Care and support can't be faulted. Always treated with dignity and person-centred care. The food is excellent and the home is very clean. Changes implemented by the head office have resulted in a recent high turnover of staff. We hope that Mum's high quality of care will not deteriorate because of this.
The care staff are wonderful and need to be valued, appreciated, and perhaps paid more.
Reply from Davina Button, Home Manager at Stradbroke CourtThank you. We strive each day to make the home a more wonderful place, to provide a high standard of care and to make every resident as happy and as comfortable as possible. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness and the standard of our meals, yet try every day to make everything even better. The staff always appreciate good feedback and I will ensure your positivity is passed along. Thank you.

Mum has been in Stradbroke Court for over three years. Initially, she was very withdrawn, but the home has been proactive in encouraging her to join in with group activities. She has always been well looked after by the friendly and helpful staff. Throughout the pandemic, they were proactive again with
encouraging video calls as we couldn't visit face-to-face and have loosened visiting restrictions as possible whilst keeping up to date with local guidelines. She always seems very happy whenever I visit, and I've had no concerns at all during Mum's stay here.
Reply from Viktor Zak, Regional Manager at Stradbroke CourtThank you very much for your positive feedback and for appreciating our efforts. It is a pleasure to have your mum at Stradbroke Court. Thank you again.

The managers and staff have been most supportive of my mother and I through very difficult times. They were able to encourage people to adhere to very strict lockdown restrictions in a way in which the Prime Minister was not.
Even the ridiculous restrictions were enforced, which made life even more
difficult for staff. (I refer here to some of the PPE requirements).
Now that restrictions are largely lifted, I look forward to engaging more with the daily life of the home. Staff have been very helpful throughout, and I thank them for that.
Reply from Viktor Zak, Regional Manager at Stradbroke CourtThank you very much for your encouraging words and feedback. Recognising that the last 2 years have been very difficult ones for all of us is very much appreciated. We all look forward to having the good old days of open doors to all visitors back soon. Thank you again!

Mum moved into Stradbroke Court in early 2020 just before the first Covid lockdown. I have been really pleased with the way in which she has been cared for during a very difficult time for all and the staff and management. They have worked really hard to give excellent care and support to Mum. I live
two to three hours away from Lowestoft, which hinders visiting, even during normal times - making it very important that the staff and management have been very effective in maintaining good communication with me. I am always made to feel very welcome when I visit, and all the team are very friendly. When I visit Mum, she always seems happy and cheerful, which is very reassuring. I would echo one of the other reviewers in stating that it was a very easy decision when I had to make a choice on which care home - Stradbroke Court stood head and shoulders above other homes we considered in the area. Heartfelt thanks to all the team.
Reply from Viktor Zak, Regional Manager at Stradbroke CourtThank you very much for your much-appreciated feedback! The last two years have been very hard for all of us, and your words mean a lot to the whole team! Thank you!

I am a private carer for a lady with vascular dementia, who, at present remains living at home. She has recently spent two weeks in Stradbroke Court for respite. The staff made her stay a happy experience, she settled immediately and was always happy and smiling when I visited her. A big heartfelt thank
you to the manager and her team for making this lady so welcome. Lovely home and well run, would definitely recommend.

My mother has received consistent and excellent care since she moved into Stradbroke in June 2018.
They have supported and given the care needed for her personally.
They are a very open and committed team, who have gone further than expected, especially in the last 18-months.
Thank you all at Stradbroke

My lovely dad joined the wonderful care of Stradbroke Court in November 2019. Over the last 18 months or so, I really don’t know what we would have done and how we would have coped if it wasn’t for them.
The care and compassion he has received have been ‘beyond the call of duty’.
Dad celebrated his
90th Birthday in May 2020 during the lockdown, Dad has always been a keen football fan, and before we knew what was happening, he was receiving video calls from the players with memorabilia and even a cake; we were utterly blown away!
When myself and my sister toured the local care homes (with a clipboard in hand) searching for the one most suited to Dad’s needs, it turned out to be a very easy choice indeed, there really wasn’t any comparison.
We have been so very lucky as Stradbroke Court made the transition from Dad’s home to his new home stress-free for us, and for that, we are truly grateful.
Thank you.
Reply from Viktor Zak, Regional Manager at Stradbroke CourtWe would like to thank you for your beautiful words of appreciation. Words like these, together with your dad's company and smile, give sense to what we do. Thank you.

I can not express how grateful I was for the love & care that was shown to my dear mum from the day she moved in, in 2016 to the day she passed away in January this year 2020. My family & I were over whelmed with the support the staff showed to us at sad & difficult times. I personally feel the staff
are part of my extended family.

My grandfather had a brief but comfortable stay at Stradbroke Court which only lasted for a little over a month but the care that he was given was second to none during that time. I and my family were more than happy with the levels of care that he was given and the communications at all times were
fantastic, especially during the particularly difficult Coronavirus situation which made things difficult for all involved.

My mother has dementia and the care provided by the staff at Stradbroke Court has been wonderful. They are friendly, happy to assist with any questions or queries we may have. They look after my father when he visits every day too and recently when he became unwell during a visit, they ensured he was
looked after and called for medical support. I cannot thank them enough - they are brilliant.

Really happy with the care my aunty received.
Staff approachable with a "cannot do enough" attitude. The manager actually never seen in the office, but more likely to find her with residents and staff, around the home, working alongside staff and even making breakfasts or drinks!
The activity team
is brilliant. Granting wishes and constant one to one time.
Lovely food, real home-cooked meals.
Tea shop available for visitors in reception and a real community feel at events alongside the family feel of the home, where you never see a staff member without a smile on their face!

Excellent care of my mother, who without a shadow of a doubt, spent the most wonderful last year of her life here. Without a doubt, the staff are great, with the most person-centred, resident oriented. The Manager is brilliant. Attended to every little whim or concern, even in the middle of the night.
Carers go way above and beyond. Activities are creative and well thought out.
These staff work at this home because they love it, not just because its a job.

My sister went into Stradbroke Court on July 31st 2018. She was greeted on arrival in a most warm and caring way. Her room was lovely, clean and all facilities. The home was a credit to the caring staff and food etc. Always bright and cheerful. Staff always at hand to be spoken to about her welfare.
She did deteriorate in later months (September) Went to hospital for extra care - returned to Stradbroke Court and then she died on October 2nd 2018. She could not have been better treated and gave my family great comfort.

I can not express how happy I am that I have moved my great-grandmother to Stradbroke Court care home. They were all so welcoming making her feel like she was at home as soon as she got there. She keeps commenting 'how lovely the staff are and she loves the food'. The care home is extremely clean and
has great facilities and I strongly believe the value is superb especially after seeing how great the care and support is. Once again, Thank you Stradbroke Court Care Home.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.644)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.644) out of 10 for Stradbroke Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.644 for Stradbroke Court is calculated as follows: ( (178 Excellents x 5) + (88 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 270 Ratings = 4.644
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stradbroke Court is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
