I'd like to take the opportunity to recognise how carefully and imaginatively the Katherine House staff are seeking to keep my Mum and all the residents as cool as possible in this hot weather. Older people do not easily drink extra or necessarily feel temperatures in the same way younger people do. My Mum has been well hydrated and invited to keep cooler where possible. There are plenty of fans all over the place. The staff are hot themselves and are managing that too. Thank you to you all.
Thankyou so much for your very kind review - it will mean so much to our staff they are being recognised. We all do what we can to ensure our residents get the best quality of care despite weather conditions.. We have an incredible, compassionate and caring team I shall pass your lovely review onto them, thankyou. Sue (Deputy Manager)
Everyone at Griffiths House gave my mother kind and compassionate care - always cheerfully and often with humour, appreciating my ninety eight year mother's wit and spark. I paid frequent visits to Griffiths House which is light, bright, modern and super clean - a relaxing and friendly environment. The staff were always keen to support me too, often making me a cup of tea and chatting about my mother. Also I can't fault the sensitive way the Home managed my mother's recent end of life.Thank you Griffiths for making a tricky time as smooth as possible. I would strongly recommend Griffiths House.
Thankyou so much for your very kind words, it means so much to our staff, they are so passionate about the care and support they provide always striving for excellence because they genuinely care. Thankyou for your support too and our thoughts are with you at this time
We thank our lucky stars the day we found Katherine House!
We miss her very much, and we cared deeply for her and for all her...
My Mum was a resident at Katherine House for 13 months, moving in directly from hospital after suffering a debilitating injury related to terminal cancer. Having had her life turned upside down, she received not only the highest standard of care, but also reassurance, empathy and support from every member of staff. Within a very short period of time, Mum embraced Katherine House as her home and the staff became her friends. It was her wish to spend her last days there. As her family, we cannot express how grateful we are for the comfort and joy at times, that the team gave not only to Mum, but also to us her family and her friends, whenever we visited or had need to contact them. They could not have done more for us and quite honestly, should the need arise, I would be very happy to move in myself. On behalf of all the family, thank you Katherine House.
Your mother was an amazing, strong independent lady, we hold her one wish that she had in her last few days dear to our hearts
Mum moved into Katherine House over 3 years ago as we wanted her living close to us, and she could no longer cope with living alone. All the staff there have been wonderful - so professional, caring and friendly - particularly in the last few difficult weeks. In fact, we felt that everyone was taking care of us as well as Mum.
We looked at several other care homes before choosing Katherine House, and are happy that we made the right choice. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who is seeking a home for their loved one.
Thankyou for your kind words, it was an absolute honour and privilege to care for your mum and to support her loved ones, as we class everyone as family. Our team are so dedicated and compassionate and we pride ourselves on the care and support that we provide, thankyou again for your very kind words
Our family's experience of this care has been that all staff at all levels demonstrated kindness, respect and love for our mum from the moment she joined the home. Katherine House is a beautiful, calm and tranquil home that felt from the moment of our first visit to be the perfect fit for our mum, and has always been warm and welcoming to all of the many members of her family.
Katherine House' greatest asset is the people who work there. All staff we encountered were always highly professional and this clearly reflects the highest quality of recruitment, training and leadership at all levels.
Whilst the last 12 months has been a very difficult time for our mum, the time she spent at Katherine House gave all of us time and space to build further happy memories with our mum and these have been a great comfort to us all.
Amazing place and amazing people.
Thank you so much for your kind and really lovely review. Our team's priority is to always ensure everyone receives the highest level of care and support, which is what your mum deserves, and it was a pleasure and a privilege to meet you all and be able to help. You are a wonderful, caring and supportive family, and your mum deserves the very best. We hope to meet again soon.
Mum was happy at Katherine House and she was well cared for, which gave us peace of mind. Katherine House was definitely the right choice.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review Katherine House. We are very proud of the staff team that work here, they have amazing passion, care, empathy and kindness towards every individual resident. The Wellbeing & Activities team provide great stimulating activities and as you say trips out in the community, so glad mum was happy here a place she called her home.
Every single person contributed to making our mother feel safe, valued, and truly at home. Katherine and Griffith House are shining examples of what care should be and we would recommend them wholeheartedly to any family looking for a place where their loved one will be genuinely cared for and cherish
Thankyou so much for your lovely comments, we pride ourselves on our motivated, dedicated, compassionate and loyal team treating everyone like family and your mum and all of you were our family and will continue to be. Thankyou for your beautiful words
A huge thank you to the catering team as well - the cake they made was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The card from the team was also wonderful and so meaningful.
Nan looked stunning - her hair, makeup, and dress were all done so beautifully, and it meant the world to us to see her so happy. The staff's kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care really shone through.
We are so grateful to everyone at Katherine House for making the day truly memorable, not just for Nan but for our whole family. Thank you for everything you do!
Thank you so much for your kind words, our team work extremely hard and always go above and beyond each day to ensure all of our residents are well cared for providing person centered care.We are all so pleased that Nan enjoyed her special day with her family and friends by her side.
'Mum moved in to Katherine House six weeks ago. Initially it was hard to differentiate between those members of staff who look after the residents and those who look after the building, as every individual we have met, without exception, is lovely with the residents. It's as if everyone is a care professional to the highest standard, regardless of the job they are actually employed to do. The enthusiastic management team could not have done more to make us feel comfortable, informed and welcome from the first contact. Mum is delighted with the excellent activities on offer, she has made friends, loves the staff and raves about the delicious food and all the care and kindness she receives. As a result, her move into residential care does not feel like 'the end bit' but the start of the next chapter of her life, which at 95 was completely unexpected and really rather wonderful. We feel very privileged that there was a place for Mum at Katherine House and to us, so far it is perfect.'
Thankyou so much for your wonderful, kind words our team approach everything with passion, empathy, care and utter kindness and we are so very proud to have our team and we are certainly very proud that your mum decided to live here. We agree when coming into Katherine House, it is a new chapter and amazing quality of life begins xx
Katherine House is a very special community of people in a lovely building, tucked away from the world. The staff are wonderful and make everyone feel at home, guests as well as residents. Everything feels very relaxed but the staff seem to be keeping a careful eye on what goes on and are attentive to the residents needs. Quite outstanding.
Thankyou for your lovely comments. We always want our residents to feel at home, safe, loved and valued and our dedicated team are committed to making sure everyone is treated with respect and dignity, loved and cared for at all times. Thank you for taking the time to write a compliment it is very much appreciated. Regards.
My mum passed away recently whilst at Katherine House where she had lived since March 2020. From all the trials and tribulations of COVID, through to the inevitable difficulties she faced in her last few weeks alive, the staff at Katherine House, without exception, were wonderful. The love, care, dignity and compassion they have all shown Mum has been a joy and source of great reassurance and comfort to all the family, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the home.
Thank you for your kind words, we loved and cherished your mum and will miss her greatly. It makes us proud that we have a team who are dedicated, loyal, compassionate and amazingly kind and caring and would do anything to ensure the quality of care and services are of the highest standard. Our...
Golden days at Katherine House; my brother and I chose this care home in front of several others in September 2023. My mother was very pleased with our choice and loved the home for its wonderful staff, beautiful quiet setting and friendly environment. Her last days were spent there and we feel very fortunate in finding such a good place.

