The Romans care home is such a wonderful place. The staff are wonderful & very friendly. The residents are well looked after & always look well cared for & happy. I love going in there on a Wednesday Morn to chat & do a quiz with them.

We required a respite care service. Following a prompt response to our enquiry, we visited the home. On our first visit we observed there was a training session going on for staff. Staff were friendly and welcoming, the environment was clean and homely. We visited the home with mum to enable her to meet the staff. We observed positive interactions between staff and residents. The chef was keen to clarify mum's specific diary needs. When she arrived for her stay, the room was clean and ready for her and she was offered lunch. There were fresh flowers and a personal card welcoming her. Several staff popped in to say hello. During her stay there, other friends and family visited and all reported Mum looked well cared for and happy. At the end of her stay, mum was full of praise for how caring the staff were and said they responded to everything she asked for, nothing was too much trouble and she had felt like she has a lovely holiday.

We recently had the hardest decision of placing our beautiful mum into a care home. Luckily for us as a family we found the Romans. We cant express how grateful we are with the exceptional and warm care she has received. The management + staff members are genuinely so caring. Seeing our mum so happy has made what was an incredibly difficult decision so much easier. She has become more engaged, happy, and comfortable. We can wholeheartedly recommend the Romans to anyone looking for a residential home.

Mum's admission to a care home was sudden following another fall at home and subsequently being advised that she needed someone around night and day. Mum said she would like to try Romans as a friend had been happy there for some time. She is now happily settled there and has become a permanent resident. Sarah and all the care team have been so welcoming and made the transition much easier for both mum and us her family. We have seen mum change from struggling to cope at home and too frightened to go into the garden alone to the more confident mum she used to be. She enjoys the company and has been on an outing. Being a smaller home the atmosphere is more homely than hospital, clean comfortable and hats off to all the brilliant staff who are helpful and friendly.

Mum has been at Romans nearly 5 years and is still happy and content there. Several weeks ago, Mum became seriously ill but did not want to go into hospital. The Staff/Carers looked after her beyond their remit, and had the patience of Saints! Mum has now made a significant recovery, and the staff continue to encourage and support her. They are so kind and friendly and treat her with respect and dignity.

Mum is mostly happy with the food and hopefully will enjoy participating in the quizzes again soon, as well as the Church visits and communion service. The regular residents' meeting, to discuss and iron out any issues and generate ideas from the residents, is a very positive aspect. We are so grateful that Mum feels she is in her 'home from home'.

Mum went into the Romans for respite care . She was afraid of being alone at night , she had lost the will for self care and was eating little . Her mental state was awful and she felt she had no reason to continue living .
Since her stay ( now almost 2 months ) she has regained some confidence, is eating well and has made friends . The difference is amazing.
I see happy staff and a clean environment, I see enriched living with visiting churches and activities .

She wants to stay now . Thank you

Everything is satisfactory, and the staff are very professional. My brother is well looked after and seems happy when I visit him. He could do with some help to get some shoes from the NHS, he only has slippers. Overall we are very satisfied with his care.

Mum is very happy here, The staff are all fantastic, friendly and helpful, always have time to say hello and for a quick chat. The home is well appointed and well maintained inside and out, always clean and tidy and fresh. There are a good range of events for the residents, family and friends are welcome. The food is very good, particularly their summer barbeques! I would not hesitate to recommend the Romans.

Our family have witnessed a huge improvement in mum's general wellbeing since she has been in the care of the wonderful team at Romans. She enjoys the quality of the food and participates in quizzes and other events. The staff know her well and are always helpful, fun and encouraging. She loves going out in the garden in the summer.

Most importantly for us, we know that mum is safe and cared for in the best place she could be.

Dad is settled and his needs ate taken care of. I feel happy knowing he is safe and content. He likes the company, entertainment, church services and food. His room is warm, bright and comfortable. The staff are helpful, caring and friendly. On the negative side, sometimes his clothes go missing in the laundry and he ends up with someone elses', but he doesnt seem to mind and sometimes we are late to hear news eg if he's had a fall or if he's given medication but this is not an issue to be raised. Overall we are happy.

Difficult to asses needs and care if not a relative, also the home has very religious leanings and some are non-believers and may not look to attend prayers etc. Otherwise pleasant staff and facilities.

The Romans is an excellent care home for residents to live in their later years. Everyone is treated so well by caring staff and management and the needs of each individual are considered well. My mother informs me that the food is excellent and there is always plenty of choice. My mother's own room, the lounge and dining room are all kept extremely clean. There is a lovely garden where the residents are able to sit when the sun is shining. On arrival when visiting my mother, I am always greeted with a smiling face from the staff member on duty. I am very my mother is now living at Romans.

The Romans is a welcoming, friendly care home. It always smells clean, staff are kind and helpful and remember my name. My auntie is well cared for and happy. She tells me the food is delicious. They are so attentive to the residents and visitors alike. I'm also brought a chair and offered tea, coffee, cake etc. They have BBQs, quizzes, coffee mornings and many activities for their residents and families.

I'm so impressed with Romans Care Home. My mother was taken in for respite care and she's still there three months later. The management and staff are kind, respectful and clearly happy at work. There are plenty of activities and the food is great! All needs are taken care of with the respect for each individual. It feels like home, not just a care facility. Mum wants to live there permanently!
