Mum came to Oaklands from the hospital at the beginning of March. The plan was for a couple of months of respite care to build up her strength and mobility. Not only did both of these improve, but we also saw an improvement in her mental health and by the beginning of April, she decided to become a permanent resident. The care is second to none, the food is wonderful, and the home has a lovely atmosphere. A mixed and varied set of activities keeps the residents engaged. Above all, the staff are welcoming, friendly and attentive.
Thank you for your lovely review; we are pleased that Mum has decided to make Oakland Court her home.
Such caring people. All the staff are considerate and caring to all. They treat all with individuality, empathy and dignity. Love to visit.
Thank you for your review, we are very pleased that you love to visit our home.
We had a lovely afternoon at the annual Christmas party for residents - Mum has been at Oakland for a number of years so we have attended lots. The staff treat Mum as family and know her likes and dislikes extremely well. The food is always an amazing array you would expect to see in a 5* hotel. Such a variety for all tastes from extremely large prawns, crab and salmon to beef, turkey, ham, quiches, coleslaw salad, hot choices and exceptional desserts. Everyone is so friendly and attentive.
Thank you for your kind review Joyce. We were delighted to be able to hold our Christmas party this year and being able to welcome family and friends. We really enjoyed seeing our residents spending time with their loved ones. We are very proud of the hard work that the team have put in to make the event a success and look forward to many more parties in the future.
Oakland is a really lovely care home The staff are always welcoming and friendly to residents and visitors. The level of care is good and staff know individual residents well. There are many activities on offer and residents are encouraged to mix. Managers and staff are well-trained and interact well between themselves. It was a happy atmosphere. The rooms, lounge and dining room are exceptionally smart and always clean. The gardens are lovely and it's a 5 minute walk from two cafes.
Thank you for taking the time to write us a review, we appreciate your positive comments. We are very lucky to be situated in a beautiful area with easy access to the promenade. We have enjoyed welcoming families back into the home. It is lovely to hear families interacting with each other, along with lots of laughter. Dad is a popular member of our family and has made many new friends.
My only complaint is the poorly equipped bathroom. No cupboard, can't use the shower (no seat) as I can't stand to wash (I am short).
Thank you for leaving such a positive review for us here at Oakland Court. Despite our best efforts, we're sorry not to have yet found the perfect solution that fits your requirements, but hope you feel that the measures we are taking meet your needs. We will always endeavour to do our very best to meet your requirements and are grateful for feedback so that we can work with you to address these.
Thank you, all, for everything you do for me, my dad and our family.
Thank you very much for your review. We appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback. I am delighted that your experience is so positive and that you feel reassured that we are caring for your Dad. He has made some great friends here, and The Court is truly his home. Your Dad is loved by all staff and his fellow residents.
Oakland Court has been my father's care home for the last 18 months. It is very clean, tidy and the staff genuinely like their jobs. They are a caring team and my father is very well looked after. His room is clean and tidy. The lounge area is very sociable. My father likes his meals and has company to eat them with at lunch times. It is very welcoming at any time. During the Covid pandemic they were amazing. I would not want him to be anywhere else.
Thank you so much for your taking the time to leave us feedback. We're delighted you feel your father is well looked after. We know just how much your father enjoys socialising at lunch - he is very much part of the family at Oakland Court. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
My mother was admitted during Covid. The staff were very helpful and professional, ensuring this was the right place for her. I have been very impressed by the care shown by all the staff to my mother. She is very happy at Oakland Court. She said, "you don't need to worry about me, I am very happy and well looked after; I love the food too"!
The environment, activities and food were excellent.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home for short or long term stays.
My 89 year old Mum was extremely poorly with asthma. When she went to Oakland Court her care could not have been better. She blossomed and came home within 2 weeks. We could not have chosen a better home for her respite care. The attention to detail, the cleanliness, respect, the excellent food were outstanding. She feels like she has been on holiday and really misses them all. We cannot thank all the lovely staff enough.
I can relax knowing my husband will be well looked after while he is with them.
Brilliant care home.
I feel we chose one of the best homes in the area. The home was nicely decorated, light and very welcoming. The cleanliness was excellent throughout the home. The bedroom was well equipped and homely. The food was of good quality and to my Mothers taste (not over flavoured with herbs and spices)! She enjoyed the various entertainments. Finally, the staff, who without exception, were amazing, nothing was too much trouble, they treated the residents with care and respect and always had a smile and cheery word.
Wonderful caring staff. More than willing to go the extra mile for their residents. Clean well cared for buildings and gardens. Quiet location, level walking to the sea. My mother loves the facility and would not go anywhere else. Really kind and considerate staff across the entire operation. Nothing is too much for them. Keep me informed on how my mother is doing and getting on health-wise.
