Meadowcroft was home to my aunt for 5 years. The carers and original management were fabulous. Getting to know family as well as my aunt. We were extremely happy with the care our aunt was receiving. Sadly, following new management, at the age of 97 we were told that the management felt they could not cater for her. We found a lovely nursing home but sadly a couple of weeks after the move which was very traumatic for her she developed a chest infection and passed away. As our aunt had only just left Meadowcroft after many years of calling it home, we felt it courteous that we should advise them. We were disappointed then that the management did not have the courtesy to acknowledge the event by replying to our email.

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. We are very sad to hear of your aunt's death. The new management took time to get to know your aunt and she was given all the care and attention she needed but regretfully she soon needed nursing care and this is not something we can provide, as we...

Staying in Meadowcroft was a new experience for me as I had never been away from home on my own before. I fitted in after the first week and I felt happy and safe and being well looked after.

The food was excellent and the staff were caring and very helpful when I needed help and advice.

The staff at Meadowcroft are absolutely marvellous! Kind, caring and

attentive. Mum's room is now her world. It could and should be updated and made more modern, and appointed better. It's obvious to say that cost of her care is extremely high. I'm not sure how value of money can be assessed.

Thank you for the review and I am pleased that you find the staff caring and that your mum is happy here. We were delighted that we could give her a wonderful birthday party recently. As we only took over the Home in February we are moving as quickly as possible to update rooms and as you can see...

Overall Experience

It is always a very difficult decision, to reach a point where someone very dear to you needs 24/7 care. But from the moment I walked into Meadowcroft, I was impressed by the 'homely' feel, the cleanliness, the lounges, dining room and garden, the bright en-suite bedrooms and the happy and caring staff, led by the manager, who showed such kindness and calm support and who has a vast background of experience in the caring profession. Nothing is too much trouble for the comfort of the residents. There has never been a time when I visited where I was not greeted with a warm smile and helpfulness from staff, and the manager has always been available to talk to when needed. Although it was obviously a big move for my dear friend who needed care, she has said many times that she cannot fault the home, the staff, meals or facilities. I feel very fortunate to have found such a caring place for her.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We are so pleased that you find the home homely and the staff helpful. We try really hard to support residents coming to a care home and understand how difficult the decision must be for everyone concerned.

Wonderful place with fantastic caring and supportive staff. I could not recommend highly enough. All needs are catered for, entertainment is provided and the care is second to none. I am very privileged to have Mum there and she is very happy and extremely well looked after.
