Our mother experienced a severe cerebral episode in the morning just prior to handover. The swift action of the carer who found her and the care team's prompt call to paramedics undoubtedly provided a firm foundation for her recovery. Once paramedics arrived (which was quickly) I was contacted and it was made clear how severe the event was. The care staff on duty were excellent and we are extremely grateful. We value their ongoing good care and kindness to our Mum and us.

Let us break this down into its constituent parts;
1, Accommodation: spacious, elegant and comfortable rooms, both one's own bedroom and those for general use.
2, Staff: those who select and engage the staff are to be congratulated. Of course, personalities differ, but here they differ at a uniformly high level.
3, They and those whom we do not see (kitchen, most of the cleaners, maintenance and others) perform - as the results demonstrate - to a very high level.

This could be done as well in a cold and clinical manner. This is certainly not so here.

Thank you so much for your comments. We are currently looking at improving the activity provision at Fornham house, we are currently in the process of recruiting a replacement activity coordinator. Home visit to ensure concerns and needs were agreed and in place. Staff welcoming, supportive, friendly and professional left us feeling confident that mum would be happy, comfortable and well looked after. That was confirmed when we collected mum.
She would happily/willingly live there permanently.

Thank you.

This care home is excellent. From my first meeting with management about Dad's placement, from hospital to care staff and all staff groups, we have all been treated so lovely.
Staff always greet you and the care Dad gets is superb. Dad is happy here and that makes Mum and I settled in our minds.

The food is plentiful, rooms and common areas clean. Staff keep me updated on all aspects of Dad's care. Highly recommend this care home.

Have found Fornham House to be an excellent home. It is clean and as well run as can be in the current climate. Dad is well looked after and all of his needs are met. Food is very much to his liking and he enjoys banter with the staff. As a family, we have found that dad is much happier now he is in company. He joins in some of the activities which are on offer. All in all, we are very pleased with Fornham House.

Situated in lovely grounds which are well looked after. Staff are very friendly with always a smile on their face. They also have a chat to everyone they meet. The care manager (or assistant not sure which) is very helpful and sorts out any problems you might have. Food is to mums likening as she does not eat much. Could not wish for a better place for mum.

I have always been shown great friendliness by everyone in the home and been treated with the greatest respect. I am sorry there is such a big turnover of staff. The kitchen is good at offering me the small number of foods which I manage to swallow.

When I am ill, every effort is made for my recovery which is great. I have had issues with some of the men from the agency, but the home makes an effort to please me over this.

I have a lovely room and the (18th century home is great, also the garden). I have been nicely looked after, the four years I have been here. I love the quizzes.

Very happy with everything that the staff have done to help my mum settle in after a spell in hospital.
This has resulted in her getting back to her old self in a relatively short period of time. Though Forbham House is not a nursing home, I am most impressed with the efficiency of the staff in getting medical matters sorted out quickly and being informed so promptly about any falls or incidents my mum has had.

The home itself is ideally situated in a quiet, tranquil place which is very uplifting for all who visit and live there.

My father has been looked after in this care home for the past three months and the care he has received has been outstanding. The staff are without exception caring and compassionate and have treated him with great dignity as his health has deteriorated.
The setting of the home is lovely, with carefully tended gardens surrounding the property. The food is excellent and a full programme of activities is available. Relatives are welcome to visit at any time and questions about my father's care have been answered fully. District nurses call regularly and liaise well with the staff.
It is noticeable that residents seem happy and content.

This is a care home I would recommend with confidence.

The pleasant atmosphere in the home is always present whenever I visit. The staff are so friendly and always smiling. Occasionally my wife and I book in for dinner and this is always excellent, most delicious, nutritious and beautifully presented. The manager is extremely efficient with both authority and friendliness, as a good manager should be. I cannot express how highly I think of Fornham House, and the management and staff in the way they care for my mother in particular, but also all of the residents. Thank you.
