Beechcroft Residential Home is a boutique care home founded on the principle that every resident deserves the same level of care, kindness, and respect that one would provide for their own family members. The dedicated staff take pride in fostering an environment that feels like an extended family, where residents are not just cared for but truly valued.

At Beechcroft, most residents maintain a degree of independence but benefit from the warmth and reassurance of 24-hour support. The home’s small size allows for a close-knit, friendly atmosphere where residents form meaningful relationships with both carers and each other. It’s a place where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, and a sense of community thrives.

Residents are encouraged to participate in daily activities, enjoy nutritious meals, rest comfortably, and maintain connections with their loved ones. The home’s focus is on rekindling a zest for life, ensuring that each resident’s individual needs and preferences are always met with personal attention.

Beechwood has strong connections with the local community, welcoming regular visits from the nearby nursery and monthly visits from the vicar.

Beechcroft offers both long-term residential care and flexible day-care options. Day-care guests are welcome to join for the day and return home in the evening, while shorter visits for a few hours are available for those who wish to enjoy the home’s warm and welcoming atmosphere, whether for a cup of tea, a relaxing bath, or participation in daily activities.

The home is proud to be a winner of the Top 20 Care Homes in South West England Award 2025.

The staff can't do enough for Mum and the care she gets couldn't be bettered. Although a difficult decision Mum feels really at home and all visitors are looked after with the same care and dedication. Would recommend to anyone needing a home.

My brother-in-law moved into Beechcroft for two weeks respite in March 2020. Beechcroft is an excellent CARING HOME. My observations over my visits, usually twice per week, have shown me that, without exception, ALL staff, regardless of their role show an amazing ability to show care, respect and consideration
to all the residents whilst meeting their many individual needs. There is always a warm welcome to visitors and I felt that I was kept up to date with my relative's progress, health and needs within the home, Activities held there are well thought out.
The rooms are not large but are clean, comfortable and personalised by the resident's belongings such as photographs and pictures. Visitors can chat within the room or take advantage if the comfortable lounge areas. In the fine weather the garden is a welcoming bonus.
Well balanced tasty meals are served in the well set out dining area and they are cooked on the premises by excellent staff.
I have nothing but praise for the staff

Your praise will be shared with all staff, as feedback like this really reinforces the pride they take in the care they provide.

My mum has been at Beechcroft Residential Home for nearly two years and I thought it would be nice to give a review.
I cannot say enough in a positive way about Beechcroft. I couldn't be any happier about the way my mum is being cared for. Her room is lovely and the whole atmosphere of the care home
is superb, nothing flashy just a personal, homely, caring home. The kitchen staff produce lovely meals, the entertainment provided is thoughtful but the most important thing is their staff, all of those who I've had the pleasure of meeting, they are open and transparent, even when I've asked personal questions regarding my mum, it is met with honesty and care. I would, if I can, say a special thank you to all of them, it means so much.

Mum has been at Beechcroft Residential Home now for nearly eighteen months. She's very happy and settled, she enjoys the company of all the staff and the residents. She particularly likes the delicious homemade food and lashings of custard on all her puddings. She likes to join in the activities and
very much enjoys the musical entertainment. She also likes to play her keyboard for afternoon entertainment in the sitting room for everyone to enjoy. It is a very welcoming, homely care home with smiley faces welcoming you on arrival. The garden area is very much a bonus, as it gives a chance of a bit of outside exercise and a place to enjoy the summer sunshine. I can't recommend it too highly.

My mum and I decided she needed extra support with daily life. After looking at a few residential homes, we decided on Beechcroft Residential Home. First impressions were lovely and friendly, like a home from home, so Mum moved in and settled really well. She really enjoyed the company and the activities,
games and crafts. She loved the variety of lovely food and staff would always make her favourite milky coffee for her! Would highly recommend.

My mum started coming to Beechcroft Residential Home as a weekly visitor when she lived alone in her home.
A place became available in January and we decided to do a month's trial. It didn't take long to see this was the place to live full-time.
It's home from home. Staff are extremely friendly and
make my mum feel special and wanted. Lovely, home-cooked food by the chefs and beautiful cakes baked on special occasions.
The care is second to none and gives the family peace of mind knowing Mum is being well looked after.
Highly recommend and so pleased we moved Mum here.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.949)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.949) out of 10 for Beechcroft Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.949 for Beechcroft Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (225 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 237 Ratings = 4.949
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beechcroft Residential Home is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 18 registered maximum number of service users is 3.6, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
