I have found the staff, from management, care staff and housekeepers to be friendly, professional and helpful and have been caring for my Mother very well for the past year. Lately, there does seem to be quite a turnover of staff though unfortunately. The home itself is clean and fresh smelling and has very much a homely feel. Mum's room is bright and comfortable and looks out on a patio area where she can have some potted plants with the garden beyond which Mum loves to look at from her window and sit outside when it is warm enough.

I would like to note that my experience visiting people at Fair Havens on a weekly basis is fantastic! From the general manager to the carers/cleaners, the atmosphere and care towards the residents is evident.
It's so refreshing to see the staff going above and beyond their job, taking time to talk and engage with the residents.

Care homes can many times get a bad rap, so I'm more than happy to share my thoughts about Fair Havens.

My mum has been a resident here for six months now. She settled in quite well from the start, all the staff are very good and helpful to both residents and families. They seem to have quite a few activities through the week for the residents, which is good as it keeps their minds active.

Since becoming a resident here about six months ago, our Mum has been very happy. This is such a nice place for the family to come and visit her. We are always made welcome by all the friendly staff. It gives us all peace of mind to know she is being so well cared for.

Fair Havens is excellent. It is caring, well run and responsive to individual needs. Placing my mum in a care setting was a very difficult decision for us as a family and they definitely supported us to make the right decision. I can't recommend them highly enough. They genuinely care about my mum.

Overall Experience

Our mother suffers from dementia and has been a resident at Fair Havens since the end of 2014. Recently she had an exceptionally high temperature and was carefully monitored by the staff before being hospitalised with what transpired to be a chest infection. She returned to Fair Havens a couple of days later, where she continued to take a course of antibiotics. The important thing was that she was well cared for by the team leader and staff at Fair Havens on the first day and then on her subsequent return to familiar surroundings. Without this wonderful care and attention recovery could have been so different - as it is, she has come through the initial drowsiness of taking the medication to getting back to her old self. We couldn’t ask for more, she lives in such a supportive, caring and safe environment.

My Mum has been a resident of Fair Havens since May 2014.
We knew of Fair Havens as a family friend is a long-standing resident of the home.
We liked the fact that the home has never smelt as you might imagine an old people's home to smell, and we were able to pop in unannounced to visit at any time day or night (trying to avoid mealtimes).
The previous manager made a lovely job of redecorating the building, making it feel like a home away from home.
Our Mum's room is well decorated, light, airy and well maintained.
The family can personalise their relative's room.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming, we get offered tea and cake whenever we visit.
The new management team are making their mark in the home and so far are making a grand job.
They have introduced a menu of activities during the week and often the residents enjoy a Saturday matinee DVD.

There is a varied menu on offer, with the residents being consulted on what they would like to have on the menu.

My family is delighted to have found Fair Havens Christian Home as a home for my mother. I visit frequently and find everyone friendly and welcoming. My mother suffers from dementia and staff have a very good understanding of how to support her. This is due to the excellent management and leadership which ensures a positive atmosphere with staff who are well trained, caring and respectful to residents. There is a 'can do' working culture. It is a huge relief to know that we have placed mum in such a safe caring environment where we know she is happy.

My mum has been in Fair Havens with dementia and mobility problems for nearly two years now. I cannot fault the care that she receives from the staff and she always talks about how wonderful they are, calling them 'her family'. She has a lovely room which is always kept clean and tidy. The food is fantastic and always freshly cooked with a good choice of mains and desserts which mum thoroughly enjoys.

Although it is difficult for Mum to sometimes accept her problems, the staff there are always cheerful and kind to her with a good sense of humour which helps her immensely. The patience and understanding they constantly demonstrate amazes me and it gives me peace of mind to know that she is so well cared for.

The overwhelming atmosphere of Fair Havens is of a kind, caring family where everyone matters and is treated with dignity and respect no matter what their situation. I can't praise the staff highly enough for going over and above in their love and care.

My mum has only been in Fair Havens for a few months but I have been very impressed with the care that she has received during this time. The carers seem to be never-endingly cheerful and are very kind and caring to the residents. My mum's health has improved and the anxiety that she was suffering before she moved in has completely disappeared. She feels very safe and secure in the home.

Fair Havens is a friendly caring home to residents and their families. My mother has spent a short time with them. They made her feel welcome and one of their family, which I felt was lovely. The staff go over and beyond to make sure everything is to the residents liking. As a care home I would recommend them to anybody that was looking for a place for their parents. It is fantastic.
