We as a family, 4 sons of a resident just been taken into this care home, are very impressed with the overall facilities and dedication of the staff. We feel these qualities are key to our mum's continued and ongoing care.

Improvements are currently being carried out and I'm sure will add to the excellent care provided.

Mum has only been in the home for a short period of time and has settled in fairly quickly.
This has to be attributed to the caring, considerate nature of all the staff.
Nothing seems to be too much trouble.

The residents are treated extremely well.

To place my wife in a care home is traumatic, but Greensleeves management and staff take away the problems in a professional but homely way.

My Mum has been at Greensleeves just over 2 years, in all that time Mum has been treated with dignity in a professional, but friendly, caring manner from all levels of staff and management. In August Mum had a chest infection, they called the doctor twice and then admitted to hospital. Mum passed away after 3 weeks aged nearly 97 and Greensleeves kept in touch asking about her progress. I would recommend them to anyone as their care gave me that extra 2 years with Mum.

My mother was a resident in Greensleeves for about 19 months. She received outstanding care the whole time, and she was not an easy client.

Having a relative in a care home was a new and worrying experience, but all the staff are helpful and willing to assist in any situation that may arise. The management have been very willing to help with any aspect of my mother's care, making her stay here a very good experience and not the negative time that I thought it might be. I would recommend Greensleeves to anybody.

Greensleeves Care Home is a warm and welcoming environment, The house and rooms are very clean with fresh artificial flowers and lovely gardens. They have a varied activity programme including musical entertainment and also interact on a 1-1 basis caring for their nails and feet very well. They have home cooked food and many tea breaks to enjoy and keep a watchful eye on fluid intake in hot weather. The staff are supportive of the resident's needs, they listen and appease their anxieties and are extremely patient. They enjoy friendly banter with the residents. Overall for peace fo mind for the relatives and loved ones it is an ideal home from home.

My mother was a resident of Greensleeves for 5 and a half years. I would whole heartedly recommend the home. The staff and management are approachable, friendly and very caring. The residents are treated with dignity and compassion. The only reason my mother has moved is because her condition now required nursing care. No issues.

Once mum had decided that a care home would be the best place for her future years, we started to look for a suitable place. Greensleeves ticked all the boxes. A small privately run homely place where the overriding feeling was one of tender loving care. Mum settled in very well and soon her general health and confidence improved significantly. She tells me weekly how kind everybody is to her. Her room is lovely and kept clean every day. Mum likes to spend much of her time in her room with her TV and radio she is supported in this choice but often encouraged to join in activities with other residents. Mum is able to have her hair done often and enjoys the foot spas also. I have found all the staff very kind and helpful be it the cleaner, cook, support staff, maintenance or the management team. Nothing is too much trouble. It feels like a kind and happy family home.

We chose Greensleeves Care Home for our mum originally for the home from home feel. Mum had everything she needed including a wonderful staff that treated her with so much care and respect. She loved everyone there. There were constant reviews to make sure mum was still getting the right care. Thank you, Greensleeves Care Home.

The care home is warm and friendly, staff are always welcoming and always seem to be pleased to see visitors. Near Christmas, Greensleeves had a party for the residents and their friends and relatives which was really well done and everyone appeared to enjoy it.

My mother likes it there and the staff make a fuss of her (which she enjoys).

My mum was in Greensleeves Care Home for over 6 years until she passed away in August. When Mum first went into Greensleeves Care Home she was confused and her memory was poor but could talk, feed herself and was continent. She was anxious and tearful and could be stubborn. Over time, she deteriorated and became immobile, unable to communicate or feed herself and was double incontinent. Greensleeves Care Home is like a family home, clean, well-maintained with good food. Mum enjoyed the activities. The staff are kind and understanding of the care and all the time professional. I know with Mum's reactions to staff, she grew to love and trust them as family. I had total trust that Mum was well cared for and her changing needs were met.

