My uncle was admitted to Glenholme Vera James House in late 2022. Due to circumstances, he was admitted in a frail condition and very unsure of himself. The past few months have seen such a positive change in my uncle and all the staff have played a part in that. The team is led by an excellent manager, supported by his deputy, their positive and caring attitude impacts on residents, carers and relatives alike. I have nothing but praise for Glenholme Vera James House.
My mother had a few problems she was not happy with, but once the management were made aware, these were dealt with in a prompt and sensitive way and brought to a mutually satisfactory conclusion. Very happy.
Great outcome Annette. I'm glad we were able to support your Mum. Thank you very much for your time and support.
My mother is a self-funding stroke resident who is severely disabled by has excellent capability mentally. She is well looked after generally and the staff (permanent staff) treat her with dignity. The staff and management have acted excellently throughout these very difficult times (COVID19) and have made great efforts in keeping residents safe but giving us the ability to have visits with Mother who is 94. I know she does appreciate them although she doesn't always show it. Thank you.
Great to hear from you, Alison. Many thanks for your supportive comments. We will continue to do our best.
We have always found the staff very friendly and helpful.
Hi Rae, Many thanks for your great comment. We will continue to support our residents and relatives in the best possible way.
Our mum became a resident on March 2nd after being in hospital for nearly a month. She came in as a very shy person and needed building up after not eating, she has improved very much so in the short time she has been in the care home and we are so pleased with her progress. We can only thank all the staff for all their help, everybody is so friendly.
With Kind Regards
Andrew
Management and staff are always prepared to help with any queries and often go out of their way to make life easier for the resident. The Covid preparation and operation were also very well thought out and put into practice to minimise infection at the same time. They have allowed visitors, wherever possible.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Vera James House team will continue to support our residents in the best possible way. Safety of our Residents is our priority in this difficult time.
My mum moved into Vera James House in November 2020. This was the family's first experience of a care home. We were shown around the home before Mum moved in and had a very positive experience. Staff are very informative and reassuring. My mum has settled in very well and has changed for the better in everything. She is eating properly and has a selection of healthy meals every day. She has a good social interaction with residents and staff and has never looked so well. She always says she is happy and feels safe. Staff are very friendly and keep family informed of progress. My mum now has a good quality of life and the family are so glad that she lives there and is very happy.
Thank you for your kind words. Our residents are like our family here at Vera James House, it is a pleasure to be part of their lives.
My Mother moved from London to Very James June 2017. She is very happy and her general health has improved. We always receive a warm welcome when visiting and nothing is too much to ask when we need to speak to a member of staff. We couldn't have asked for a better home for our Mum to stay in. She is looking forward to her trips out soon.
The home is very relaxed in that the residents can feel like they are in their own home. Visitors can visit at any time and are always made to feel welcome even if they are extremely busy, there is always somebody able to help with any queries you may have. My Mother is very happy there, and is very well cared for by the staff. I will be recommending Vera James to anybody who is looking for a care home for their loved one.
