This is a lovely care home with excellent standards of care. The owner/manager is very helpful and easy to talk to and is most accommodating on extra requests. Visiting is always easy and the home cooked food looks most scrummy. It is basic but always clean and the residents always look well cared for and happy! Would highly recommend!

When we arrived we were warmly welcomed. The house itself was clean and tidy with lots of flowers and plants along corridors and rooms. My friend was relaxed and cheerful and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Having visited many care homes, this was refreshing. It really struck me as a home, somewhere I could be happy myself. Clean and comfortable with a happy, relaxed environment.

All residents I met were very friendly and conversational. The staff too were very friendly and displayed a good rapport with the residents. I can only comment on what was observed during my visit but I must confirm, I was very impressed.

This is a residential home which my mum-in-law calls home and that’s a great comfort to us. The staff are kind, caring, supportive and friendly. The house is always warm and comfortable. When we visit around meal times we are always impressed by the variety and quality of the food on offer.

My 90-year-old sister was admitted to Lyles House following three falls within 24 hours in May 2017.

She had a fear of care homes, but this was immediately corrected as she realised the standard of care she was receiving at Lyles House.

She has now been there for 5 months. She's delighted with the care and attention she is receiving and has settled in well. The management and staff are fully attentive to her needs, as she realises that she is now unable to cope without 24/7 help.

By choice, she has all her meals served in her room and is very satisfied with the catering arrangements, and menus.

You can sense a 'happy environment' as you enter the building, and I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anybody who has needs.

My sister has been at Lyles house for nearly two years now and has always been treated with respect and understanding. I believe the activities held are good for the people that wish to take part. My sister does not.
The owner is usually present, which you do not get in many establishments. She is a very approachable and likeable person and in view of the recent inspection has acted on the points raised as soon as practicable.

The staff are friendly and efficient.

My Mother had to go into a home as she was no longer able to look after herself. We were recommended Lyles house and have not been disappointed. The management and staff are very friendly and also very good at looking after the residents. Mum did not want to go into a home but as I have Parkinson's I am unable to look after her myself. The staff made her feel so at home, that after only 2 or 3 days she loved being there, and said she wished she had gone in sooner. She is always telling us how well the girls look after her. Which gives us peace of mind to know she is being looked after well.

My mother has been living at Lyles House since October 2016. When she arrived she was quite poorly, both physically and mentally, as our Father had passed away and she had fallen and broken her pelvis.

The staff at Lyles House have looked after my mum in a caring and respectful way at all times. They are attentive, caring and professional. I always enjoy visiting and the home is always clean and tidy. The difference in my mother is striking. She is so much brighter and always clean and well presented. The staff are friendly and welcoming, always happy to chat and make you a cup of tea if time allows. My father was in a different care home before he passed away and we viewed several other homes before deciding on Lyles House for my mother. We are very pleased with our choice and have no hesitation in recommending the home to others.

My mother was at Lyles House for just over a year until she passed away at the end of the year. We spent a long time deciding on a care home for mum and always liked the look of the property as we drove past. It was the best choice we could have made because the homely feel from the outside carries through seamlessly to the inside. The staff are lovely and care for all the residents with compassion and patience. My mum felt the cold, even in a warm room, so was always dressed warm and cosy. She was happy to be so well looked after. Lyles House is spotlessly clean and always smells fresh, it is a very warm comfortable environment that is very well run and I have no regrets that my mum spent the last year of her life there and I thank everyone for making that possible.

Lyles House is a lovely, very welcoming care home. All the staff do such a wonderful job caring for their residents. It was a very difficult time for my Mum and our family as her health deteriorated but knowing Mum was being well looked after helped make it a little easier to bear.

I have nothing but admiration for all their hard work and cannot thank them enough for looking after Mum so well.

In our opinion, one of the best measures for a Care Home is whether the resident is happy there. Our Mum/Mother-in-law is very happy there and we were delighted when she first told us she was very happy to be "coming home" (to Lyles House) after being taken out to lunch. She genuinely enjoys Lyles House and she gets very good care there including having her hair done, nails done, supervised baths and visits by the doctor etc. In the summer residents can sit in the garden and at other times there are lounges for them to use instead of their rooms. The management occasionally takes capable residents out for lunch to give them a change of scenery. We have peace of mind that she is being looked after properly and her needs properly managed.

Lyles House is a special place and I cannot speak highly enough of the service they provide for my nan. It does not feel like visiting a care home but more like a big family. All of the staff are not only professional who put the welfare, care and safety of the residents at the forefront of their job, but they also take the time to create a comfortable and homely environment which is a rare thing to find in a care home!

My mum spent the last five months of her life at Lyles House. She was very well cared for and all staff and management were always polite and kind to her. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lyles House. All of mums needs, right up to her last few days were met. The staff made special efforts for my sisters "special "birthday to enable mum to be part of that celebration.

On every occasion when I have visited Lyles House, I have found the staff very friendly and welcoming. My friend is settled and well looked after, her room is always clean and warm and she is encouraged to join others in the lounge where she looks at daily newspapers and socialises. She is treated as a valued individual and I would recommend Lyles House to everyone.

My Mother has been in Lyles House for 3 years and in that time her Dementia and ability to do anything by her herself has really deteriorated but the Staff have been excellent. Nothing is too much trouble. The commitment by everyone to make the residents comfortable is second to none. If Mum is not well, the management will always ring or make sure they come and speak to me. Whenever I visit my Mother which is at least twice a week and not always on the same day or time, she is always very well dressed and immaculately clean and her hair which she is very fussy about is always neat and tidy. The home is kept very clean and fresh and we are always made very welcome when visiting.
