I have nothing but compliments; my mum is well looked after and happy. They have been on top of my mum's dementia and worked very hard to get her to a manageable and comfortable stage. The manager has gone above and beyond to ensure my mum secured a place here.
The staff are amazing are so caring with the patience required for residents with these conditions.

I genuinely have no concerns or bad comments to give and love the atmosphere when I come to visit.

Very pleased with Summerley. The staff are always very caring and have made my mother as comfortable as possible during the last few years. Cannot fault them. The building is always kept clean and well maintained. It is comforting to know my mother is in good hands.

My family want to thank Summerley care home from the bottom of our hearts for their absolute unconditional care for Dad during his stay with them the last few months. We had to make the hard decision to have Dad taken into care due to Alzheimer's and after several falls at home and a spell in hospital. Mum was so worried about someone else looking after him and attending to his needs. Once we decided on Summerley, the manager reassured us even before Dad had arrived that he would be very welcome there whatever the challenges. We were overwhelmed with the kindness and the care of all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were just as caring towards Mum and us, always making sure that on our visits we had tea and biscuits, and never once were they too busy to talk to us about Dad and how he was doing. Dad was only there for 7-weeks, but right to the very end, they showed how much he mattered. We would not hesitate to recommend this care home to others.

During the current Covid-19 outbreak the management and staff have been outstanding. Under normal circumstances, the staff are caring and I have no concerns about the care my dad receives. Dad has always said how happy he is and has never given me any indication of any problem or concerns he has.

All through the Covid-19 crisis, Summerley care home has put the caring, comfort and protection of the residents first, which they do at all times. The staff are excellent at informing of any needs my mother may have.

I can relax as I know my mother is in a safe and loving environment.

My mother has been living at Summerley care home for the past two years and has received excellent care and attention. The staff are friendly, efficient and go about their day with a smile, a joke, and real affection for the people in their care. We couldn't have asked for a better environment for mum and are deeply grateful to the staff for all they do for her.

In the summer it was clear that Mum who has Alzheimer’s was not coping at home and 3 carer visits per day were only upsetting her and causing her anxiety - she needed constant care and stability. I contacted Summerley as my Granny, Great Aunt and Uncle had all had excellent care there and I hoped it would be familiar to Mum. My sister and I couldn’t have wished for a better outcome as Mum was assessed and accepted quickly and with ease and her quality of care can be reflected in the fact she settled within days and is the happiest we have seen her in years. A big thank you to all the staff and carers who make the home so special.

My mother has now been at Summerley for over two years. Her care needs are met with dignity and compassion. There is good communication from the excellent care staff, who I could not fault.
Mum's ongoing dementia is quite challenging, but the staff are very professional in dealing with her demands. The home is very comfortable and is very well situated near the promenade.

I am very happy with all aspects of Mum's care and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Summerley.

In March 2019, we had to make the hardest decision of our lives, to move our dad into a care home. We visited Summerley and were very impressed with what they had to offer. He, unfortunately, passed away in July but the care he received from the staff at Summerley meant that his final months were very comfortable and full of care. We cannot speak highly enough of all the staff. It made it so much easier for us to leave him after a visit, knowing he was so well looked after. The staff always had a smile on their faces and were unfailingly kind and caring of our dad.

In the final weeks, they stepped up even more. They were so supportive and empathetic to the needs of both our dad and the family, every time we came to visit. I would not hesitate to recommend Summerley to anyone faced with this decision.

My mother-in-law is so happy at Summerley. It was a massive decision to make putting her into a care home but everyone at Summerley made the transition so easy.

All members of staff are really caring. They look after the residents with respect and dignity. They make everyone feel they are at home, instead of being in a care home. It is one big happy family.

It was the hardest decision to make putting my mum into the care of someone else. We had struggled for two years and the time had come. We need not have worried and I cannot speak highly enough of the home, staff and management. Mum loves living here the food is great the activities fun and the care outstanding. A truly incredible and inspirational home.

Summerley is an exceptional care home. The informal atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff incredibly caring and cheerful. Plenty of hugs, lots of laughter and very competent staff with some of the best carers I have ever come across. There is nobody hiding in the office here. The whole team are really involved with the residents' care and getting on with anything that needs doing but the 'phone is always answered and you're never left on the doorstep waiting to get in. Somehow, there is always time for a cup of tea (and often cake) for visitors too. I'm told that the standard of meals is excellent. The cake is certainly jolly good!

Summerley also has the advantage of being a short walk from the seafront, which makes for a very pleasant and easy wheelchair ride through quiet residential streets and along the prom.

All in all a very refreshing change from most care homes I have seen.

This is a care home in the truest sense of the word - from the very start we felt that both my dad and we were being cared for. Nothing was too much trouble and they eased my Dad's last days, giving us the space to sit with Mum quietly, but always on hand if we needed anything and constantly providing tea and cake!

The care is very good and the staff very good with residents and are always kind and helpful when we visit. The food is varied and well served. We visit at the weekend but there does not seem to be any activities then. A few magazines could be made available for the more active residents.

My mother-in-law is not the easiest person to get on with, especially now she has dementia. She is prone to change her mind regularly, shout and swear at staff and has been known to throw things about. The staff deal with her in a very kind and humane way - respecting her as a person at all times.
