The transition from independent living to a care home happened smoothly with family input. My experience in the WRENS helped me settle quickly. I like the open views, the gardens and the freedom of friends visiting.

Mum receives really good care at Menwinnion Country House Care Home. She really enjoys the meals and the carers are all kind and very helpful. I would not wish to move my mum to any other care home.

Have visited our friend quite regularly over the past three years. I have always been impressed with all I have seen and if I had to go into a home it would be the one I would choose. Have had a few meals out there and the quality and standard are excellent. The staff I have seen have always been courteous and professional. The general manager keeps a close eye on things and in my opinion, this is reflected by the staff. Well done, keep up the good work looking after the elderly and frail.

From kitchen staff, cleaners and carers, everyone has been helpful and pleasant, making my life here as good as it can be. My wish to stay in my room was accepted which suits me and altogether I am reasonably content with my life at Menwinnion.

Although I was glad and grateful to be given a room initially at Menwinnion. I find myself being totally unable to recommend them. There are good points: The food by one Chef in particular was SO amazing (I'll certainly miss this!), and the views are indeed beautiful and therapeutic. There are mostly, some lovely Carers here...both male and female with a range of ages and personalities. Some of them really do seem to love caring for others. Some Staff however don't seem as happy in their work. I also found some of those 'in charge' to be very judgmental, uncaring, and unprofessional, attitudes which I feel unfortunately have rubbed off on a few of the staff, lowering general morale. The current Manager (who is on holiday) I have to say has been EXCELLENT, so maybe when they return, things might improve! Thank you to those who did give me the respite care I needed, some very kind people working in difficult circumstances...but I feel totally relieved to be free of the chaotic management style.

We listen to all our resident’s feedback and we are sorry to note some of the comments in your review on this occasion. However, we are pleased to see that there were still positive aspects to your review and that most importantly you have identified particular members of staff who are excellent...

The service and care is top class, meals are lovely and varied, caring nature of the carers is superb, rooms are lovely. Management are very kind, helpful and understanding. A really good home.

An extra toilet on the main floor might be helpful.

It was the first time my father had been in a care home and his first stay was a great success. His taster day the month before allowed him to meet the staff and understand what his respite stay would be about. So on his arrival for his week stay things were familiar to him. All the staff were friendly, professional and very welcoming. When we picked him up at the end of the week he said how well he had been looked after, how lovely the food was and how comfortable he had been. It's a great reassurance to know that he was safe and so well cared for whilst we were away. He so enjoyed himself that he is already talking about what he will do when he stays again in June.

This is the fourth year of my parents residence at Menwinnion. I have been extremely impressed with the consistently high standard of care that they have, and continue to receive from compassionate and well-trained staff. Every care has been attended to, every effort is made to ensure that their dignity has been respected and every request that they have made, been listened to. The team are wonderful and treat everyone as members of a larger extended family. They have brought a new lease of life to my parents and I cannot rate them highly enough, by far the best service provider in the area