Mary Johnston
Mary JohnstonJob Title:Care ManagerJoined: 2022

Hello, my name is Mary and I have been in the care sector since 1984. I worked in various sectors such as mental health, learning disability, elderly, acquired brain injury and neurological disorders. I joined Greensleeves in May 2022 and I am now the Registered Manager of the home.

What sets Greensleeves apart for me is that it is not just a care home, it is a home from home where our ladies are enabled to live the lives they choose. At Greensleeves, we do not just focus on the ladies’ physical needs but also their well-being needs and this is paramount to us, this means we enable and support them to be independent and we support them to pursue occupational tasks, interests and hobbies as well as supporting them to develop new ones. We also nurture and support the ladies to develop real friendships with their peers. Coming to a care home should be about continuing on life’s journey where you maintain your independence and continue to feel enriched and fulfilled. What it should not be is being unable to do the things one liked to do prior to admission, but supported to carry on doing all the things one liked to do in the past and present. We pride ourselves in ensuring all our ladies have the most person-centred care plan and this starts the moment they make the decision to come and stay at Greensleeves. We involve not only the ladies themselves in this process but also their loved ones so we can reflect all their needs, wishes and aspirations in their care plan. We very much value our staff and want to hear what they have to say, they are critical to the effective running of the home and make a formidable team. I am very proud of all of our achievements and we as a team look forward to keeping up the high standards. I will ensure I continue to drive improvements forward so we not only strive for the best but also deliver only the best.

Gemma Chant
Gemma ChantJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2008

I joined Greensleeves over 13 years ago and l started my career as a care assistant with the drive and dedication of management, my team and my passion for care, my career has grown and l am now a deputy manager.

I am committed to ensuring our vision is achieved by giving each resident outstanding person-centred care and ensuring that all residents are given the highest quality of care.

Our residents are involved in every step of their day and any improvements or changes we look to bring into the home to ensure they are involved in every aspect of their lives.

I strive to be supportive and to develop my teams to ensure our vision is achieved and each staff member feels part of the Greensleeves family, trying to ensure that their ideas, concerns and points of view are always heard and acted upon to be able to achieve a team of people fully involved their workplace.

While we have achieved and introduced many new ways of working and ideas, one of my most proudest achievements is the development of my leadership skills and being able to support the team to be one and happy when they are working at Greensleeves.

Abigail Farrar
Abigail FarrarJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2017

I joined the Greensleeves family almost 8 years ago as a carer and since then I have been promoted to deputy manager to support our residents and staff in living the highest quality of life that we can offer.

I love coming to Greensleeves and being able to see our residents living life to their fullest, being able to support them in carrying out activities and hobbies that they wish to do consoling residents and giving one-to-one if they are not having their best day.

I firmly believe that my purpose at Greensleeves is to support our residents in living their best lives and to have as much fun as possible, ensuring that they are involved in every aspect of their lives.

A lot of my day revolves around supporting the team to be able to give their best to the residents, carrying out quality audits focusing on the resident's happiness and fulfilment at home and developing new ideas and ways of working.

So far, one of the greatest achievements I have put in place at Greensleeves is Namaste care, which has been a real success for those who live with advanced dementia, offering them an activity that is almost one-to-one and attuned to supporting them in feeling relaxed and calm through massages, sensory activities, their favourite food and drink and supporting them in feeling comforted and relaxed.

Marcos Oliveira
Marcos OliveiraJob Title:Head ChefJoined: 2019

My name is Marcos Oliveira, and I am from Brazil. I am 43 years old. I began working at Greensleeves in June 2019 with a very basic level of English. I am grateful to James and Declan for giving me the opportunity to start as a kitchen assistant. I quickly developed a passion for working in the kitchen, and within six months, I progressed to cooking.

What I truly enjoy about working at Greensleeves is witnessing the happiness and joy of our clients when they receive the service they deserve, delivered with passion and love. Hearing their compliments about well-cooked and beautifully presented food and desserts is incredibly rewarding. It makes us feel proud of the work we do here.
