Since my mother was moved to The Coach Hosue, she has improved in herself and seems a lot more comfortable and settled, and I am happy with the care she is receiving.
Reply from Sunita Nagpal, Director at The Coach HouseThanks for the positive feedback. It is encouraging for staff to know that they are doing the best for her, and it is good to see her settled as well.

Mum had very severe dementia when she arrived at The Coach House. Throughout her stay, I was truly amazed at the compassion and thoughtfulness of the staff. An organisation can be judged by the attitude of the staff and this place ranks exemplary. I was frankly in awe of the kindness and patience even
when Mum was being a touch awkward. (Very) To be honest no one wants their relative to need a place like this but thank goodness they are here and so very good. It meant so much to know Mum was safe and cared for. Mum died very peacefully at the Coach House. They phoned me to say she was going and I was able to be there to see her go. Then, as I had learned to expect, they were as kind and thoughtful towards me as they had been towards Mum. I will always remember the positive way they approached her final months. Thanks to all the Staff.

A very well run care home by all members of the staff. It is clean and welcoming. Residents seem to be well cared for and content. I appreciate being able to visit regularly and am always made to feel welcome. The staff respond to any problems professionally and are always available to talk through
any problems that may have occurred and I am always kept up to date with his medical needs and progress.

I would like to start by saying that I find all the office staff very, very helpful and all other staff too. Everyone is very friendly and very caring. I know that my wide is in safe hands. I couldn't fault the home at all, and when my turn comes to go into care, if I found a place half as good, I would
be truly happy and very lucky indeed! Hope my turn is a long way off!
I just want to add I would recommend The Coach House to everybody!

The location of the home was really important to us as a family, to be able to visit our loved one on a regular basis. The staff, especially towards the end of our family member's time at the home, were very compassionate and caring. We were always made to feel welcome when visiting and respected our
privacy at all times.

As soon as you enter The Coach House residential home you are welcomed by staff members who are very polite and helpful. I called to visit my sister who was admitted for care. Even though I was a visitor they make me most welcome, several staff members came and talked to me about progress/activities/food
and drink. I would fully recommend The Coach House to anyone, my sister has everything at The Coach House for her caring needs.

My brother has been a long term resident at The Coach House. The staff know him well, he is treated with kindness and understanding. They are ALL very professional yet make time to communicate and listen to his comments. It is reassuring to know the staff do care about his wellbeing and encourage him
to keep persevering with his walking all being his mobility is very limited. He likes to have attention and they also are warm, friendly and will have a joke with him.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.540)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.540) out of 10 for The Coach House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.665 for The Coach House is calculated as follows: ( (123 Excellents x 5) + (42 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 173 Ratings = 4.665
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Coach House is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 61 registered maximum number of service users is 12.2, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
