It is not the most smartest home I've visited. But it is the most friendly, homely and caring.

I have found staff to be helpful and polite. Mum is treated with respect at all times. Mum is happy and to me, that means an awful lot. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Thurleston Residential Home to anybody.

Thurleston Residential Home provides good value for money. My mother has been a resident for nearly three years, she has dementia and the highest praise I can give is that she is brighter and happier since she has been here. Mum is always treated with respect and dignity. Thurleston Residential Home does not try to be a 4-star hotel like some homes, but the warmth and care the residents are shown by staff is superb. The activities programme is now excellent too.

Overall Experience

My mother was placed at Thurleston home after leaving hospital following a mild stroke. Mum has always kept herself to herself, found making friends hard and a very private independent lady. At over 90 this was a huge change for her and a huge worry to the family. With the support, kindness and care of the staff at Thurleston. Mum has settled in remarkably well, better than we could ever hoped. The family and myself cannot thank the staff enough for this and will always be grateful to them.

Overall Experience

The care and support that Mum receives at Thurleston, is second to none. The Manager, her Deputy and senior staff demonstrate excellent leadership and are clearly very passionate in their responsibilities. All of the carers, catering and domestic staff, treat Mum with respect and empathy, and are always friendly, courteous and helpful.

Mum has lived at Thurleston for nigh on 7 years and is happy and content. She has a very pleasant, sunny room which overlooks open fields and which allows her to indulge her love of watching the birds, with the occasional squirrel visiting for good measure.

We know Mum is being well cared for by all the staff at Thurleston and we appreciate this very much.
