I had been my mums main carer for 15 months and could no longer do it. I was very worried about her going into a home. She has been in Fair Havens for 10 months now and I needn't have worried. Everyone is very caring, nothing is too much trouble. As soon as you walk in you are warmly welcomed and it
has a really peaceful and friendly atmosphere. I can't thank all the staff and management enough for looking after my mum. I can now be her daughter again and not her carer. Thank you.

My sister has been at Fair Havens for four weeks. I was greatly concerned that she would not settle after having received care at home for so long. I had chosen this care home as it seemed to provide the kind of care that she needed.
She was made to feel at home immediately on arrival. On my visits,
I have found that she is extremely happy, and all the staff are kind and caring. She has joined in activities and is receiving the stimulus, which was lacking at home.
It is early days yet, but the first indications are that Fair Havens is exceeding all I hoped for my expectations.
My thanks to all the staff.

The home provides a safe, caring environment for my mother. She is treated with dignity, thoughtfulness and humour, all of which she, and we, are most appreciative of. Despite their heavy workload, the staff always seem to have time to chat and engage with her. They are aware of her interests and chat
about them. When required, they have dealt with her medical needs with professionalism and understanding, allaying her fears and keeping us informed. There is always a happy and relaxed atmosphere whenever we regularly visit.

While at the home, mum has received very professional care, both for her physical and mental well-being. Staff are very friendly and have established positive relationships with mum and all of our family. They have supported mum and us with any decisions we have had to make, including those with outside
agencies. They regularly organise events to celebrate birthdays etc, where we are all invited. A very friendly and welcoming home. We would and have recommended the home. It is the second time we have had a family member at the home.

Management and staff are very efficient, kind, caring and patient. All prepared to listen, a great understanding of all people's needs and care they need. The home is a cosy, comfortable, very homely and calm atmosphere. Extremely clean and always very welcoming to families. All staff work well together

Mum arrived at Fairhavens from hospital having spent two months there. She was made to feel welcome by the management and care staff and has settled in quickly. We, as her family, know that she is safe and well cared for. All the staff are helpful, approachable and friendly towards mum and us as visitors.

Since my mother-in-law entered care at Fairhaven the staff have been excellent. She has Alzheimer’s and although she showed some challenging behaviour in the initial days they have worked very hard to settle her. Nothing was too much trouble and the manager has been very patient with us as well. We
looked at several places for her but the manager sold us on Fairhaven by virtue of her enthusiasm and caring nature. We knew we had made the right decision after just a few weeks.

My mother spent two months in hospital following a fall which resulted in a broken arm. She now has limited functions she can carry out. It was finally agreed that she would go to Fair Havens Care Community. She had always had a fear of going into care but she is now so happy there and like a new person.
The staff are so caring and attentive.

Mum was unwell and without hesitation, an ambulance was called, after a week in hospital mum returned to the home and was happy to be back where she belongs, with her home family. I would not be able to give her the time and support she receives from all at Fair Havens, Winchester Road, Southampton.

My dad moved into the home a month ago and has settled well after a few initial days of disorientation. The staff helped get him settled and were really kind and understanding with him. The staff are patient and caring with the residents and very helpful and friendly when I visit. The residents all
seem happy and my dad is well looked after, clean and very content I highly recommend this home and feel so relieved he is happy and safe.

Mum came to Fair Haven after a fall, we have found it to be such a happy caring place that we have made her stay permanent. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, they look after mum so well and are always available when she needs them. We are also made very welcome when we visit. All in all this
is a very happy home and we are happy mum lives here.

I cannot speak highly enough of Fair Havens Christian Home. The staff are very caring, friendly and helpful, and were professional in transitioning Mum into what was, to her, a new and strange environment. Fair Havens is safe and clean. The catering is of a high standard. Mum's room is spotlessly clean
with a lovely view over the beautiful garden. Mum has settled really well and is well cared for. I feel very fortunate to have found Fair Havens and would highly recommend it.

Everyone has been very friendly and helpful. It didn't take me long to feel at home with all my own things around me. I feel very safe and well looked after. My father has been a resident here since March 2021 and we have been extremely impressed with the level of care he has received. The staff are all kind and patient, taking time to learn and accommodate his little eccentricities where they can. Leaving the security of your home at an advanced age is
daunting enough, add to that the uncertainty of arriving during the covid pandemic, it has been reassuring to know that he is now safe and settled. We would have no reservations in recommending Fair Havens Christian Home as a home for your loved one.

Started working with Keychange as Head of Care in 2014, she became a Registered Manager in 2016 and since then she is leading the team of Fair Havens.

Helen O'Halloran

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2013

I started working at Fair Havens as the main cook in 2013, before becoming kitchen manager. I was then approached to become the deputy manager which I started in 2017! I have various qualifications including GCSEs, NAMCW in Child Care, an NVQ in Food Preparation and Cooking and an NVQ Level 3 in Adult Social Care.


I am able to work in any section of the home, and really enjoy spending time with our residents. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my two daughters, and my husband and going out to dinner, having family holidays and reading.