My father moved to Katherine House after it became clear he could no longer manage in his independent living flat. Katherine House proved to be an extremely good choice. The care he received was outstanding and the staff were all very friendly and caring and nothing was ever too much trouble. It gave the family peace of mind knowing he was being well cared for and all his medical needs were being taken care of. The catering was excellent and there was a very good programme of events and activities for the residents to participate in. Katherine House itself is in a lovely location and my father had a very nice room with patio doors overlooking greenery. I would not hesitate to recommend Katherine House to prospective residents.
Thank you so much for your lovely compliments and for taking the time to put a review; it means a lot to our team to be recognised for the amazing work they do in all departments. Your father was a wonderful much loved gentleman and will forever be remembered and we are so very pleased we were able to offer a high quality of care and services he very much deserved.
Mum was resident at Griffiths House for a number of years and words are woefully inadequate to express my love and reverence for this organisation and the absolutely amazing people who together to make this the place for your nearest and dearest. My dear mother has just passed and although I have regrets none of them is our decision to choose Katherine and Griffiths Houses for her care.
Thank you so much for your wonderful compliment - our staff are wonderful and incredibly passionate at delivering person-centred care and go above and beyond to make a difference. Your mother was an amazing, strong independent lady who meant the world to us and we will miss her very much.
Having worked in the care sector for seven years, I chose Katherine House for my mum to move into two years ago. It was the right choice - Mum is very happy and is well cared for, in a tailored manner. I've recommended Katherine House to many friends due to its caring and fun culture, and its happy team who share a passion for excellence.

Staff were always caring, pleasant, prompt, polite and very friendly to my Mother and all the family. A wide range of activities in and out of the home are laid on, socialising is encouraged and there are some very nice places to sit in and outside the home.

Placing your relative in a care home is not an easy choice, but Katherine House made the whole process much easier both for the resident and relatives. Visiting feels like you are entering a family that cares, and having the grounds to walk in is wonderful.
Outings and entertainment are well thought out, keeping the residents active and entertained.
Yes, there have been a few minor hiccups, but these would have occurred anywhere, and they have been treated proactively and resolved quickly.
All in all, very happy with the whole set-up, and most importantly, I trust them to have the resident's best interests in mind.
Thank you very much for the kind review and for taking the time to write a review; it means the world to the team here, who want the very best for all our residents. Leanne Thorne is the Cote Manager at Katherine House Rest Home.
I have worked in Social Care for 31 years and have a variety of experience in elderly/Dementia, learning disabilities and mental health settings.
I have worked in many homes across South Gloucestershire and the South West, including other Charities as a Strategic Manager.
I am a very nurturing manager. I enjoy supporting staff to increase their skill set to enable career progression internally.

I manage an extensive training/assessment, and competency programme for staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional care to the highest of standards. It is important to me that our residents receive the best quality of life through daily fulfilment, excellent care and services and a home where they feel valued, respected, empowered and treated as unique individuals with their own wishes and choices, creating a home from home environment.
I feel honoured and proud to work with such a compassionate, caring team, they do a wonderful job and I feel privileged to do this job

I have been a chef since I left school. I have enjoyed cooking since I can remember, learning at a young age from my mum.
I am passionate about bringing high-quality food for our residents to enjoy. I look forward to hearing the feedback at meal times and am always happy to try recommendations from residents.
I have met wonderful people since joining the team at Katherine House. It's a pleasure to work in the resident's homes and love coming to work.

I have been in the care sector for over 25 years working in various roles from Housekeeper to Administrator.
I found the administration role to be my favourite role so far!
I love talking to people and being involved in making a difference to the residents in our home in any way I can.
I have been working for Cote Charity Since April 2022 and have settled in well. The staff are warm and friendly and have truly welcomed me to the home.
