I have nothing but praise for Chilton Court. My parents needed to move unexpectedly from their own home earlier in the year, and whilst this has been a difficult transition for them to come to terms with, Vicky and her staff have gone out of their way to make everything as comfortable, supportive and
welcoming as possible. Vicky has also been super helpful to us too as we navigate this new 'normal'. The independent accommodation is wonderful - giving my parents their own space and independence, whilst having everything they could need or want on hand. Highly recommended.

My mother is currently in one of the assisted living accommodations. This gives her the freedom of her own independent home surroundings together with the safety net of having the staff call in several times a day to make sure that she is OK.
All the staff are kind, considerate and supportive and treat
all the residents with respect. To my mother they are a second family.

My father was previously cared for here, and my mother now takes advantage of the fantastic independent but assisted living accommodation. All the freedom of her own home, but with support when required. The accommodation & more is clean, bright, and welcoming. The food is great. The staff are truly
exceptional, kind, caring & supportive to residents/relatives. We are very lucky to have found Chilton Court.

This care home provides exceptional care. The staff are so warm and friendly to the residents and family members. The homely feel provides a wonderful environment that allows a personalised care package.
I am a nurse myself and I would want to reside at Chilton Court. The varied activities and lovely
food makes it a ***** star rating.
Well done to everyone in the team.

Having not experienced a care home environment, I can honestly say that Chiltin Court is as near to 'home from home' as my mum can be, with very friednly and experienced staff. Clean and fully equipped. Familiar faces in the staff and always available for a chat and advice. Always have time to spend
with residents and relatives and are open to bringing in pets, games, photos and even singers!

The kindness is the thing that shines through the most at Chilton Court, every single person at the home is kind and friendly and gives time to my friend. She is so incredibly happy at Chilton Court, activities are every day and so varied and brilliantly thought out. The rooms are clean and bright and
the attention to detail is excellent. Whenever we have had a question the staff have gone out of their way to help and when sad things have happened they have been supportive and caring with their time for my friend. Just above and beyond anything you could ask for. Thank you.

My mum has been in Chilton Court Care Home for six months. Initially, she found it very difficult and it was not an easy decision but she lived on her own and there was no alternative. When the decision was made that she would not be able to return to her own home, my job was to find her the best possible
place and I believe I have achieved that. The staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble and they have all gone out of their way to help Mum to settle in. They have got to understand her needs and are able to support her. During this period she has been ill and the care shown was just superb. Chilton Court is a real family; the residents look out for each other. The activities are amazing and everyone is included. I have had two Sunday dinners with Mum which were very good. I would not hesitate in recommending this care home to anyone.

My father moved to Chilton Court Care Home for the last seven weeks of his life. The care he received was outstanding; kind, caring staff who always treated him with dignity. The staff also welcomed, at any time, the relatives and always engaged with us in relation to Dad's daily routine and we felt
we became part of the Chilton Court family. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely facility.

My parents were admitted to Chilton Court Care Home as they both required more support than they were receiving from the four times a day carer visits at home.
After a video tour, we selected Chilton Court for respite care prior to a move to Sussex. The whole admission process was undertaken with great
sensitivity and professionalism. Mum and Dad were welcomed and made to feel at home and after their first three days are already beginning to settle in and giving very positive feedback.

Having been trying to move Dad for nearly two years, when it finally happened, we were very apprehensive. However, we soon realised with what we observed and what Dad was saying (that he was now in a place, and not as he previously said, in the other home that it was a prison)! The staff are all very
caring and compassionate. Residents have activities that can join in with. It is always clean, neat and tidy. It is home from home, and in my opinion, Dad is being cared for by the best team ever!

My mother moved to Chilton Court Care Home in late 2020. It was important to all our family for her to retain a sense of independence, so the opportunity to move into a house in The Courtyard was particularly welcome.
Since that time, Mum's needs have increased and I have been impressed at how staff
have constantly monitored how best to meet her needs, to make her feel at home and supported, sometimes going above and beyond to reassure her in her autonomy (though in truth she now needs a high level of support with dementia and physical frailty advancing.).
There is a low level of staff turnover which helps Mum as she knows her carers and they are aware of her likes and needs. Throughout the pandemic, I have been able to visit as staff recognised that my attendance was vital to Mum's wellbeing.
Mum is fond of the staff and often comments that nothing is too much trouble.
Other factors conducive to her wellbeing are the excellent food and busy activities programme.
I could say so much more.

We sought urgent help a year ago for my elderly mother-in-law as she was no longer able to live safely at home even with regular care and support. She had limited mobility, very poor eyesight and a poor memory in addition to general frailty. Due to the pandemic, we couldn't visit care homes to assess
them - but fortunately, my mother-in-law's GP was able to provide a (very) short list of recommendations. It took less than 24-hours from initial contact with Chilton Court Care Home to my mother-in-law being admitted - amazing at any time but especially in the middle of a pandemic! We genuinely thought that Chilton Court was excellent - the staff were very friendly and caring and looked after all the residents very well - nothing was too much trouble. It took a few weeks for my mother-in-law to settle in, but she came to enjoy the food and the various activities on offer and would comment that 'they look after me very well here'.

There is nothing I can say to fault Chilton Court Care Home, the transition from hospital to there went so smoothly five years ago, we have never looked back.
The level of care and love shown to residents by all members of staff is abundant, not once have we doubted that Mum is being well looked after.
During the last eighteen months, this has been reassuring whilst visiting was restricted and contact not possible (due to dementia).
I cannot thank all staff enough and would recommend this care home to anyone considering this type of care.

My mother-in-law has now been at Chilton Court Care Home for just over a year. They were good enough to take her in during the first Covid lockdown break. Although she doesn't understand this, I know she is safe and looked after here. When I visit her she always seems happy, clean and well-fed, she
misses going out but hopefully once life is back to some sort of normal she will be able to have some trips out. She enjoys the craft events that are held there and they often send me photos of her joining in. It is nice for me and her son (my husband who is also a dementia sufferer) to have peace of mind, and that she is no longer 200 miles away.

My mum has received consistently good care whilst being a resident at the home. Following a recent stay in the hospital, they were very happy to make adjustments to her care package to enable her to return to the home as quickly as possible. There is not a high turnover of staff and they always appear
cheerful even when up against challenging situations!

I have been most impressed by the way staff at Chilton Court have gone out of their way to ensure mum settled into Chilton Court and encouraging her to participate in the social activities. The team has paid particular attention to understanding mum her personality, interests and care requirements.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.433)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.433) out of 10 for Chilton Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.988 for Chilton Court is calculated as follows: ( (83 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.988
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.445 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chilton Court is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 registered maximum number of service users is 9.4. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.4 = 0.745
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
