I have to say that level of care given, and the concern of the staff for the residents was genuinely impressive. My mother unfortunately spent her last days non-responsive, and still the caregivers showed a genuine concern and warmth in her care, and had obviously had taken the time to learn much about her and were full of warm and amusing anecdotes. It's never easy looking for and chosing residentail care homes, but I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Alexander House to any in that position.

They also very kindly offered me the use of a spare room at the top of the building, as living a significant distance away, a daily commute would not have been possible for me. Again, the concern and care of all the staff was genuinely moving - can't thank them all enough.

My mother suffers with Alzheimer's and my father is her main caregiver, they are both nearing their 90th birthdays and have been married for 67 years. When my father became ill and was admitted to hospital I was all at sea as to how to cope, how to give my mother the care she needed whilst allowing my father the time he desperately needed to recover.

I contacted Alexander House at very short notice and they could not have been more helpful, there was a room available and my mother moved in within hours of my call. She has stayed with them for two weeks and the staff and caregivers have been absolutely wonderful throughout. From supporting me emotionally when I arrived with my mother, to accommodating her visitors, understanding her occasional distress and confusion at being separated from her husband and managing her very limited mobility, nothing has been too much trouble. We are so grateful and will miss all the staff and residents very much!

Words cannot explain the care love and dedication that every resident in this care home is given it goes above and beyond and they care and love like every resident to the maximum

Not only that they also care and give love to residents family during tough times. The special bond I have made with the manager Andrea and the careers and activity coordinators over the last 2 years since my mum has been there has given me so much comfort and warmth in hard times.

No words can express how grateful I am to all staff at Alexander House xx

Lovely welcome from staff at this care home and enjoyed their interaction with our cousin Eileen who is a resident . The staff were so empathetic and warm. There was nothing that was to much trouble. They couldn't do enough for us. Very impressed.

My aunt has been living at this aged care home for nearly four years, and our family has been consistently impressed with the quality of care and the warmth of the staff. One of the standout aspects is their excellent staff retention - many of the same caring faces have been there since she moved in, which provides real comfort and continuity. The home itself is always clean, well maintained, and surrounded by lovely gardens that create a peaceful atmosphere. The staff are genuinely attentive, taking the time to know each resident and making sure their individual needs are met with compassion. There's also a great range of activities on offer, ensuring that everyone has opportunities to stay active, social, and engaged. It's clear that the team takes pride in creating not just a safe environment, but a true sense of community. We feel very lucky that my aunt calls this place home.

Upon arrival at Alexander House, we were greeted by giant sunflowers blooming in the front garden, and this felt symbolic of the sunny disposition of the staff team. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The decor bright and beautiful. Residents in the lounge/dining areas seemed contented, not least our Uncle, whom ate well and spoke positively of staff; their affection and social activities. Our uncle particularly enjoyed the recent horse riders visit; he loves horses! Staff seem trauma-informed and warmly responsive to residents individual needs ands wants; human rather than clinical. Thank you to the management and team for our lovely visit and for all you do to help our dear Uncle feel at home, as he continues to adapt to a challenging health condition, and the need for residential care, as well as managing grief; the loss of his dear wife; his childhood sweetheart and life partner. Our uncle looked well; all things considered. We look forward to returning! All good wishes.

The staff at Alexander House always go the extra mile to help our parent.
The surroundings are clean and spacious, and the garden is also pleasant and private.
The family note that the care Alexander House take with medical issues is very professional.

All in all, we're very happy that our parent is cared for - and that they have a happy community around them.

My mother is so calm and happy in Alexander House. She loves the caring staff, and eats up all the food with enthusiasm. They take very good care of her and keep me totally up-to-date with her progress and her well-being. There is a beautiful garden that she can sit in when the weather is good . I am so glad I chose Alexander House.

My friend entered Alexander House in January 2023. Through to Easter 2024 a series of management changes took place which, at times, resulted in a lack of focus on organisation. Since Easter 2024 a new management team has been in place resulting in a marked improvement in all aspects of provision.

Throughout my friend's residence his everyday carers have been consistently kind and thoughtful. I find them well informed about his care and health needs. They are professional. The Home is welcoming to visitors. I am received warmly and cheerfully by name. The food provided is very good and well prepared. It conforms to my friend's dietary needs and his preferences. My friend is settled in one of the larger rooms which enjoys a pleasant aspect. The room is comfortable and well maintained. My friend is happy residing in the Home. This is confirmed when I ask him and in the way he responds to his carers.

My mother has been at Alexander House for 2.5 years, she is happy to be there. By choice, she does not join in many activities but appreciates being asked. Each day the cook comes to have a chat, the carers are kind and made a big effort to help her celebrate her 100th birthday earlier in the year.

As usual, Alexander House invited family and friends to their Christmas party (this was my 10th party, my mother entered Alexander House in May 2014 when she was 89 years old). It was another fabulous party, with a cabaret singer who was first class. The food was varied and delicious, the chef really knows her business. The carers were their usual delightful selves and one danced with a resident. This was delightful to watch and somewhat unexpected because I didn't think any of the residents were that mobile! (My mother is now 99 and is the third oldest resident). The crucial point for those reading these reviews is that my mother loves it at Alexander House.

My mother has recently become a resident at this excellent facility. The accommodation is of an extremely high standard. The facilities are modern and of a high specification which made my mother extremely comfortable. Her personal highlights are the catering. The menu on offer is extensive and healthy. The day trips and other activities are excellently planned and thought out. The highly trained have made a potentially difficult situation, especially easy. They treat my mother with dignity and compassion at all times, as well as maintaining a very high standard of care. Would highly recommend it.

We are so grateful for the care that my aunt received at Alexander House Residential Care Home Wimbledon. The home had been recommended to me by a friend whose Mum has lived there for a few years and I am so glad she did. My aunt needed end-of-life care and was only with Alexander House Residential Care Home Wimbledon for a few weeks. The staff treated my aunt with such kindness and respect. We visited most days and everyone was always very welcoming of us too, which was much appreciated. It's a very pleasant place, full of light and has a lovely garden. My aunt was not able to join other residents for her meals or the activities and spent her time resting in her room but she was safe and she was cared for. We shall always be grateful to one member of staff and the team for everything they did for my aunt. Thank you all.

Sadly my mum-in-law's needs were more suited to a nursing home but one member of staff, in particular, and all, did their best to make her time there as comfortable as possible. Our family send thanks for their kindness during her brief stay. Highly recommended.
