Right from the start, my family and I have been made to feel welcome and respected. Everyone is sensitive to my father's needs and accommodated him extremely well. He recently commented that the food was so good and the staff are always there for him. I am always met by friendly faces and anyone of
the staff can tell me how he is getting on. Surprisingly, he is getting more involved with daily activities on offer, something he was reluctant to do before.
The home is clearly very well managed and runs very smoothly. I am always impressed with how staff are so highly visible and attentive to residents.
The atmosphere is positively lovely and genuinely has a 'family feel' about it; residents and visitors can eat and play together, which is wonderful. Little touches like snacks and drinks being freely available for residents, their family, friends, visiting Health Workers and that my father can enjoy a little nightcap like he used to, makes this a very special place indeed.

Mum has been in the home about eight months and I am very happy with the service and care they are providing. Although Mum was not keen at all to move into a care home, she has said nothing but positive things about the home, the people, facilities, food and cleanliness. I live in Canada and the staff
have engaged in personal conversations with me which really helped. They have ensured Mum is in her room at an agreed time so that she is there to receive a video call from me. This is fantastic as it allows Mum to have a video chat with us, including my son, her only grandchild. (For anyone interested, we find the WIFI service very good for these video chats). They have also helped Mum with the technical side of using the video conferencing which is beyond helpful! I recently came over to the UK and visited Mum. I was very impressed with all the facilities, the staff and my mum's wellbeing. They reminded Mum about my arrival and made sure she was ready for our planned activities.

My mother was assessed due to her Alzheimer’s diagnosis and then had a two week trial period at the care home. Managers and staff really helped settle Mum in and responded positively to all my constant questions! Visiting family members were all made to feel welcome. Moving into a care home is a difficult
decision, but I feel we’ve been able to make it Mum’s new home quite quickly. A very big thank you to everyone at the care home.

My mum has been a resident since May, before this she lived alone, since she has been in the home she now enjoys the company of others and joins in with the activities each day and we know she is being well cared for and is happy in her new environment. I would recommend this home.

King's Lynn Residential Home is a wonderful home, always clean, and well maintained, the furniture is in excellent condition and the food is to a very high standard and good choices to cover all resident's needs.
Themed parties and birthdays are catered for with some lovely food, cakes and decorations.
The staff always look well dressed in their uniforms, are very attentive and nothing is too much for them, they are always ready to go that extra mile, organising all manner of games bingo, dominoes cards, and keep fit exercises, musical/singing entertainment, pub lunches, gardening groups, theatre visits and much more to keep the residents entertained and active both mentally and physically.
Overall, this is a very well-run residential home and I only have praise for the management, carers, catering team and home maintenance team.

Sadly my mother contracted covid at the end of March 2020 whilst in Kings Lynn Residential Centre and this gave her a major stroke. She went from being a very independent, fit lady albeit with dementia, to someone who has to have everything done for her and has pain from her paralysed right arm and
leg. I know that despite her sweet temperament she often gets angry with her carers. I hold the carers at Kings Lynn Residental Care in awe that they continue to always be so kind and caring to her in what is a physically and mentally demanding job.

I have realised that a care home is really about the staff and their cheerfulness, kindness and hard work never fail to astound me. They also have to have an understanding of her type of dementia and what she believes and this must be tricky. I am very grateful to them. I can thoroughly recommend KLRC. I have been humbled by the warmth, gentleness and forbearance of the staff. Thank you.

When your mother needs to move into a care home, it will always be difficult. My mother has recently experienced such a move into the King's Lynn Residential Care Home and the whole experience could not have been more reassuring. The manager has a practical empathy that made everything so much easier.
She carefully explained the process for moving Mum in and there were no unwelcome surprises. All the staff I have met have been wonderful and caring, including the maintenance man, and interact well with my mother. My mother, although she would prefer to be able to live in her own home, no longer possible, constantly tells us that the place is clean, the food is good and plentiful and the staff very nice. Activities are arranged every afternoon, meaning that Mum has far more stimulation than she was getting living on her own. In her very short time so far, she is already looking better and is more alert.

After ongoing medical issues with our mother, we contacted the home, arranged a viewing and met some of the staff. It was such a positive experience, all staff were friendly and supportive.
The home itself is very comfortable and clean and we have been impressed with the standard of both meals and
care. Entertainment is organised on a daily basis and we were amused to find our mother playing bingo and enjoying the company. Although initially, we had only booked respite care, there is no doubt that we will be hoping she can stay permanently, as it is such a professionally run establishment.

King's Lynn Residential Home is excellent. The premises are always clean and the staff caring and kind. Lots of little extra touches contribute to making the home feel homely and welcoming and it's lovely to have a quiet room where relatives can be with their loved ones in a quiet and peaceful environment.
I
have arrived unannounced and am reassured that my relative is well-cared for at all times. Entertainment is good and varied and the food seems to be of a high standard with all special needs catered for.
I have never felt nervous or afraid that my relative will not be cared for in a kindly, compassionate and dignified way.
Thank you.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The dining area is nice and encouraged to leave their rooms to dine, also encouraged to participate in social activities too. Well-organised home with caring staff. I was very impressed with the checks on arrival, the temperature check and the logging out when
you leave. All makes for good security. Food is plentiful and well-balanced for residents with good appetites. Most satisfactory.

Staff always seem friendly and willing to help. They always seem friendly towards my mother. I'm always kept well informed if my mother has any health issues and the home are good at arranging transport for my mother's hospital appointments. I have not rated the activities because I don't know how good
they are but can confirm they are always being arranged with is good. I don't have a comparison to determine if it's good value for money. Overall I feel that my mother is being well looked after and I have complete confidence in the staff and management.

My dads recently moved in and it has been amazing. Food is of a high standard, which he enjoys. His room is small with limited storage but more than adequate. Staff are usually very attentive and helpful and are friendly. Today however took ten minutes to be let in which was frustrating. His coffee
machine (£200) is still missing which is not ideal.

My mum moved into this home in March. She has settled in so well and says she really feels at home there. She has made a lot of friends and it feels like a little community. The staff are really friendly and helpful and nothing is ever too much trouble. All in all, I can't praise this home enough. It
is so nice to know that if I'm away or can't get to see mum for some reason I know she is being well looked after and happy.

I moved both of my parents into the care home in November. Dad had been in another care home but was unhappy there, and Mum had been at their house alone. I wanted them to be together. They are both very happy now, and I can see the care and attention they are receiving is a 5-star plus. Their rooms
are bright, warm and comfortable, and we count ourselves lucky to have found such a wonderful place for them.

I am very pleased that my mother seems to have settled well and is happy at the home. The staff are always very pleasant to my mother and the manager is always helpful and keen to sort any worry out. Because of Mum's eyesight problems, it makes it difficult for her to participate in all activities,
but the staff help her to join in as much as possible. She likes the musical entertainment. I like the fact it is homely.

Such a lovely care home. Dad has only been in two weeks and is looking so much better. Staff are both caring and friendly and try to include all residents in daily activities. Dad is eating well again - the food is very good with lots of choice. It really does feel homely and we are able to visit and
have a meal with Dad whenever we want to. Everyone works so hard to keep the residents happy and healthy. Can't rate the home highly enough.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.857)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.857) out of 10 for Kings Lynn Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.857 for Kings Lynn Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (207 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 237 Ratings = 4.857
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kings Lynn Residential Home is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 registered maximum number of service users is 9.4, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
