Since my nan moved into North Bay House she has received a higher standard of care than I have seen in other residential homes. Her quality of life has improved significantly and is now enjoying the company of others more, this not only includes the other residents but also the friendly carers. I have
never known my nan to enjoy her food, but since being at North Bay she can only say good things about the food provided and looks forward to her next meal.

I am completely satisfied with the care and attention my mother receives at this care home. It is clean and comfortable and the surroundings are very homely, lovely furniture, decor, gardens are well kept and accessible and safe. Lots of activities if the residents want to join in. Nice dining room,
excellent food. Staff and management are very caring and friendly and also arrange outings for those who can get out.

My mother has resided at North Bay for nearly 5 years.
The building is classic and the interior luxurious with a full-width balcony covered in wisteria and tables for residents to sit in warm weather.
The rooms have ensuites and are of a good size, many with views of the river.
The staff are wonderful,
cheerful and friendly.
They are always patient and caring.
I find the food is exceptional and have joined my mother for lunch on occasions with plenty of vegetables and 6-ingredient salads accompanying the main event.
Organised events and outings are often and varied.
All in all, A* care home.

Recently enjoyed my 2-week stay at North Bay House very much. Room was nicely decorated, the communal areas were warm and comfortable. The food was varied, tasty, well presented and always a choice available. The 24-hour carers were helpful, chatty and cheerful and treated me with patience and respect.
North Bay House is set in lovely grounds and has lovely views. The management team were professional and very helpful. I could relax with the knowledge that I was being well looked after there. A positive experience.

It is the best care home I have experienced either in a work situation or through a relative. The premises both from a visitors point of view and feedback from residents is very good. Staff and management are both helpful and competent.

I have found that ever since my wife entered the above home and on visiting her three times a week I have found the total staff from the cleaner to management, treat every resident with compassion and friendly care at all times. All with extreme patience. I am unable to find any complaint during the
last 15 months and would recommend them to anyone.

Professionally run without losing the personal touch, this home stands far and above any others that I have seen. The staff are caring and emphatic and the home is clean and well maintained.
I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending North Bay House.

After a bad fall it was decided i should go into a residential home for respite and on 12/1/2016 i came to North Bay House, a sunny room with a view of the garden and the broad. Everyone seemed very kind and helpful. We have a choice of meals and where we eat them. There are various activities arranged
for those who wish to become involved. We each have a bell to ring if we need help and somebody comes quickly.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.345)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.345) out of 10 for North Bay House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.983 for North Bay House is calculated as follows: ( (59 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.983
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.362 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for North Bay House is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 29 registered maximum number of service users is 5.8. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.8 = 0.862
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
