Fair Havens is the perfect size: small enough for the staff, residents and visitors to get to know each other very well, especially needs and preferences. There is excellent communication between staff and family, who are always kept informed. The staff are particularly proactive at involving medical services in a timely way and are quick to spot any changes in their residents. There is a lovely family atmosphere and visitors are always made welcome. I feel that my SIL is very well taken care of.

My father has been a resident at Fair Havens for fourteen months and is very happy living there. The care home is well managed, all the staff are professional and efficient but also very friendly too. The home is also very well maintained. Visitors to the home (both professional and family) are made to feel welcome. My father is well looked after, has a variety of spaces that he can use within the home, including a beautiful garden. We could not have chosen a better home for my father and highly recommend to other families.

Mum's positive progress since moving to Fair Havens is testament to the great care she has received. Mum is now experiencing a greater range of experiences that she has done for many years (especially food!!!). Brilliant!

I come as a visitor to see my bro-in-law and prefer to see him downstairs where all the activity is happening rather than sitting in his room. The staff are always accomodating when I phone to request he is up, and many thanks to them. He is content with his "home" I feel and long that may continue. Many thanks, R. Mount

Great day today, I was invited to the barbecue thanks to Andrea, Charmaine and the rest of the team they are just awesome, kind caring and just a great place in general to be especially for my grandad he loves it hear being this content is just absolutely amazing xx so thank you all for being the best of the best xx so much gratitude thank you xx

Having few more members of staff around would be better.

This care home goes above and beyond at all times to ensure the individual needs for all residents are met. The love and care residents get is amazing nothing is too much trouble from every member of staff. The home is so well led by the manager Andrea the staff are so caring informative and loving . Activities are great the grounds and gardens are perfect and the feeling at all times is one of love and care to have my mum reside herein her times of need are priceless

The Romans care home is such a wonderful place. The staff are wonderful & very friendly. The residents are well looked after & always look well cared for & happy. I love going in there on a Wednesday Morn to chat & do a quiz with them.

We required a respite care service. Following a prompt response to our enquiry, we visited the home. On our first visit we observed there was a training session going on for staff. Staff were friendly and welcoming, the environment was clean and homely. We visited the home with mum to enable her to meet the staff. We observed positive interactions between staff and residents. The chef was keen to clarify mum's specific diary needs. When she arrived for her stay, the room was clean and ready for her and she was offered lunch. There were fresh flowers and a personal card welcoming her. Several staff popped in to say hello. During her stay there, other friends and family visited and all reported Mum looked well cared for and happy. At the end of her stay, mum was full of praise for how caring the staff were and said they responded to everything she asked for, nothing was too much trouble and she had felt like she has a lovely holiday.

First time in respite, was very nervous, but staff made him feel very welcome and they calmed him. Having Parkinson's and Lewy dementia he can be very difficult.

My Nan has been a resident at Romans for a couple of months and I can honestly say that she has received incredible care and has come on leaps and bounds and seems much happier in herself. The staff and management are absolutely amazing I can't recommend romans enough

We recently had the hardest decision of placing our beautiful mum into a care home. Luckily for us as a family we found the Romans. We cant express how grateful we are with the exceptional and warm care she has received. The management + staff members are genuinely so caring. Seeing our mum so happy has made what was an incredibly difficult decision so much easier. She has become more engaged, happy, and comfortable. We can wholeheartedly recommend the Romans to anyone looking for a residential home.

This is a very friendly home with great staff. I would definitely recommend it to any person needing care. Thank you to everybody for making Linda's stay enjoyable.

Mum's admission to a care home was sudden following another fall at home and subsequently being advised that she needed someone around night and day. Mum said she would like to try Romans as a friend had been happy there for some time. She is now happily settled there and has become a permanent resident. Sarah and all the care team have been so welcoming and made the transition much easier for both mum and us her family. We have seen mum change from struggling to cope at home and too frightened to go into the garden alone to the more confident mum she used to be. She enjoys the company and has been on an outing. Being a smaller home the atmosphere is more homely than hospital, clean comfortable and hats off to all the brilliant staff who are helpful and friendly.

The staff are very caring, patient with Mum who has learning difficulties. The atmosphere is always a positive vibe. There are lots of fun activities for residents to enjoy. There is a great communal spirit amongst the residents + staff. My mum couldn't be in a better place :)

My sister has been at Fair Havens since June 2024. She has dementia and advanced arthritis of the spine, unfortuantely due to reduced mobility and blindness she is now bedridden. She needs much care to meet her current condition and I am thankful that I chose this care community as the care provided is exemplary. On my frequent visits I am impressed with all aspects of the support my sister receives. All the staff are friendly and show great concern for her wellbeing. My sister is treated with concern and with dignity and there is always a willingness to engage in conversation with her despite her dementia.

My sister has been a resident at Rosemary Mount for over 10 years. The standard of care has been consistently high, I feel I can always approach staff and management with any concerns I may have.

They also very kindly offered me the use of a spare room at the top of the building, as living a significant distance away, a daily commute would not have been possible for me. Again, the concern and care of all the staff was genuinely moving - can't thank them all enough.

I contacted Alexander House at very short notice and they could not have been more helpful, there was a room available and my mother moved in within hours of my call. She has stayed with them for two weeks and the staff and caregivers have been absolutely wonderful throughout. From supporting me emotionally when I arrived with my mother, to accommodating her visitors, understanding her occasional distress and confusion at being separated from her husband and managing her very limited mobility, nothing has been too much trouble. We are so grateful and will miss all the staff and residents very much!

Mum is mostly happy with the food and hopefully will enjoy participating in the quizzes again soon, as well as the Church visits and communion service. The regular residents' meeting, to discuss and iron out any issues and generate ideas from the residents, is a very positive aspect. We are so grateful that Mum feels she is in her 'home from home'.
