My husband has been resident at Hollywynd Residential Home for 10 weeks. During this time, unfortunately, his general health has deteriorated and I cannot thank management and staff enough for their caring attitude, helpfulness and general support they have given me and our family. I am unable to comment on "activities" because for his own safety my husband is unable to participate.

I feel that my friend has been well cared for with great respect and dignity since becoming a resident of Hollywynd. As a regular visitor, I have always found all members of staff and management very welcoming, friendly and helpful. There is always someone to talk to, to facilitate visits, and it feels as if nothing is too much trouble. The facilities are always clean and well maintained, and I have no reservations in recommending Hollywynd to any future resident.

My mum is at the care home, she has been looked after for approximately 18 months, where all her care needs have been met. Whenever she has become unwell, the care home has always contacted the allocated family member. My kids have been to see their nan, she has always appeared to be happy and content with what she is doing. They are always making sure she has got her coffee's when she wishes to have one. My mum is always presentable and how she would be when she was at home. I know she is in a place where she is safe and all aspects of her needs fulfilled. No matter what staff member I come across such as the cleaner, gardener, support worker, management I feel so welcomed. Even with the current situation of COVID-19, nothing has changed in the respect that they give the whole family. I always see my mum every week booked and at a safe distance. Many times, I come away with happy tears, knowing my mum is safe and well. There is not enough words that can be said about the staff, so grateful.

Hollywynd has been so lucky with family members respecting our social distancing. I am so pleased to receive such an excellent review, it is well deserved for all our staff. Thank you.

It can be a stressful time when a relative goes into a home. Well into their 90's, my parents were unable to cope in their own home anymore. Hollywynd was recommended to me by their district nurse. Despite my anxieties, the move was a great success and the home was able to accommodate them both together in a lovely double room. They are both very happy and my dad always praises the staff every time I visit. The staff are the home's strongest asset, they are familiar, competent and there is always a feeling of warmth when you enter the front door.

Hollywynd Rest Home provides a high standard of residential care for the elderly. Throughout the seven years that my mother lived there, she was contented and comfortable within a warm welcoming environment. The dedicated staff had shown my mother every courtesy, delivering a high standard of personal care with dignity and kindness.

Kind, caring, sensitive staff who went out of their way to help my Mother feel at ease and to overcome language barrier, resistance and confusion on her part. All medical concerns were dealt with promptly and appropriately. I found everyone involved in my Mother's care, from management, nursing, caring and cleaning staff, approachable, professional, hardworking and extremely helpful.

I have had experience of several care homes looking after elderly relatives and this is one of the best. The most important thing in any care home is the staff, and they are lovely. They treated my occasionally, cantankerous Father with kindness and good humour, and took care to show him compassion and dignity in his final days. Hollywynd has a warm and homely atmosphere, and my Father enjoyed the food. If I was forced to find a negative it would be that his room was rather small, but others were spacious.

My mother was happy to spend some respite at this lovely well managed caring home.

Unfortunately, she had some medical needs which prevented her from it becoming a permanent placement. We would have been happy to have her live here.

My mother recently passed away having been a resident for over 7 years. Over that period, she slowly declined from dementia but she was always happy and content. Whenever I asked her how she was, she always told me "I'm content and lapping it up!" The care and love given to her by staff was exemplary and they always treated her with respect throughout her illness. She had a comfortable room and she always felt safe.

During her last days, the staff were particularly caring and the manager ensured she was as comfortable as possible. My mother eventually passed away peacefully in her sleep and, because I couldn't be there with her, two carers held her hand as she slipped the bonds of this earth.

My mother was visited regularly by her sons and step-sister and we were all treated well by the staff and shown good hospitality.

My mother was resident at Hollywynd for around 7 years. In all her time there she never gave any indication that she was unhappy, and indeed she often used to say that she was "lapping it up!" which was a clear indication of her contentment. Although standards at the home were never poor, there was a marked improvement after a change of ownership and management, which remains in place today. My mother would always greet us with a smile and she would always have nice things to say to the care staff, and it was clear she was a well-liked resident. The home's manager kept us informed of any changes in my mother's condition and was always approachable and willing to talk whenever we wished to discuss anything on our visits. Overall I am very pleased with the standard of care my mother received and I was most touched by the dignity and respect with which she was treated when she passed away. Basically, my mum was happy there, so I'm happy too.

I would just like to say that the level of care afforded to my 95 year old mother has been exemplary - whenever I phone I get the latest details of how Mum has been doing and I am left with the impression that Mum is the only resident! She is very frail and requires extensive care and has been at the home for some years. She recently had a fall and arrangements were swiftly made to admit her to the hospital to have her checked over. I cannot recommend the nursing home too highly.

My mum was at Hollywynd Rest Home and I can't begin to explain how lucky I feel that the home was recommended to me having no previous experience. My mum was truly cared for during a very difficult time for us. The staff were wonderful with my mum (and to be honest with me too!) - even the chef would make things for mum if she wanted something that wasn't on the menu. I cannot recommend the home highly enough and although it was a very sad time for us, I know I couldn't have looked after her better myself. Thank you to everyone there for your kindness towards mum and your support for me.

Excellent care home, warm, friendly and attentive to the resident's individual needs.
Nothing is too much for the staff and the manager is fabulous as well as super helpful.

I spent lots of time visiting different homes for my grandmother nothing came even close to this one and the daily meal menu is also superb, one of the best I have seen.

My mother had to go into a rest homes last December because she was no longer able to care for herself. She was welcomed into Hollywynd by all the staff. They were kind and courteous and very respectful. In short they are a lovely team of people who have make time for her so she never felt rushed. My mum was comfortable well looked after, her clothes were kept clean as were the surroundings. Both my sister and myself felt happy in the knowledge that our mum was so well cared for it was a pleasure to go and visit her.

The manager kept us well informed about any health and welfare issues that occurred during her time there. The manager always had time for us if we had any queries. She also held relative meetings to keep us informed about the running of the home which is very informative.

We are really happy with the service at Hollywynd and would have no hesitation in recommending them. Thank you to the Manager and the team.

My father had a short stay at Hollywynd, but during that time the home organised his 103rd birthday.
He had a most enjoyable afternoon with the Mayor, residents, staff and friends, and the cook provided afternoon tea and a birthday cake.

My father continued to enjoy the meals up to his passing.

The manager kept me fully informed about my father, and was always available to chat if I phoned. She was friendly and approachable.

He became more frail while there and the staff responded well to his increased needs.

I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work and kindness.

My mother and stepfather have been resident at Hollywynd for nearly 6 months, and I have been delighted with quality of care, understanding & consideration shown to them as a couple by all of the staff at the home. They have welcomed me as much as my parents, and have done everything to make the transition from their own home to a care home as smooth and stress free as possible. I am extremely grateful to all of them for their patience, hardwork and dedication, in what must be a very difficult role always undertaken with a smile.
I am welcome to visit whenever I like, I have been able to personalise the room to make it more homely, and am often there at lunchtime to sit with my parents over dinner.
The food is of a very high standard, and all the residents seem happy with the food - in fact my mum has put on weight for the first time in about 10 years.

The new manager, and her team should be very proud of the work they do, in caring for our elderly. I have nothing but praise for all of them and wish I could personally thank them all.
