We have found the staff at Meadowcroft to be exceptional at caring for mum, kind , supportive and helpful to mum and to mums family who have been through the difficulties and decisions to be made as we transition from the rota of family help at home becoming unsustainable to the decision to seek professional care.
We have been lucky to get Mum into Meadowcroft, as the reputation locally means there is always a waiting list.

We are very happy with the prospect of leaving mum in such capable hands and thus allowing family members to visit at will, enjoy a coffee or a meal with mum in such caring and relaxing environment.

Thank you so much for your kind words.

It means a great deal to the entire team to receive such positive feedback. We understand how difficult the transition from supporting a loved one at home to seeking professional care can be, and we are pleased that we have been able to support both your mum...

My mother has been happily living at Meadowcroft for nearly 2 years and I have been happily visiting her daily. The staff are wonderful and treat my mum with respect and dignity at the same as being super friendly and very caring. The home is kept spotlessly clean as are my mum's bedding, towels and clothes and of course herself! The food looks delicious and there is a choice for both lunch and supper. The dining room is like being in a restaurant with table service and lively company. The manager (Susan) is exceptional. She is a very good manger and runs the home perfectly. You can tell the staff love her as they go over and above their duties especially when the home is hosting an event like the summer social - they all turn up and help even on their day off. There is plenty of activities to keep the residents occupied with 2 activity coordinators working 6 mornings between them plus there are regular afternoon events including singers, a keep fit trainer and hand massages.

It was always going to be a challenge for mum to settle into 'Care' life because of the conflict between the needs forced by worsening Alzheimer's versus previously living totally independently. She wasn't easy to begin with and five weeks in, still provides occasional challenges for the team at Meadowcroft. However, from day one they reassured me that she would eventually settle and each day, indeed she does. Totally thanks to the experience of the team, the home from home philosophy and the care provided by every one of the staff. The ratio of staff to residents seems to be spot on and they are all unfailingly kind, cheerful, thoughtful, are open to suggestions and always happily update me when I call them. When I visit, I am always welcomed warmly and if the timing is right, included in whichever of their many daily activities is happening at the time. When you walk in the door of Meadowcroft, the atmosphere just somehow feels just right.

My sister has been in Meadowcroft for over two years and I can't speak highly enough of the care she has had. Numerous activities to keep their clients stimulated plus trips out which is a real bonus. They have nursed her when she has been poorly and always contact her GP if necessary. Relatives are always kept informed and my sister's care regularly assessed.

My mums dementia is getting increasingly worse. The staff at Meadowcroft Croft are really patient with her, and know exactly how to cope with her. They also give me very good advice and put my mind at rest that she is in the best place for her own safety and wellbeing.

My mother had two falls on consecutive days. I was notified about the first one at 5am and was able to meet her at the hospital A & E Dept after Meadowcroft staff had called an ambulance. After returning to Meadowcroft later that afternoon mother then fell again the following lunchtime and was uncomfortably trapped on the floor between a chair and a radiator. Staff sensibly cared for her in situ, choosing not to risk injury through moving her, called for an ambulance and again notified me promptly. After a second hospital visit Mother was assessed by a physiotherapist and given a new walking aid which the staff helped her to get used to in the coming days. In general I always fund Meadowcroft to be clean, warm and welcoming and providing good care to Mother and support to the family. I think the episodes above illustrate the extra level of care provided.

Meadowcroft have really looked after my mum since she moved in during April 2025. All the staff are very caring and supportive, not just to my mum but to us family too. They encourage my mum who has Alzheimers to take part in activities which they hold every morning and afternoon. Mum especially loves the singing activities. The home is very clean and the garden is beautiful. The residents can help in the garden if they enjoy gardening. It's lovely that Meadowcroft take the residents out on visits too. Mum loved going to have tea and cake.

Meadowcroft is a really lovely home to all the residents. My mother was wary of moving into a rest home permanently, undertstandably as she has alway been very independant.
The Manager was and is very supportive of all the family .
Mum had three respite stays and enjoyed each stay, and then the time came when she felt she could no longer be independant and was becoming lonely. She made the decision to move in permanently and is very happy.
The staff are all very efficient and kind. There is always a happy atmosphere when I visit Mum.
It is very clean, the food is good and the gardens are beautiful.
There are lots of activities and entertainment, if you want to participate.

All the family are very pleased and happy that Mum has now moved into Meadowcroft, and we all enjoy visiting her.

My Mother came to Meadowcroft in difficult circumstances, as my father had passed away, and she was unable to live independently. Prior to her going there sisters and I looked around the different care homes in Shoreham By Sea and Meadowcroft shone out as a nice, friendly place where my mother would feel comfortable and be safe. In making the transition to staying there, the staff were very helpful and friendly, making her feel welcome and part of the care home family. Mum moved there in April 2025 and has settled in nicely now. Mum has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and has short term memory problems. The staff at Meadowcroft are well aware of this and are able to assist with her needs. Before moving there she sometimes would not get dressed or washed, now though she has got into a nice routine takes a certain pride in her appearance, which I think is indicative of how well she has adjusted to living there.

Very friendly and approachable staff and very attentive. Nothing is too much trouble for them if my grandmother would like or needs something. I feel she is safe and being very well cared for here. They are very friendly, caring and competent staff. There is wide range of options for meals available. I first visited Meadowcroft in the summer of 2024 and immediately felt it was the perfect place for my mum to move to once she was no longer able to stay at home independently. It's so friendly and homely, the staff are all really kind and thoughtful and it is managed really well. The rooms are characterful, spacious and bright. One of the most important things to me was to find a care home for mum which genuinely had a lot of activities going on for the residents, as I knew mum would not settle well otherwise. Each Sunday a new activities timetable for the week is delivered to the residents rooms so that they can choose what they would like to join in with during the week ahead. Singing sessions, exercise classes, visits from the children from the nursery next door. And much more. It's such a relief to know my mum is being so well cared for.
