her move from home!
She gets involved in all the day-to-day activities and is now eating far better than she was at home.

Amazing home and will always recommend to others.

The improvement my mother has made since going to Greensleeves is significant. From the outset you got the impression that they want the best life the residents can achieve. The managers and staff alike all care for the residents as if they are family. I can't speak highly enough of the efforts Greensleeves have gone to.

Greensleeves is Mum’s home, and she couldn’t be in a better, safer environment, and that really means everything to us as her family. These are such terribly difficult times and to have peace of mind that Mum is receiving the very best care for both her mental and physical health is priceless, and we can never repay or express our gratitude adequately. I am a nurse myself, and in my career have reached a board-level position at a major teaching hospital. I have to say that the care and compassion that the whole Greensleeves team gave us is outstanding and second to none. This is a truly really amazing home and a rarity in my experience.

My mum moved into Greensleeves at the end of November 2019, coming from a different residential home. I cannot believe the difference in her since she has been there; she is so much happier and healthier. She does not want for anything and you can see she really enjoys it at Greensleeves! (It is like having a piece of my old Mum back).

Greensleeves keeps me updated on any changes to her health/well-being. The home is always clean and tidy, and the staff always friendly and welcoming! There is a sense of caring from 1-2-1 group exercises and events, all of which keep the residents involved!

I would like to congratulate all the staff on their continued excellent work and care of my mum and all the residents at Greensleeves. The Christmas Party last December was outstanding. We all had a great time and all the events and activities over the Christmas period were really good. I love that Mum's care home is run by a family, not a big chain. It really shows that the staff actually care about what they are doing and its always so friendly and welcoming. I have just completed Mum's Care Plan review and I couldn't ask for anything more. The staff are always approachable with any queries I have and always have time to help. Above all, the most important thing for me is that Mum is happy and receiving the best possible care - and I fell that she certainly is! Mum is in her 4th Year at Greensleeves now and during that time I have have seen it just get better and better. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Many thanks to you all for your continued good work and dedication.

My mother is a resident and has been for two years. As I live in America, I am unable to visit or take care of my mum. I find this home to be clean comfortable friendly professional and caring. The staff are all great and I call every day to talk to Mum. I hear some of the interactions the staff have with her and they are extremely patient and caring. There are often forms of entertainment from singers to exercise, some art lessons and even a Hawaiian day among a few. The home ensures my mum gets to all her medical appointments and updates me whenever she is sick or trips over her own feet which has happened. My mum has Parkinson's and with the symptoms, can be a little difficult at times but they handle her well. I am in constant contact with staff and management and they are doing a fantastic job. I am protective of my mum - she means the world to me but I feel she could not be in a better place with such constant care. I could not take as good care of her as these wonderful people.

I am absolutely delighted with the care my mother is receiving. I cannot sing it's praises highly enough. The kindness of the staff is second to none and there is constant monitoring of the residents and a really good staff ratio. The daily activities and outings are catered towards various stages of dementia, music, crafts, exercise, quizzes etc. Menus are nutritious and closely monitored and the communication between staff and families is excellent. Doctor's concerns are relayed immediately. Spotless cleanliness.

Mary Johnston
Mary JohnstonJob Title:Care ManagerJoined: 2022

Hello, my name is Mary and I have been in the care sector since 1984. I worked in various sectors such as mental health, learning disability, elderly, acquired brain injury and neurological disorders. I joined Greensleeves in May 2022 and I am now the Registered Manager of the home.

What sets Greensleeves apart for me is that it is not just a care home, it is a home from home where our ladies are enabled to live the lives they choose. At Greensleeves, we do not just focus on the ladies’ physical needs but also their well-being needs and this is paramount to us, this means we enable and support them to be independent and we support them to pursue occupational tasks, interests and hobbies as well as supporting them to develop new ones. We also nurture and support the ladies to develop real friendships with their peers. Coming to a care home should be about continuing on life’s journey where you maintain your independence and continue to feel enriched and fulfilled. What it should not be is being unable to do the things one liked to do prior to admission, but supported to carry on doing all the things one liked to do in the past and present. We pride ourselves in ensuring all our ladies have the most person-centred care plan and this starts the moment they make the decision to come and stay at Greensleeves. We involve not only the ladies themselves in this process but also their loved ones so we can reflect all their needs, wishes and aspirations in their care plan. We very much value our staff and want to hear what they have to say, they are critical to the effective running of the home and make a formidable team. I am very proud of all of our achievements and we as a team look forward to keeping up the high standards. I will ensure I continue to drive improvements forward so we not only strive for the best but also deliver only the best.

Gemma Chant
Gemma ChantJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2008

I joined Greensleeves over 13 years ago and l started my career as a care assistant with the drive and dedication of management, my team and my passion for care, my career has grown and l am now a deputy manager.

I am committed to ensuring our vision is achieved by giving each resident outstanding person-centred care and ensuring that all residents are given the highest quality of care.

Our residents are involved in every step of their day and any improvements or changes we look to bring into the home to ensure they are involved in every aspect of their lives.

I strive to be supportive and to develop my teams to ensure our vision is achieved and each staff member feels part of the Greensleeves family, trying to ensure that their ideas, concerns and points of view are always heard and acted upon to be able to achieve a team of people fully involved their workplace.

While we have achieved and introduced many new ways of working and ideas, one of my most proudest achievements is the development of my leadership skills and being able to support the team to be one and happy when they are working at Greensleeves.

Abigail Farrar
Abigail FarrarJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2017

I joined the Greensleeves family almost 8 years ago as a carer and since then I have been promoted to deputy manager to support our residents and staff in living the highest quality of life that we can offer.

I love coming to Greensleeves and being able to see our residents living life to their fullest, being able to support them in carrying out activities and hobbies that they wish to do consoling residents and giving one-to-one if they are not having their best day.

I firmly believe that my purpose at Greensleeves is to support our residents in living their best lives and to have as much fun as possible, ensuring that they are involved in every aspect of their lives.

A lot of my day revolves around supporting the team to be able to give their best to the residents, carrying out quality audits focusing on the resident's happiness and fulfilment at home and developing new ideas and ways of working.

So far, one of the greatest achievements I have put in place at Greensleeves is Namaste care, which has been a real success for those who live with advanced dementia, offering them an activity that is almost one-to-one and attuned to supporting them in feeling relaxed and calm through massages, sensory activities, their favourite food and drink and supporting them in feeling comforted and relaxed.

Marcos Oliveira
Marcos OliveiraJob Title:Head ChefJoined: 2019

My name is Marcos Oliveira, and I am from Brazil. I am 43 years old. I began working at Greensleeves in June 2019 with a very basic level of English. I am grateful to James and Declan for giving me the opportunity to start as a kitchen assistant. I quickly developed a passion for working in the kitchen, and within six months, I progressed to cooking.

What I truly enjoy about working at Greensleeves is witnessing the happiness and joy of our clients when they receive the service they deserve, delivered with passion and love. Hearing their compliments about well-cooked and beautifully presented food and desserts is incredibly rewarding. It makes us feel proud of the work we do here.
